Digital X-rays offer a huge advantage in early detection and preventive services. Advanced image manipulation and analysis, for example, allows your doctor to detect early stages of gum disease through recognition of bone level changes, or by evaluating the results against a previous treatment.

An intraoral camera is an indispensable diagnostic and educational tool. The tiny video camera moves around inside of your mouth and generates a tooth by tooth video exam of your teeth. Using an intraoral camera allows patients to better understand their dental needs by seeing what the dentist sees and then having it explained.

Lasers are a non-surgical approach to arresting the progression of periodontal disease. Following scaling and root planing, a laser is used to significantly reduce the bacterial colonies and decontaminate the infected periodontal pocket. Lasers also remove the infected tissue lining the periodontal pocket. As the infected tissue is removed, microscopic blood clots form and your body's natural healing response takes over. As you heal, the tissue reattaches to the bone and your gums return to a healthy infection-free state.

Amazing dentist if you ever get in. Four times this year they have canceled my appointments. Three time's for work on an implant and today's appointment for cleaning just got canceled a few hours before the appointment. It's so unprofessional.

Drilled too close to my root, now I probably need a root canal. Wanted me to sign up to MyChart, with an end user agreement, and would not see me without signing up.

Been going here since 2018 and so far, they have been wonderful. The team has helped me manage my oral health, which has greatly improved over the last 4 years. They offer ways to manage your payments, too.

We arrived 15 minutes early to the appointment as instructed. After 35 minutes had passed, we went up to ask how much longer it would be, and was told by a quite rude receptionist that it would be another 20 minutes, as if this was obvious. The receptionist in general talked down to us and made it seem as if we were dumb for thinking the appointment should happen within 20 minutes of the scheduled time. They also did not have $5 in change, so we now have a useless store credit for maybe one tooth's worth of whitening strips. UPDATE: it has been another hour since they told us 20 more minutes. We just went up to let them know that they have no concept of time and are pathological liars, and they were more than happy to be extremely rude again and act like we are idiots for thinking that a scheduled appointment should probably start within 2 hours of the start time. Apparently the person before us is taking a while to recover or something and they have no other place for them to recover (even tho there's tons of rooms here that at least 6 patients have gone in and out of since we've been sitting here). Can't wait to update you all again if miss orangehead receptionist can finally get her act together

I did not have a great experience here, but if you have lots of flexible free time and plenty of money, it may work for you. PROS: Office appeared clean and the machines seemed to be in good working order. Staff is very friendly & compassionate. The dentist I spoke with was kind & understanding. She thoroughly explained my situation in an easy to understand manner. CONS: Poor communication between staff. I specifically asked on the phone if one or both of my procedures could be done during my visit, I was told yes. Once I was there, I was told no. Not because my issue was more complicated but because the front desk staff should have never said yes to me. I took time off of work and drove from North Hollywood for nothing essentially. Expensive. Even with my insurance covering 80% they wanted $1000 out of pocket for a deep cleaning. I've never heard of it costing that much. But maybe they have some new technology that justifies that price. Inconvenient. For a tooth extraction they require someone else to drive you, wait 2-3 hours and then drive you home. I've had an extraction before and was able to drive home on my own. I've had other medical procedures done and was allowed to Uber home. I can't imagine what they are doing that is so intense that you need someone out in the waiting room and you can't be around anyone you don't know afterwards. My last issue was that the dentist said she could do a surface level cleaning as a "courtesy". Them having my car washed while I'm inside would be a courtesy. I'm at a dentist office, paying for a cleaning, how is the cleaning a courtesy? EDIT: Also, despite me being in a fair amount of pain and her telling me that my gum issue was severe enough to need antibiotics, she never sent a prescription to my pharmacy as she said she would.

Very poor for making immediate dentures. Will not coming back here.

They're not enforcing the mask mandate, which means the disabled and others who are avoiding cooties during a surge get to wait outside. When I complained, they said the corporate office (see below) won't let them enforce it. They have apparently been acquired by some conglomerate, so they have a new tedious check in process that has to be completed on a smartphone. And they have to have a photo for my chart now, which I outright refused.

The care I've received here is fine, I have no complaints other than the prices being usurious, and the difficulty booking appointments since the pandemic, which are probably true everywhere. What really annoys me is the nincompoops in their office who hounded me to fill out a long and unreadable online form, all information they already had, to facilitate their adoption of new office software. Additionally, they routinely bother my wife at work about my appointments, even though I only supplied that number for emergency purposes. I think they're confused about which of us is the customer. You want to use new software? YOU fill it out, you're being paid to do clerical work. I'd have a hard time recommending this dental office.

After the pandemic, I was so concerned about my teeth, because, I hadn't been to the dentist in over 2 years. This dental office has always been the best starting with Dr. Garfinkle. He is the best, talented, lite handed, honest dentist, I've ever had to date. Today I received a deep cleaning that was relatively painless, with no anesthesia. Ramona, the oral hygienist, was absolutely excellent, on all levels. She explained everything clearly, and made me feel comfortable. She has very light hands. She was kind, knowledgeable in her craft, and very considerate. She made me feel safe for her to do an excellent job. Thanks Northridge Dental Office for all you do, starting with the pleasant, helpful ladies at the front desk, to all who I see throughout the entire office.

As a first time patient after 25 years with my prior dentist, I was nervous changing but due to Medicare..I needed to change. I had a fabulous experience here with Dr. Garfinkle, Hector and the staff. Professional, friendly and knowledgeable and within a few hours, I had a much needed new crown that looks and feels great! Thank you to all the staff for making me feel comfortable and look forward to future visits!
