Dr Whetman impressed me with his professionalism and care. He gave me several options and did not oversell anything which was greatly appreciated. It appeared to me that he truly cared about the best outcome for me.

Forgot to ask an important question to Dr. Whetman during my appointment. Called the office and talked to Karen his receptionist. She assured me she would ask the Doctor and get back to me. She called me back the very same day. Very pleased with their patient follow-up.

I simply can't give any dental appointment 5 stars, since I dread them. That being said, I liked Melissa a lot. It was the first time we were paired as patient/dental hygienist. She was kind, personable, knowledgeable, and sensitive to my dental sensitivity. My teeth and gums were pristine after my appointment. I left with additional advice on keeping them that way. I'm not sure I could provide a better report. Once again, high marks for AZ Perio and their very capable staff!

Dr. Whetman at AZPerio, in Sedona, performed a costly and completely unnecessary dental procedure on me, for which I had to pay almost $4,000, WEEKS IN ADVANCE. I needed to have an implant to replace a lost tooth on my upper left side to facilitate chewing. I also didn't realize that I'd have to have another dentist create and put the replacement tooth over the titanium implant stem. A few months later, I went to another dentist in Sedona, Dr. Roy Daniels, who I learned is many years senior to Dr. Whetman in experience. He did what Dr. Whetman had FAILED to do. He took impressions of my teeth and had a complete model made. He then showed me that it was pointless to finish the implant as it wouldn't function for chewing and, in fact, would probably break off due to the movement of the jaw. Had Dr. Whetman done this relatively simple - and far less costly - procedure I would've been saved a lot of money and the dental procedure. Dr. Whetman had also already scheduled another implant for the right side, where I have a similar situation. He did this in violation of his own protocol to do an evaluation after three months. Due to Dr. Whetman's unwillingness to refund my money for the unnecessary procedure, I've had to file a complaint with the AZ State Board of Dental Examiners, to whom I have provided the photos of the model made by Dr. Daniels. Dr. Daniels also learned from Dr. Whetman that I would lose two other teeth on which he had done another expensive procedure. I was shocked to learn that news from Dr. Daniels...not from Dr. Whetman. Adding insult to injury, when I requested a refund from Dr. Whetman, he dismissed my concerns and said he'd didn't get back to me sooner because...his DOG had been sick. So, with total dental costs of over $6,000 for all of the procedures - which I had to prepay - Dr. Whetman showed that, in addition to being in a hurry to make money off of me, his concerns about his dog superseded his professional concerns for the well-being of his patient.

The staff and doctor were very friendly and customer oriented. I felt taken care of, which allayed any fears or concerns I might have had. These people are top knotch in their skills and customer service.

I had a tooth pulled on Monday morning. Setting up the appointment at the last minute was a very positive experience. Amy was extremely help[full and her personality made you feel very comfortable. When I arrived at the office on Monday I was made to feel at home even though there is always a lot of paperwork to fill out. When it was time to see Dr. Whetman, the staff performed their duties meticulously and in the best "bedside manor". Dr. Whetman explained the procedure thoroughly and recommended the bone replacement graft to protect my gums in case I wanted to replace the tooth with an implant later. When it was time to extract the tooth I had been anesthetized and I was ready. The extraction took very little time and there was NO pain. Prescriptions were sent to my pharmacy before I left for pain, mouth rinse and an antibiotic for infection. It has now been 60 hours since the procedure and I still have had NO pain. It has been a pleasure to have them serve me! Carl E. Nelson

My most recent visit was in May of 2020. I was somewhat apprehensive due to the Covid-19 threat. But the staff at AZ Perio has done a superb job of protective themselves and their patients, particularly in the way that they are scheduling appointments. Separate and apart from the current situation, I have always found Dr. Whetman and the entire staff to be pleasant, very knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. If I could give AZ Perio a ten star rating, I would!

Everyone at AZ Perio was friendly, professional, and thorough. I felt cared for and taken care of. They provided me with lots of information, answered all of my questions, and provided excellent care.
