Dr. Yang attended West Virginia University for both her undergraduate degree in exercise science and her doctoral degree as a DDS. Following her graduation, she moved to Harrisonburg where she practiced dentistry for a year before landing back in Richmond to be closer to family. In addition to her many accomplishments, Dr. Yang is a decorated pickleball player.
Dr. Tolbert attended Virginia Tech University where she received her undergraduate degree in Biology. She continued her studies at Virginia Commonwealth University where she received her DDS degree. She then completed her residency with Wellspan Health in York, PA. In addition to her many accomplishments, Dr. Tolbert is the proud mother of her cat, Monk.

Everyone is friendly and thorough. My hygienist Brittany did a great job of explaining everything as she went along and working around my sensitive gums, and Dr. Tolbert already knew what my insurance covered when she came to talk about some specialty things that came up during my cleaning. They really go the extra mile to make you feel comfortable and heard!

I desperately needed dentures after I had to extract multiple tooth. I went to Northside Dental Co. I was greeted with respect, dignity and a deep desire to provide the best possible care. Filling dentures to an individual is quite a daunting challenge. Patience, persistents and perseverance is what it takes, and Dr Yang came through with flying colors! Always warm and welcome. Dr Yang was not satisfied until I was happy with her work. I had a wonderful experience.my gratitude to Dr Yang and her assistants. I would recommend Dr Yang and the entire staff of Northside Dental. The best experience I have ever had at the dentist. I had three fillings and truly felt no pain. Not with the injection of the anesthetic (which usually is what hurts the most), and not when drilling because the anesthetic worked completely.

I had to have 6 cavities filled and a crown done and Dr. Tolbert did an amazing job! I was never in any pain, and almost a year later my crown is still in perfect condition. I recently had a routine cleaning with my new dentist (I moved out of state, so had to switch dentists) and they were super impressed by the work done. They actually had to keep double-checking the Xrays to see where the fillings were because they couldn't tell just by looking at/poking at my teeth.

***** Edited from 5 stars to 1. I just called to make my next appointment and I was informed by your front desk that my favorite hygienist, Raychel, was no longer with y'all. I was driving 1 hour from Fredericksburg all the way to Richmond just to be seen at your office by her. Given my experience at your office was always wonderful I feel Raychel played a big part in that and Because she is no longer there I will no longer be a patient. Sad to see her go, but even more disappointed I have to find a new dentist now. Original review: My experience at Northside Dental was excellent! The front desk was very friendly and accommodating with scheduling my appointment. I have not been to the dentist in several years and was somewhat nervous. My hygienist Raychel was very gentle and took time to explain everything that was taking place and made the experience very pleasant. I would highly recommend Northside Dental and be sure to ask for Raychel to be your hygienist!

Really enjoyed having a nice dentist in the area! Very beautiful office with bob ross videos to relax you through the visit. Definitely didn't leave feeling they pushed any unnecessary treatment. Staff was universally friendly and helpful.

A great practice! My dentist and hygienist were warm, efficient, and straight to the point. The office was super inviting and relaxing, and I especially liked watching Bob Ross while in the chair getting my teeth cleaned.

I am pleased with my visit today, the staff was professional, friendly, and courteous. The inside of the building is lovely and everything was top of the line clean. I observed how they took their safety and the safety of others seriously, they were masked up and I'm here for it. This was a first time visit but the Dentist and her assistant made me feel welcomed and comfortable. They also explained each step taking place and also what would take place moving forward. I would highly recommend them and look forward to my next visit.
