Dr. Huy Trinh is a board certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. He grew up in Northern Virginia and graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. (Go Hokies!) Always wanting to live in New York City, he pursued his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree at New York University. After graduation, he completed a general practice residency at Saint Vincents Catholic Medical Center in New York City. He then returned to Washington, DC and completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the Washington Hospital Center. His residency program included training at Childrens National Medical Center, Johns Hopkins Medical Center, and the Veterans Affairs Hospital. There, he gained extensive training on dental implant surgery, facial trauma, as well as reconstructive and corrective jaw surgery. In his final year, he served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Trinhs clinical interests include 3D surgical planning, dental implants, facial trauma, and orthognathic (corrective jaw) surgery. He has been the principal and co-investigator of research projects related to these topics and presented his research at national conferences.
Dr. Trinh has traveled to underserved areas of South East Asia and South America for dental and surgical missions. He also participates in the Mission of Mercy Projects in both Maryland and Virginia. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and a member of the American Dental Association and Northern Virginia Dental Society. He has hospital privileges at The Washington Hospital Center and INOVA Fair Oaks Hospital.
In his leisure time, he enjoys staying physically active and playing competitive softball. Dr. Trinh and his wife have a daughter and son who are quite active. They also have two loving dogs, a Boxer and a Yorkshire terrier, who they refer to as Pinky and the Brain.
Dr. Oswald was born in Vietnam and migrated with her family to London, England at the age of 8. She spent most of her childhood in central London and moved to the U.S when she was 16. She attended Falls Church High School in Northern Virginia, and obtained a Bachelors degree from George Mason University where she majored in Biology and a minored in Psychology. Subsequently, she graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry (Richmond, Virginia) with the highest honor, Summa Cum Laude, and was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society.
Dr. Oswald returned to the D.C metropolitan area when she was accepted into the Washington Hospital Center for her Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency. Her training included rotations at Childrens National Medical Center, Johns Hopkins Hospital, and Veterans Affairs hospital. At these institutions, she gained a wide spectrum of training and is proficient in diagnosis and treatment of dental implant surgery, oral and facial trauma, orthognathic (corrective jaw) surgery, reconstructive surgery for pathologies of the jaw, TMD and facial pain disorders as well as dentoalveolar procedures such as wisdom teeth extractions. She also has had extensive training and is highly experienced with in-office sedations. Dr. Oswald believes that every blessing in life must be shared, therefore, some of the most rewarding moments of her career have been in many Mission of Mercy trips including multiple locations all over Virginia annually and at the free clinic where she also volunteers on a monthly basis. She received the Northern Virginia Dental Clinics Volunteer Service Award for 2018. The most memorable service trip includes the visit to the Philippines where she performed dental extractions on adults as well as repair of cleft lip and palate surgery for the local children in need.
She is currently re-focusing her practice on combining the Western (medicine/surgically based) and Eastern (holistic-based) practices to better serve and treat her beloved patients. Although she is well trained in all the above-mentioned surgical procedures, she is a huge advocate of therapeutic treatments that essentially eliminate pain and restore function with as little surgical involvement and comorbidities as possible.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending quality time with her loving husband-Mike, darling children-Katherine, Jacob, Annabelle and their doggie, Dylan. She looks forward to meeting new patients and providing quality care to the community as this is her passion.

Dr. Patel did my surgery and was truly amazing. I came to him after one week with mouth pain and he was so kind, he spent more than 30 minutes with me, helping me understand what was going with my condition and to help me feel better. He is one of the best surgeons I have ever met. 11/10 would recommend

Called in on Monday for a wisdom tooth extraction. They had an opening the following day, so I went for it. Dr. Patel is the oral surgeon who took on the task of pulling out my trouble tooth. I have to admit, I was a little nervous about the pain I might feel during and after the extraction, but Dr. Patel had an excellent "chair side" manner and made me feel more at ease as we prepared for the procedure. After giving me a local anesthetic, he pulled that puppy out as easy as ordering a cup of coffee from an empty Starbucks! And no pain whatsoever (which means they numbed me up properly). I then followed all their post-op instructions to a T in order to make every attempt in minimizing pain after the anesthetic wore off. It worked. Two full days later, the area where the tooth used to be is still on the mend, but still no pain worth mentioning. For those who are phobic about visiting dentists, Dr. Patel is a really nice guy who was genuinely concerned with my comfort level before, during and after the procedure. His sincerity was backed up by his actions. And we all know that actions speak louder than words. Highly recommend him! Note: They accepted my Metlife dental insurance so my out of pocket costs were minimal. #winning!

Dr. Patel is one of the most efficient oral surgeons I have encountered. He has extracted a few of my teeth and also put in implants for me. Every procedure has been smooth and he doesn't extend the procedure time unnecessarily so I am in and out in the most efficient time. Dr. Patel answers my questions thoroughly and also goes over the treatment plan and how he will proceed specifically referring to X-rays/photos. He sets clear expectations on what to expect as a patient. He has a pleasant bedside manner and I know he will take care of me when I'm under his care.

Best oral surgeon ever! I have had two different procedures done at this place and both times I received amazing care. The staff is genuinely amazing and Dr.Patel is a very talented doctor. I genuinely believe that he is the best doctor in the area. I had dental implants done by doctor Patel and I honestly felt nothing during the surgery and had an amazing recovery. Both my orthodontist and my dentists were very impressed by his work. I also got teeth extractions done by him and he made the extraction as painless as possible and gave me tips on how to care for my teeth after. I cannot recommend this place enough! 10/10 amazing center!

The dentist is not my favorite, but my experience with the staff here was nothing short of fantastic! Went in for a consult, Dr Patel said he could take care of it same day. He numbed me up, yanked 2 wisdom teeth in under 5 minutes and I was out of there. The rest of the staff was so super nice and friendly. Highly recommend!

I would give 6 stars if I could. I got my impacted wisdom teeth removed here and Dr. Patel did an outstanding job with the procedure. Despite my teeth being impacted, my recovery was surprisingly painless and quick. I believe that any surgeon could have removed my wisdom teeth. But I attribute the fact that I had a smooth recovery to the fact that Dr. Patel is an amazing dental practitioner. I will be recommending this clinic to all my friends and family in need of dental care!

Dr. Patel and all of his staff were a pleasure to work with. I was very happy that he found the most cost effective ways to take care of my dental needs. The surgery was fast and as painless as possible. Throughout the surgery Dr. Patel was encouraging and making sure I felt comfortable. He called to check on me after surgery and asked if I had any questions. It was a fantastic experience going here and I highly recommend this office for all of your dental surgery needs!

Dr. Patel showed a complete lack of empathy when I went in for an implant consultation yesterday. I have a fear of dental procedures and surgery, so the comment he made to me towards the end of my appointment completely shocked me. He did not seem to respect my worries about my situation/treatment plan at all. Very unprofessional. Never coming back here again or giving them a dime more.

Doctor Patel and his entire team are GREAT!!! Best oral surgeon in Northern Virginia in my opinion. I had a wisdom tooth removed with another surgeon a few years ago and, today, Dr Patel got the remaining three out, his technique and way of working are amazing. His entire team, from front desk to assistants, are polite and super knowledgeable. They rock!

My son recently had surgery here. He needed an extraction and removal of an extra tooth. They did such a great job talking him through it and getting him calm for the procedure. He was sleeping for all that and when he woke he asked if he still needed the teeth removed also! I had been nervous thinking there would be gauze and blood in his mouth, but there was none of that! My son has had a pretty smooth healing process and I'm so thankful for them. The nurse was so sweet helping me walk him down and waiting for me to get my car as I had parked far. Definitely, highly recommend! If I ever need anything done , they are my first choice. Thank you all for the great service, you truly have exceeded my expectations.
