Dr. Efraim Zak attended the New York University College of Dentistry for his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. He spent additional time and training at NYU to complete his orthodontic residency and become a specialist in orthodontics. He brings with him an extensive background in research, including many awards and publications.
Dr. Zak attends yearly seminars and study groups to keep up on all advanced orthodontic techniques. He has also lectured at dental study clubs on Align Technology's behalf, the producer of Invisalign. He is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, and the OKU dental honor fraternity.
Dr. Zak grew up in New York City and now resides in Long Island. He and his wife, Susan, have to amazing children, Justin and Chelsea, who keep him very busy. When he has the time, Dr. Zak enjoys playing golf, skiing, biking, working out, and going to movies. He is involved with his childrens PTA and supports the Shriners Hospital for Children and research for scleroderma, ALS, multiple sclerosis, cancer, and many others.
Dr. Scott Friedman received his dental and orthodontic degrees from New York University College of Dentistry. He has 20 years of clinical experience and a vast background in all phases of orthodontic treatment. He attends numerous lectures around the country and brings this state-of-the-art knowledge with him to provide the best treatment for our patients.
Dr. Weinstein is a graduate of Lehigh University. There he attained a major in Biology, as well as a minor in Computer Science. Dr. Weinstein went on to attend New York University College of Dentistry, where he graduated as a Doctor of Dental Surgery, earning the Honors Orthodontics Award from the American Association of Orthodontists. After completing a General Practice Residency at Stony Brook University Hospital, Dr. Weinstein returned to New York City for his post-doctorate at NYU Orthodontics. There he was a clinical instructor in radiology and Invisalign and helped develop and evaluate a competency-based course in pre-doctoral orthodontics. Dr. Weinstein has lectured at dental study clubs.
Aside from lecturing to dental students and post-graduate residents, Dr. Weinstein is board certified, a published author and certified in Invisalign and LingualCare. He has an Associate Fellowship through the World Clinical Laser Institute, Standard Proficiency Certification through the Academy of Laser Dentistry, and a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, Northeastern Society of Orthodontists, New York State Dental Association, as well as the Suffolk County Dental Society. He is Top 1% Diamond Plus Provider.
Dr. Mike Cotzas grew up in upstate New York. He attended New York University where he majored in biology as an undergraduate. Dr. Cotzas went on to Columbia University, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. He completed a General Practice Residency at New York Hospital Medical Center of Queens. Dr. Cotzas completed his post-doctoral training in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at Montefiore Medical Center.
Dr. Patricia Ortiz is very passionate and dedicated to Orthodontics. She is committed to provide the highest level of care tailored to the needs of each patient. She has great satisfaction helping her patients achieve better oral health and beautiful smiles.
Dr. Ortiz was born and raised in Puerto Rico. She attended University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Cell Biology and graduated Magna Cun Laude. She continued her education at University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus where she graduated at the top of her class, and obtained her Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree. Dr. Ortiz furthered her education at Bronx Lebanon Hospital in New York where she completed a General Practice Residency. She then completed her post-doctoral training in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at Bronx Care Health System.
Dr. Ortiz is current with all of the latest techniques and theories in the practice of orthodontics and strongly believes in attending continuing education courses. She is a Board Certified orthodontist. She is an active member of the Northeastern Society of Orthodontists, American Dental Association and the American Association of Orthodontists.
Dr. Kuriakose grew up in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Georgia Institute of Technology and Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from University of Detroit Mercy in Michigan. She continued her education in an additional 3 year advanced training program in Orthodontics and obtained her Master of Science degree from University of Washington in Seattle. While in school, Dr. Kuriakose has been involved in many scientific research projects and has published articles in dentistry journals. Dr. Kuriakose is a Board-Certified Orthodontist, an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists and continues her learning through Orthodontic conferences and continuing education courses.
