Dr. Saalini Velamakanni (or as we all know her, 'Dr. V') grew up near St. Paul, Minnesota and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Biomedical Engineering. She then completed her dental training at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, the top dental school in the US.
After dental school, she transformed the smiles of many patients and their families in our nation's capital - Washington, DC! Over 5 years in DC, where she delivered consistently excellent results to her high profile patients, her interest in elite cosmetic dentistry ignited into a passion to achieve the best cosmetic results for her patients.
With her love of engineering and biomaterials, Dr. Velamakanni emphasizes the use of the correct dental materials and their application for your individual needs. Dr. Velamakanni is a trained general and cosmetic dentist continuously learning and gaining a deeper understanding of dentistry. She has advanced training in implant placement and restoration, veneers, Invisalign (clear braces, Pro* certification), and endodontics (root canals). She also offers state-of-the-art Zoom laser teeth whitening and has helped many happy couples get ready for their big day.
In her spare time, Dr. Velamakanni loves to travel with her husband, Amar, and spend time with family in both Minnesota and Texas. She enjoys kayaking, biking, hiking, and of course, cheering on her favorite Houston sports teams!

The Northeast Dental Staff is great about notifying me about my appointments and what to expect out of the visit. They seem to have their ducks in a row every time I visit and on most occasions its been a quick in and out. The patient experience is what draws me to this practice versus the typical chain dental clinics. I've have several treatments with Dr.Paal. She does a great job of creating treatment plans and takes time to counsel afterwards personally. It's this personal touch and care that's been worth the switch to this clinic.

Dr. V changed my life in one visit. I suffered from extreme sensitivity in my bottom teeth for years and Dr. V changed this in one smooth visit. She was incredibly kind, gentle, and gracious during my visit and I couldn't have asked for a better experience! The very first thing you notice is that Dr. V and her staff are are attentive, personable and reassuring. Dr. V discusses your situation in a clear, understandable manner. And, she discusses your options in a way that you can confidently make the most suitable option for you. Mine was a tough, complicated issue -- replacing an upper bridge and pulling an upper molar supporting the old bridge. From past experience, I expected a prolonged visit with lots of discomfort and days of painful recovery. What I got was a surprisingly short procedure with absolute minimum discomfort and almost zero recovery pain!! I only wish I had a dentist like her years ago. And, hard to believe, but I am looking forward to my next visit. Dr. V, you are the best ! Thank you.

We Love Dr V. and her staff of lovely ladies. They are cheerful and patient. My husband and I had a deep cleaning and some work done. It was quick and painless. And prices are very reasonable. We love the ladies and will return for all our dental needs!!

I have been a patient of Dr. V for a while, she's absolutely fantastic! She's quick but also very thorough, picking up what some other dentists seemed to have missed. Several of my friends even got pre-wedding whitening with her and had awesome results.

I love Dr. V! I have seen her twice at a different location for cleaning and maintenance. She has been great at reviewing the dental xrays with me and following my wisdom tooth impaction. She has also been so great about keeping an eye on my cavities and fillings. She's not one of those dentists that pushes you to get aggressive unneeded work done which I'm so thankful for. She also worked with my insurance to make sure I didn't have any payment hassles!
