Our goal has always remained the same to create smiles that improve people's quality of life and that they're proud to show off. We strive every day to make the dental experience simpler, more comfortable, and more enjoyable than anticipated.

We are grateful for our wonderful patients who have welcomed us into their families and who are confident in referring their extended family, friends, and coworkers to us. Taking the time to build these relationships and the joy felt by the patient when problems are solved is why we do what we do

Dr. Rubin specializes in employing state-of-the-art technology to aid in diagnosis and problem-solving. He has advanced training in the utilization and customization of CEREC one-visit ceramic restorations as well as orthodontic training from Long Island University. He has completed more than 1800 hours of continuing education with an emphasis on implantology and restorative dentistry.

A Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, Dr. Rubin is also a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and the Academy of Osseointegration. He is an active member of the Suffolk County Dental Society and an Associate member of New York County Dental Society.

Dr. Rubin has been married toDeborah for42 years. She has been involved behind the scenes at Northport Family Dental since it first opened in 1984. Her handiwork is evident in the constantly changing decorations in our Reception Area. They have threeamazing children, all married.Four grandchildren, who are the source of constant wonder and excitement, complete the circle.

In Dr. Rubins free time, he enjoys reading, gardening, travel, photography, listening to music and playing guitar. He owns an extensive selection of vinyl, specifically jazz, classic rock, and classical music.

Dr. Olivia Quinn received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Fairfield University in Connecticut and graduated with honors, magna cum laude. At commencement, she received the Award for Distinguished Work in the Natural Sciences and Mathematics.

After receiving her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from New York University College of Dentistry, she continued her training and patient care through a general practice residency program at the VA Hospital in Manhattan. Beyond the broad range of clinical experience, Dr. Quinn says, 'I had a rewarding experience caring for our veterans who have bravely served our country.'

Dr. Quinns friendly and professional demeanor comforts her patients while they receive quality dental care. Educating her patients is paramount in providing treatment options and involving patients in the decision making process. She is eager to listen to her patients and address their various dental needs. She is also a member of the American Dental Association, Suffolk County Dental Society, and New York State Dental Association.

Dr. Quinn enjoys spending time with her baby, Caroline, and her husband, Bryan. She enjoys cooking, photography, crocheting, socializing with friends, and taking walks with her two Boston Terrier dogs, Harry and Cheese.

One of my favorite parts of this job is the relationships I create with our patients. Usually, I am the first contact they have with the office; they depend on me to address their needs, whether it's regarding payment plan, treatment plan, insurance questions, a toothache, or just plain concern. Being in the dental field for over 25 years is very helpful and I enjoy assisting their questions with confidence.

There is nothing more gratifying then turning that apprehensive, scared-of-dentist patient into a relaxed and comfortable one. I truly love my job when I have a new patient walk into the office afraid to smile (because they dislike theirs so much) and then watching them come up to the front desk after treatment, so confident and glowing with their new beautiful new smile. I'm so proud to be a part of Northport Family Dental.

I am a graduate of SUNY Farmingdale and have been with Dr. Rubin for 26 years. I happen to be in a position I really enjoy and have had the pleasure of working with skilled, dedicated, caring doctors and fellow staff. I enjoy the relationships that Ive formed with our patients and their families over the many years we have been seeing each other. I expect to continue enjoying my job and caring for my patients for many years to come.

Christine grew up, and lives in West Islip. She received her hygiene degree from Farmingdale State College.During her studies she was a member of the Student American Dental Hygienists Association board and received an award for her outstanding contributions from the Long Island Dental Hygienists Association. When not working, Christine enjoys being with her husband and two sons, and attending her sons' sporting events. In her free time she likes to cook, spend time with her family and in the spring and summer she enjoys the beach and gardening.

Shannon earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology/ Exercise Science from SUNY Cortland. She then continued her education at SUNY Farmingdale earning her Dental Hygiene degree. Shannon is originally from Westchester, NY and moved to the island in 2016. Shannon and her husband recently bought a home in Smithtown, NY and has enjoyed exploring the north shore by visiting restaurants and parks. They are excited to welcome their very first furchild (a mini golden doodle) in January 2019!

I have worked as a Dental Assistant for 18 years and have been with Northport Dental for six of those years. What I love about my job is watching our patients walk out of our office with a smile on their face, whether it's because they came in with fear or because they just don't like their smile. As a team, Dr. Rubin, Dr. Quinn and I engage them in conversation, helping themto put their mind at ease.

Dr. Rubin's and Dr. Quinns attention to detail results in great work. People walk out smiling, because the quality of the work makes them happy and loving their smile. I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so working with doctors who won't accept anything less than perfect is my biggest satisfaction. And when our patients are happy, I'm happy.

Northport Family Dental is the current occupant of the Captain Henry Frank Smith house, built in 1890. It had been previously owned by Richard Gildersleeve . Captain Smith married Sarah Gildersleeve in 1870. Captain Smith sailed the 'Helen A. Brown', a L.I. Sound packet as well as other boats, most owned by Jesse Carll of the Carll shipyards.

In 1906, it was purchased by Dr. Frank Quackenbush, who was the leading Dentist in Northport. He opened offices in 1898 and was married to Susan Sammis in 1904. He was President of the Northport School Board and it was through his efforts that 3 districts; Eatons Neck, Northport and East Northport were united into 1 district in 1922.

The building was converted to offices in 1978 and the Fort Salonga Travel Agency occupied the building for many years. Dr. Rubin purchased the property in 1996 and moved his existing Northport dental practice into 265 Main in 1998. An 1100 square foot first floor addition wraps around the original footprint. Although any significant interior architectural details were removed when the building was commercialized, Dr. Rubin restored and renovated with the goal of reflecting turn-of-the-century old world craftsmanship.

As you walk through the office, from front to back, you are literally walking through time. The Reception Area has been restored to reflect a homes' parlour of the time. As you enter the clinical area, you arrive back to the present day and to 21st Century Dentistry.

The only doctor I'm not nervous to visit. I actually like going there! Who can say that about their dentist? The best.

My boys, 10 and 12, continually rave about their experiences after every single visit. They have used words like "so happy", "love", "fun and cool"!

Staff very personable and attentive. Dreaded that I was in for some massive pain to have a broken tooth with cavity repaired and filled, but all was done with extreme courtesy & accomplished skill. I recommend this office to anyone, especially anyone who puts off getting dental care out of fear or anxiety. Both the hygienist and the dentist explained every step and included me in on my treatment plan, helping me understand the cost as well BEFORE starting my treatment. I cannot recommend highly enough.

I love Dr. Rubin and everyone in the office. They treat me with respect and do everything they can to make me comfortable and relaxed - despite knowing I hate getting cleanings and dental work done!

First time. So far so good. Spent time explaining issues. Fortunately not too many. Slight equipment issue but did not seem to make any difference. Comfortable, welcoming office with modern fixtures and a view of....Deer.... Would recommend!
