Dr. Naimi chose oral surgery as his profession because he wanted to have the opportunity to provide life-changing services to those in need. He is well-known in our oral surgery office for having excellent chairside manner and being able to help even the most anxious patients feel at ease during treatment. He cant imagine doing anything else!
Dr. Naimi completed both his undergraduate degree and his Doctor of Dental Surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. Following dental school, he attended a four-year residency program in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Tufts University in affiliation with the New England Medical Center in Boston. He is a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a prestigious national dental fraternity, and regularly pursues continuing education opportunities in full arch rehabilitation, facial rejuvenation, anesthesia, and other specialty topics.
When he isnt busy rebuilding smiles, Dr. Naimi enjoys being with his children, skiing, hiking, and doing various other activities outdoors. Hes also passionate about helping those in need through various community service programs! In the past, hes worked with Mission of Mercy, the Virginia Dental Association Foundation, and Operation Smile. His humanitarian work has taken him all over the world to provide critical care, including places like Jamaica, Honduras, and India
Dr. Pedram Yaghmai is a highly skilled and compassionateoral surgeon at Northern Virginia Oral, Maxillofacial & Implant Surgery, which has state-of-the-art clinics in Burke, Reston, and Alexandria, Virginia. In his approach to dental care, Dr. Yaghmai believes in working with the individual needs and preferences of his patients and maintaining effective communication with his colleagues to deliver truly comprehensive treatment plans and effective results.
Dr. Yaghmai always enjoyed working with his hands, and he wanted to find a career that utilized this skill. He chose dentistry over other medical professions because he felt that it is the perfect combination of art and science, plus he gets to build great one-on-one relationships with patients.
A native of Richmond, Virginia, Dr. Yaghmai stayed in his hometown to earn his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Virginia Commonwealth University, where he graduated in 1999. He also attended Virginia Commonwealth University for his Doctor of Dental Surgery, which he completed in 2004. After graduating, Dr. Yaghmai immediately went on to complete a residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, during which he earned his medical degree from the Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. Dr. Yaghmai maintains a special interest in TMJ surgery, sleep apnea treatments, bone grafting, and dental implants.
Dr. Yaghmai is passionate about teaching and learning and devotes a significant amount of time to staying up-to-date with current research, trends, and technology. This is why he is an active member of the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, and the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Outside of work, Dr. Yaghmai is an avid soccer fan. He not only enjoys watching the sport, but often plays in an adult league in the area. He also relaxes by playing piano, practicing yoga and meditation, and spending time with his family (including his white German Shepherd, Ghost).
Dr. Yaghmai feels it is important to give back to the community through volunteer work. He has participated in the MOM (Mission of Mercy) Project and donated his time to the Northern Virginia Free Clinic in addition to other various projects to help those less fortunate.

Let me start by saying I have great anxiety over dental examinations in general. I was referred here for a second opinion by my dentist. I was able to be seen within a week and had a great experience. The COVID precautions were part of why I chose this practice and helped me feel at ease, but so did everyone's friendly and kind demeanor from the office staff to the assistants to Dr. Ansari. I was seen quickly, felt confident about what I was told and had all my questions answered. I will return here should I have future need, and I certainly recommend this practice.

I have been going to Dr. Yaghmai for about 7 years. He is a great oral surgeon. He always fully explains the procedure he is doing and answers all my questions. He is a caring person and puts me at ease. His staff is wonderful too. I would high recommend Dr. Yaghmai!

I had the best experience here with Dr.Aslam and his dental team, specifically with Soran. Staff is incredibly nice and my teeth have healed perfectly after getting my wisdom teeth out.

Dr. Shihabi took out my wisdom teeth without a hitch. He was comforting and supportive and I was grateful to have had him do the procedure.Tay and Tavon we're the fabulous support staff who were with me for every visit, got to know me, eased my major anxieties and answered all my questions. The staff in the front office were very warm and kind people who made me feel welcome every visit. I highly recommend getting your dental procedure done at this practice.

I would highly recommend Dr Aslam, Susan his Tech Assistant, and the Burke Office staff. Everybody welcomed you to a friendly office. Dr Aslam just extracted an upper tooth molder which had chipped. He continued to tell me what he was doing as he performed the extraction. Very reassuring and painless. Great Team.

I would most definitely recommend Dr. Shihabi and his two assistants to all my friends and families. They have been most pleasant, polite and most importantly, patient in answering all my questions and concerns. During the actual procedure, all three were very encouraging and calming. They even allowed me as much break as I needed during the procedure. Dr. Shihabi was so friendly and professional. He was explaining to me each of the steps that he was doing before he did it. In the procedure of extracting my teeth and putting the implants I felt no pain at all, despite the fact that I requested local anesthesia. Kudos to Dr. Shihabi and his two assistants ( I cant remember their names though ). Please keep up the great work that you do !!! Ignacio Reyes

My son had his wisdom teeth extracted over the summer. It was the best experience my family has had with oral surgery by far. My wife has Parkinson's and is an invalid. The staff and surgeon adapted to her circumstances wonderfully well. The extraction was quick, producing no bad reaction from my wife at all. We have had excellent service and treatment in both the Burke and Reston locations. Dr. Yaghmai and Dr. Aslam have both been a total pleasure to work with. We wouldn't take our oral surgery issues anywhere else.

I can understand why NOVA Oral Surgery is rated so highly. While the Doctors get the all the attention and accolades, it is the staff, (Ginny, Kelly & Susan), that really make the difference. They were friendly and informative, answering all questions and insuring my comfort (even providing a blanket) before, during and after the procedure. Could not be happier.

Very professional service. My daughter had all 4 wisdom teeth removed with one that had the root beginning to impact the nerve. Nurses Lisbeth and Susan went out of their way to explain what to expect on day of surgery and made her very comfortable. Dr. Aslam did an excellent job.
