All aboard! You will notice Dr. Copenhavers passion for trains throughout the offices, from the artwork on the walls to the actual working trains that carrypatient pictures around the treatment areas. Dr. Copenhaver is a licensed pilot and an accomplished musician, and enjoys flying when he can and playing guitar at his church, St. Jude, and other venues around Allen and McKinney.
Dr. Copenhaver began his education with a full music scholarship to Texas Christian University, from whichhe graduated with a major in biology and a minor in music. He went on to the University of Texas Dental Branch, where he received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery, and then to Temple University School of Dentistry for orthodontic specialty training and his Master of Science in dentistry.
While serving in the United States Air Force, Dr. Copenhaver was stationed in Germany and at the Air Force Academy, where he practiced general dentistry, oral surgery, and maxillofacial reconstruction, and served as an orthodontic instructor until he retireda full Colonel and veteran of Desert Storm.
In 1988, Dr. Copenhaver moved his beautiful wife Lindsey to Allen. He and his wife have been blessed to raise three wonderful daughtersAlex, Dionne, and Kyaland now enjoying watching their five grandchildren being raised here in the community they love.
Born and raised in Mexico City, Mxico, Dr. Nurko obtained his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Universidad Nacional Autnoma de Mxico in 1992. He then completed a three-year pediatric dentistry residency, and earned a Master of Science in dentistry at the University of Alabama in Birmingham in 1996.
Dr. Nurko served on the faculty at the University of Texas Health Science Center of San Antonio for five years as an assistant professor of pediatric dentistry. He earned his board certification from the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry in 2002, and was recertified in 2013.
In addition to his commitment to private practice, Dr. Nurko has been very active in research and academics. He lectures at variouslocal study groups, dental societies, and internationally. Since 2007, he has been involved with the North Texas Give Kids a Smile program, for which he servedas chairmanin 2011 and 2012. He is cofounder of the Smile Change Lives Texas chapter and the North Texas Hispanic Dental Association.

My daughter Bailey absolutely loves Dr. Copenhaver and all of his staff!! She just finished her phase 1, to open up some room in her crowded mouth. We were given an estimate of about 10 months and it was spot on She started her process end of June 2016 and finished end of March 2017. Bailey has a beautiful smile all thanks to Dr. Copenhaver!!! I refer everyone that is searching for an orthodontic provider to Dr. Copenhaver!! 10/21/2022 Update: Bailey is at the tail end of phase II and will have an amazing beautiful smile all thanks to Dr. Copenhaver and his staff! 100% recommend!!

Overall amazing! And wouldn't want to go anywhere else to work on my teeth. Most trustable, honest, loving, and caring people. Over the years I've been here, I felt like if we were all family. They are super careful with your teeth. Love them so much!!! I couldn't be more happy with how my teeth look!

Amanda was able to tend to me quickly and she stayed late to ensure I got everything I needed in that appointment - certainly a breath of fresh air after a long day and coming in for a 5 o'clock appointment. Amanda and Liz are awesome and make this place worth coming to each visit! Doc always knows how to cheer you up with each joke he has on deck. this place is very punctual and clean, the schedule is flexible, I don't like that my daughters miss classes and so their appointments were always before entering school at 7 am, the staff is bilingual and very friendly, at first I took my eldest daughter and 8 years later the youngest and I had a discount for that... 100% recommended

I love this office!!! Everyone is so nice and makes you feel comfortable. I always get compliments on my smile even with the braces on. Once I get them off I know it will be even better. I highly recommend this if you need any ortho!!!

Fantastic place! Dr. Copenhaver has put together a great team that will treat you like one of their family. You'll get exceptional service and best quality orthodontic work. It's been 7 years since I've been here...and my teeth are still fantastic! I had to come back to get a quick fix on my permanent retainer. It felt like we picked up from just right after my last visit. I highly recommend NTOA if you want frustration-free long-lasting ortho work!

We found this place and couldn't be happier. The Dr is great with the kids and the techs are all phenomenal. Amanda, in particular, has helped us a few times after my sons retainer fell out. She is so patient and kind with my son and explains everything she's doing to him, step by step, which is so important to him. Dr Copenhaver has taken care of two of my kids. He is personable, knowledgeable and doesn't over-treat. Helped me with an issue when a local dentist recommended orthodontic treatment and saved me thousands of dollars. Can't say enough about his practice and his staff!
