First and foremost, we believe that people should have their own healthy teeth for an entire lifetime. To support that belief, we subscribe to a program of preventive dental care. It is also our belief that the prevention of disease is far more enjoyable, less costly and more comfortable for all concerned. So our goal is to help you achieve and maintain a healthy mouth as quickly and as economically as possible.
In 2002, Dr. Nuzum graduated magna cum laude from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry and completed a combined three year fellowship and endodontic residency, earning his masters degree. His graduate research involved the study of various protocols for the introduction of profound local anesthesia in endodontic procedures. In 2010, at The National Conference for the American Association of Endodontists, Dr. Nuzum received the First-Place Award in an international competition for his masters research in anesthesia. This research was then published in the June 2010 issue of the Journal of Endodontics.
Dr. Nuzum has served both as a full-time faculty member and as a clinical teaching assistant at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry, instructing in pain management, emergency diagnoses, and endodontic procedures over predoctoral students. After more than 11 years at The Ohio State University, one could describe him as a true Buckeye. He resides in Wooster with his family, of which he is the blessed father of 5 children and the fortunate husband of his high-school sweetheart.
Dr. Balzer was born and raised in Strongsville, Ohio. He then attended The Ohio State University where he received both his bachelors of science in zoology and his subsequent doctorate of dental surgery. It was during his tenure at Ohio State where he met his wonderful wife, Kara, who also hails from northeast Ohio.
After graduation from dental school, Dr. Balzer practiced for three years before returning for his post-doctorate residency in endodontics. In 2018, he received his Endodontic Certificate and Masters of Science degree from The Ohio State University endodontic program. As a post-doctoral student, his research focused on management of dental pain. Dr. Balzer is a member of the American Association of Endodontists and is pursuing diplomate status.

I needed a root canal & was very nervous. But the staff at Northeastern Endodontic was so kind & comforting, it was not scary at all. I highly recommend them.

The staff were so nice and helpful! Dr. Frederick M. Nuzum is an amazing doctor I would recommend to anyone. He kind, explained things, professional, nice, and made sure I was comfortable through a lengthy proceedure. Great office, doctor, and staff!

As a vacation resort I'd give them 1 star for their very friendly staff, but that's it. As a place to get a root canal done, solid 5 stars. The doctor wasn't in a huge hurry and waited for the anesthetic to fully take effect before he started work. I know this is normal nowadays, but man is it appreciated. After that it was just a methodical march to the finish line. I hope I never see them again, but you should.

As most people, I have terrible dental anxiety. Right from the start They had the most friendly staff I have ever encountered! The Dr. As well as the assistants ensured I knew what was going on and that I was comfortable. All of my life I heard horror stories about root canals and feared them for as long as I can remember. I felt nothing! Even the numbing injections were painless! Although I hope to never need a root canal again, I would recommend this practice to anyone in need. Thank you for being so kind and helping with my dental anxiety!

What a wonderful place. The receptionist has a great personality, helpful, and even pointed out where the bathroom was knowing I drove a good distance. The lady who helped get me ready, Carla, I think it was, explained everything ahead of time, got me comfortable, and told me that if I needed anything during my root canal procedure like suction or felt any pain to just raise my hand. She took a few x-rays to help the doctor out. Then the Dr. came in. Dr. Balzer first told me what was going to happen and explained the situation with the tooth in question. Then, he got me numbed up. Now, I have gotten shots in the upper part of my mouth before...they are the worst, but he is an expert...I barely felt a pinch of pain. As he worked, he quietly explained what he was doing at each step along the way of the root canal. Finally, at the end of the procedure, he again asked if I had any questions, and went off on his way. I know today is a busy day for him, but he took his time, and did an excellent job making me at ease. All the staff did. Lastly, I was shown an x-ray of the tooth afterward and Carla explained what my general dentist would do to follow up, gave me some complimentary advil and tylenol (not peanuts :D), and took me up to the desk to finish with things. It is scary going for a major procedure like a root canal, but I felt very at ease with the people here. I definitely recommend them.

Staff were very friendly. My appt was on time. Dr. Explained each step before proceeding during my procedure. I had a sharp edge of tooth exposed after my root canal (I discovered after pain meds wore off). I called and the the staff had me come right in to have that sharp edge buffed off. So helpful! I highly recommend Northeastern Endodontic Specialists!

I was nervous about going to a new dentist for root canal, but Dr. Balzer and his staff made me feel very comfortable in spite of the fact he was working in my mouth for a good hour. I liked how everything was explained to me in terms I could understand. Both Dr. Balzer and his staff worked well together and made my trip to the dentist an experience I didn't dread. Not that I'm in any rush to return... but if I have to, I will not mind going.

I was referred to them by my dentist and I am glad I went there. They set me up with an appointment very with in a week of my dentist appointment. I was welcomed right away and was taken back to the room for my procedure. It took them 30-45 mins to get it done. Very happy how everything went and would recommend them to anyone.

One of the best dental experiences I have ever had. I am not a dentist likeable person? But I never felt more comfortable in this office and with Dr. Nuzum and his staff. They treated me like family and I had only met them once. I would reccomend them to anyone. Thank you Dr. Nuzum!!!

The Dentist and staff were very professional and courteous and went above and beyond my needs. I am 79 years old and on fixed income. The price was keeping with the average for this form of dentistry. My only wish is that the aged could get a discount.
