Dr. P. Shannon Allison earned his dental degree from LSU School of Dentistry in 1988. He then entered the U. S. Army on active duty from 1988-1992. During this time, he served our country in Operation Desert Storm with the 3rd Special Forces Group in Kuwait. Currently, Dr. Allison serves in the National Guard in support of 20th Group Special Forces. Since 1992, Dr. Allison has been practicing General Dentistry in Mandeville, LA. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Louisiana Dental Association, and the Northlake Dental Association. He is an active volunteer providing dental services during mission trips to Burma, Sudan, Guatemala, Haiti, Iraq, and Syria. Dr. Allison serves on the Board of Directors for Christ School (Arden, NC), Louisiana Area Health Education Center, and Free The Oppressed (which supports the Free Burma Rangers). Dr. Allison enjoys cycling, ultramarathon running, and restoring old cars. He resides in Covington with his wife. They have four adult children, two of whom have chosen to follow in dental careers. Dr. Allison is an active member of First Baptist Church of Covington and serves in various capacities in the community of St. Tammany Parish.
Dr. Allison is a graduate from LSU School of Dentistry. He was awarded the Comprehensive Dentistry and Prosthodontic Dentistry Awards for the Dental Class of 2019. Dr. Allison is recently married to Dr. Blades and plans to raise his family in the Mandeville area. He enjoys sports of all kinds, especially basketball and football. Dr. Allison loves to be outdoors, hunting, camping and mountain biking.
Dr. Blades is a graduate from LSU School of Dentistry. She was born and raised in Baton Rouge, but loves to call Mandeville home. Dr. Blades is married to Dr. Brandon Allison. She played softball at LSU earning All-SEC and All-Louisiana honors. She loves to be outdoors working in her garden, going to the beach, and being on the water.

I've seen every dentist here at one point or another and they are all so skilled and compassionate! I would literally never go to another dentist unless I had no other option.

Can't recommend this place enough, I drive two and a half hours for every appointment because I haven't found any place that compares to Northlake Dental! Very knowledgeable and kind staff, they always do an excellent job.

This is the first time in my long life where I can say I had a great experience at the dentist. Yes, they have the training and experience you need for whatever your dental needs are...but more importantly they give 100%, take pride in what they do and have the empathy that you wish every dentist was born with. You will not be disappointed.

My front tooth was knocked out as a teenager. The porcelain tooth replacement however did not allow me to totally close my teeth together. 25 years later and numerous other dentist visits completed, I go to Northlake dental to see Dr. Blaydes to find whether or not she would validate or not validate the advice of the 2 prior dentists I went to regarding the stability of the porcelain tooth. She went on the side that the tooth was stable and to remove and replace would be unnecessary. The nugget however, is that she checked my bite through having me open and close my teeth on this black chalky plastic sheet. She found that it was not that the porcelain tooth was too big but that I had a lower tooth that was in a position that protruded frontally, which would hit the porcelain tooth in my mouth closing. She shaved the lower tooth and I was able to close my teeth naturally for the first time in 25 years. It took less than five minutes to give me a natural bite back again. Other dentists did not see this. To say the least ... thank you and Good job.

Wonderful staff, great establishment!!! Great people to talk to and laugh with, seeing as they truly care about their patients. Your comfort and care is priority, and it's made known. I went on my S.O.'s recommendation, and it was well worth it. 10/10.

A couple of weeks ago, I had a slip and fall accident that resulted in the cracking of two of my front teeth. I was able to schedule an appointment in just a few days to repair my teeth. Dr. Brandon Allison performed the repairs, and they are so good that you can't tell my teeth were ever badly chipped. I've had dental work done in the past by doctors Shannon Allison and Jorge Perrera, and have always been more than satisfied with the outcome. I highly recommend Northlake Dental for all of your dental needs!
