Our dentist is an Aroostook County native and is proud to serve generations of families from the community she grew up in. Throughout the years, we have built a reputation for compassionate services we have patients that have moved as far away as southern Florida who come home for their dental care!
We are passionate about helping our patients improve their oral health, while providing them with the care and resources they need to understand their treatment options. Our hygienists have over 100 years of combined experience and provide techniques targeted to each patients individual needs.
Dr. Thompson, a Caribou native, returned home to join Dr. Smiths practice in 2017 after graduating from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Upon graduating from Tufts, Dr. Thompson was recognized by the Charles Tufts Society for returning to Northern Maine to practice dentistry. Prior to attending Tufts, Dr. Thompson earned her B.A. in psychology with a minor in pre-dental studies from the University of Maine. Dr. Thompson is thrilled to have returned to her hometown to serve the community so near and dear to her heart.

All the staff were very nice and friendly. They ensured I knew what to expect and made me feel very comfortable. The office is very nice, modern, and comfortable. Highly recommend their services if you are in need of dental care.

I must admit I was a little anxious when Dr Smith decided to retire. He was my dentist from the first day he started practicing in Caribou. Unlike a previous dentist I had, he was very honest, kind & professional. What a great service he did for the community in selling his practice to Northern Maine Dental. We are SO fortunate to have local citizens take over his practice. Since the takeover, I have had Dr Meagan Thompson perform extensive work on my teeth. She is a very skilled, proficient, honest and caring dentist. In one case I had a dire emergency and she was right there to help me on her day off along with Cheryl. It was a challenging situation but she handled it in a most professional and caring way. I was so thankful. Her assistant Sarah, the Northern Maine Dental hygienist and all office staff are truly remarkable.

I had a cleaning done today at Northern Maine Dental clinic with the dental hygienist Sue. It was such a relaxing and a wonderful experience. Sue is so knowledgeable and she was very patient at answering all my many questions! All the staff that I was in contact with were really friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is so relaxing, a very welcoming place. I heard that Dr. Meagan contributed at the interior decorating of this lovely place. How blessed we are to have Dentist Thompson and her team be a part of our region! I greatly and highly recommend Northern Maine Dental! Many thanks for your service!

Entering in the frort door of the Northern Maine Denta Officel you are greeted by a beautiful modern office with comfortable chairs and couch in a calming and inviting waiting room. The front office staff are welcoming and helpful . Dr. Thompson is friendly and professional and explains procedures thoroughly to her patients. I had the pleasure of visiting Haley one of the dental hygienists on staff today. Her warm and friendly demeanor made me feel welcome and at ease . Wonderful Staff who I highly reccomend.

Very nice new office. New office is much quieter and affords greater privacy and comfort for the patients. Staff at all levels are very courteous and professional. My hygienist, Lori, is excellent at what she does and keeps me well informed about anything she sees and makes practical helpful suggestions.

I'll start by saying that I'm not the easiest patient. I have a bleeding condition that can make dental care challenging at times. I also clench/grind my teeth a lot which is altering the bone in my jaw greatly. Dr Thompson and all her staff members are wonderful. They are very kind, professional, and easy to talk to. My cleanings and exams have been thorough and very comfortable. They do a great job explaining all information and teaching what I can do on my end. The office is beautiful and very organized. It's incredibly clean and bright. It's also very spacious and comfortable to move through. They have taken great care of me and truly listen to help find the best solutions for my dental care needs.

I had a wonderful experience at bmy new dentist Dr. Megan Thompson. My hygienist, Cheryl, was fantastic. She did a wonderful job cleaning my teeth and on top of that I had a periodontal exam. My visit was fantastic!! I'm sending my husband there as well.
