Originally fromCape Town, South Africa, Dr. Turok grew up inVirginia Beach, Virginia. He received his Undergraduate degree at theUniversity of Virginiaand his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree fromVirginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry. Dr. Turok then completed a post-graduateAEGD residency (Advanced Education in General Dentistry)at theUniversity of Florida School of Dentistrywhere he received comprehensive training in advanced cosmetic and restorative dentistry, orthodontics, surgical implant placement and implant restoration.
Dr. Turok has completed extensive Continuing Education programs on cutting edge dental technologies, including courses atSpear Education-where he is a Faculty Club member,theDawson Academy,Piper- Mckee TMJ Education,The American Academy of Implant DentistryandInvisaligntraining amongst many others. He has achievedFellowship Status with theAcademy of General Dentistry, an achievement held by less than 6% of General Dentists. Dr. Turok serves as a board member ofAES (American Equilibration Society),an organization focusing onOcclusion, TMD, and Comprehensive Care.
Additional focuses have included Facially-Generated Cosmetic Treatment Planning and Dental Sleep Medicine in treatment of Sleep Apnea and Snoring. Dr. Turok is a member of theAmerican Academy of Dental Sleep Medicineand serves as The Clinical Director of Dental Sleep Medicine at the practice. His passion isDigital Smile Designwhere he is able to design his cosmetic cases and communicatethe plans digitally to patients to give them away to 'try their smile' before proceeding with any treatment. He is one of the only fewin the Chicagoland area with aSmile DesignerCertificationthroughtheSmilefyAcademy.
Outside of the dental office, Dr. Turok gives back to the community through various dental outreach programs, includingSpecial Olympics,Dental Access Days, andTeam Smile- where every year he links with the Chicago Bears to provide free dentistry for children in need. Dr. D. Milton Salzer received his D. D. S. degree from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry, where he also served on the faculty for more than 8 years, as an Assistant Professor of Prosthodontics and Oral Diagnosis. For 15 years he was on the Adjunct Medical Staff of Methodist Hospital of Chicago. He has been awarded Fellowships in the Academy of General Dentistry, the International College of Dentists, and the American College of Dentists.
Dr. Salzer received the Meritorious Service Award from the Alpha Omega International Dental Fraternity, the Ted Weclew Award from the international College of Dentists, and the William F. Tower Award from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry. He also received the Distinguished Member Award for community service and service to the profession from the Illinois State Dental Society, where he continues as Editor of the Illinois Dental News. in addition, he has served in many capacities for the Chicago Dental Society Mid-Winter Meeting.
