Called for a dental emergency and they got me in immediately. The office staff was so kind and thorough while figuring out my insurance coverage, too. Dr. Duncan was awesome and called after the procedure to check on my pain. This team was incredibly and I'm so grateful for the service.

Dr. Duncan and his staff were professional, kind, helpful, put me at ease, made me quite comfortable under the circumstances! Was very impressed at every level.

TOTAL NIGHTMARE! Dr. Slavens performed a root canal on tooth #29 on March 5. I returned to his office on March 26 complaining of pain from the same tooth. I told him I was having constant throbbing and sensitivity to cold. He said this was impossible and did a root canal on tooth #30 the same day. My symptoms got increasingly worse and I notified his office on March 28, 29 and April 1, my phone call on April 1 was never returned. I was admitted overnight to IU Health hospital in Muncie on April 2 due to excruciating dental pain. Dr. Slavens saw me on April 4, had a sour attitude and seemed incredibly aggravated to see me. I told him I was unable to eat or drink even room temperature water the pain coming from #29 was unbearable. He removed the original material and packed #29 with medicine. After the procedure he sat me up and asked if I was still in pain, I said yes because I was and he said it was impossible for me to be in pain because he had numbed me. When I started to cry (the pain was terrible) he then asked to pray over me. When I called the next week to tell him that I was still having extreme pain he refused to see me and said that I needed to visit my primary care physician and that he and his associates believed I had shingles or a heart condition. Upon arriving to my doctor the same day I was told that Dr. Slavens had referred to me as "crazy" and he confirmed with my doctor that the pain I was having was not dental related. After two weeks of various tests, EKGs, labs, two CT scans and large doses of unnecessary nerve, pain and anxiety medication I was sent to an ENT. The ENT did a scope, read my scans, found nothing to treat and recommended I visit a new dentist immediately. I drove to Texas and saw my parents dentist who did x-rays and found tooth #28 was severely abscessed and #29 was completely cracked under the gum beyond repair. #28 was drained in the office and root canal completed a week later. Tooth #29 was extracted and I was completely free of pain less than 48 hours later. Arrogance, dismissiveness and complete lack of concern for your dental health is what Dr. John Slavens has to offer. Dr. Slavens' assistant Carly was the only employee who treated me with kindness and respect during all of my appointments and he is lucky to have her on his staff. I don't wish for anyone else to needlessly suffer the way that I have over the last three months. Please seek dental care elsewhere !!!

I had a great visit last week. The front end staff was very inviting and friendly and let me know what to expect for the appointment. It took some time to get in a chair. The assistant started the eval and was again very friendly and let me know what to expect. After the Eval Dr. Duncan came to see me and showed me the X-rays and eval results and why I needed a root canal(which I already knew). Dr. Duncan was super friendly, funny, patient, and very polite not even to me but his assistant as well. As I'm checking out I get some paperwork and a business card that has his home and cell phone number in case I had any problems. It's great to see people going the extra mile and wanting their patients to be comfortable. About 8pm that night I get a call from Dr Duncan checking to see how I'm doing. I hope I never have to get a root canal again but I will certainly go back here if I'm in need of one.

The staff here went above and beyond to help me on a really bad day. I called with a nasty toothache and hoped to get in the same day. Kim the receptionist just really went out of her way to get me in. She was so caring and communicated so well. Dr. Slavens really took his time and worked hard to determine the cause and explain options. Marvelous people.
