He received his Doctor of Medical Dentistry from the Oregon Health and Sciences University (OHSU) in Portland with Academic Honors and the Rose Award for Patient Excellence. He was elected to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Fraternity upon graduation. A member of Delta Sigma Delta, he was elected to the position of Grand Chapter President following dental school. In 2006, OHSU awarded him a Masters of Science in Orthodontics and Craniofacial Orthopedics and aCertificate in Orthodontics with distinction.In November of 2015, Dr. Matt was elected a Fellow of the International College of Dentists.

He served on the faculty of the Dental School as apublic healthdentist and served in an inner city dental clinic sponsored by the University where he treated and cared for Portland's terminally ill, homeless, and medically compromised patients.

Dr. Matthas served as President of the Greater Woonsocket Dental Society. He is presently Component Director for RI tothe Northeast Society of Orthodontists. He is currently on the faculty of the Community College of RI's Dental Health Department, where he lectures and is a clinical instructor in the dental hygiene clinic.

Dr. Matt is the father of three beautiful boys. He and his wife, Stephanie, are delighted to be back in New England after spending nine years in Portland, Oregon. They now live right here in Cumberland. In his free time, Dr. Matt enjoys spending time with his family, playing hockey, and geocaching all over the Northeast with his boys.

Chris is a dental assistant with 20 plus years of experience. She started with us in March of 2015. Chris is dedicated and hard working. She's ready to take on any task we give her! Chris is also fluent in Portuguese.

Micaela is our newest orthodontic assistant! She moved here from Southern California and started working with us July of 2021. Bubbly and outgoing, Micaela does everything she can to make sure our patients leave with the perfect smile! Back in California she grew up on a farm and she can't wait to bring her two horses, Betty and Blossom to Rhode Island.
