We do this by providing health care services in the medically underserved, three-county region of northeastern Vermont, known as the Northeast Kingdom. NCHC provides quality care to over 17,000 individuals; nearly one-third of the regions residents. Over 65,000 encounters are made each year through a rural network of five community health centers, three dental practices, a Medicare-certified home care and hospice division, and partnerships with three different hospitals and several human services organizations.

Northern Counties Dental Center - General dentist in Hardwick, VT

NCHC was the first FQHC in Vermont and has a rich history and tradition of innovation in caring for our friends and neighbors. We were the first to integrate oral health; a pilot site for Vermonts Blueprint for Health; and the first in the state to become a certified Patient Centered Medical Home.Additionally, we are committed to ensuring NCHC is at the forefront of Vermonts healthcare innovations as we progress. We provide complete, compassionate care for the whole family, in our home or yours.

Spread across 50 states and all U.S. territories, more than 1,150 Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) provide vital primary care to more than 17 million Americans with limited financial resources. They maintain an open-door policy, providing treatment regardless of an individuals income or insurance coverage. FQHCs serve community residents from all walks of life, including people enrolled in employer-based insurances, Medicare/Medicaid, or public health insurances. We also serve people with limited resources who struggle to access care through traditional channels, including the homeless, residents of public housing, migrant farm workers and others with emergent and chronic health care needs.

The PCMH, or medical home model is an approach to providing comprehensive primary care for children, youth and adults that facilitates partnerships between patients, their physicians, and when appropriate, their families. View video about Patient Centered Medical Homes.

Made an appointment for this morning on the 6th and when I arrived was told my appointment wasn't for two more days. Okay...don't think I would've taken the morning off from work and driven for over an hour of I didn't think I he an appointment. Nothing could be done apparently so I wilnot be returning.

What was nice turns to hell. A painful hygenist. Upon discussion receptionist is rolling in laughter. Management says that's just the way it is.

I went in with an incredibly awful cavity that had completely overtaken my bottom moller. It was clear to me that the tooth needed to be extracted, however in an obvious attempt to collect more money from my insurance company the dentist I saw insisted that the tooth could be drilled and filled with a temporary filling. Against my better judgment I agreed to let him try and save the tooth...Boy was that a stupid move. When I went back in to have the work done it was clear to me from the start that Dr. Lovejoy was in a hurry to get the filling over with. When he completed his work he insisted that there would be little to no pain after the numbing agent wore off so there would be no need for any kind of pain medication...That was complete BS!! I was in such unbearable pain for a week after that I was unable to eat, sleep or hardly even drink anything at all, and of course I was out of state on vacation the entire time!! Ever since I had the work done the affected tooth has been an issue. I to this day can't chew on the right side of my mouth due to the pain it causes and the frailty of the tooth. Now, almost a year later I find out that Dr. Lovejoy was in such a hurry to get out of his chair that he didn't get all of the cavity and rot out before he went ahead and put the filling over it, so I am now going through the unthinkabley agonizing pain all over again as my tooth is rotting from the inside out!! Now on top of it all they won't see me to resolve the issue because I missed one appointment that was scheduled 6 months back...Needless to say I won't be going back to tthis dentist office again.
