Dr. Nelson graduated from Jasper High School in Jasper, Texas in 1976. He was president of his senior class and president of the National Honor Society. He attended Texas A & M University in College Station from 1976-1979 and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology. He attended Baylor College of Dentistry from 1979 to 1983 and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in June of 1983. That August, he established his practice on Terrell Road in Greenville. He moved his office to its present location in 1998.
Dr. Nelson is committed to continuing dental education. He earned his Fellowship (1993) and Mastership (2004) in the Academy of General Dentistry. Of the 37,000 members of the Academy of General Dentistry, only 2000 have earned master distinction since its founding in 1956. He participated in numerous postgraduate continuing education courses most notably at the Pankey Institute of Key Biscayne, Florida, The Center for Professional Development in Scottsdale, Arizona, and the MAXI-AAID implant and oral surgery residency in Atlanta and Augusta, Georgia. He is also a member of the Hunt County Study Club, the Texas Dental Association, and The American Dental Association. He currently participates in numerous hours of continuing education annually to aid in his commitment to excellence in treatment.
He is a member of numerous Dental Study Clubs, is past president of the Greenville Daybreak Rotary Club, and is actively involved at Ridgecrest Baptist Church and the Greenville Christian School. In 2004, he received the Greenville Chamber of Commerce small businessman of the year award. Dr. Nelson and his wife, Beth have four children and three grandchildren. He enjoys flying, hunting, fishing, and other outdoor activities. In addition, he and his family have participated in a number of ministry and service endeavors both at home and abroad, and will continue to do so in the future.

I went in thinking I had a good solution for my peg laterals. Dr. Nelson knew a better and permanent way to get this done. I was so thankful for his advice and can't wait to go with the porcelain crown option. Everyone was so kind; no doubt I'm in good hands here.

We moved to the area almost 2 years ago, and have been looking for an honest dentist ever since. I recently visited another dentist (not to be named) in the area for an overdue cleaning and a checkup. The hygienist told me I had 1, maybe 2 cavities starting. After my cleaning, the dentist told me I needed 10 total fillings. Did not explain anything to me, show me specific examples, or spend any time discussing with me. This immediately seemed suspicious. I called my previous dentist in Rowlett for recommendations and they told me look no further than North Texas Dental Care. From my first call with Cheri, I could tell it would be a very different experience from what I just had. I explained my situation and they immediately scheduled me for an exam to get a second opinion. Fast forward to today... I just left my appointment and couldn't be happier. Dr. Nelson, Sara, Cheri, and all others were exceptional. Thorough, honest, and sincerely friendly. I didn't get any suspicious feelings about their opinion whatsoever. Dr. Nelson took time to review every bit of his findings with me, explain his reasoning & talk about treatment. Needless to say, I do NOT need 10 fillings like the prior office said. I saw hard evidence that there is one specific cavity needing attention and one or two others to keep an eye on. I come from the auto repair industry, which often has a bad reputation of over-selling, taking advantage of people, & being dishonest. It's sad you have to feel that way about your car, much less any medical opinion. I did not have a single doubt in what they told me today. Thanks again, you have earned my family's business!

I chipped a veneer due to my bottom teeth. Dr Nelson has a very high tech office. He has a very highly trained staff. Everyone was great! My veneer is now a much stronger crown. His assistant who I should of got the name of blended the temporary crown to almost look like my other veneers by bleaching it. Looks great feels stronger already and I get my new crown in 4 weeks just cause we had to send off to a lab on this one due to color. He has his own lab to make this quicker for most. Also I watched Tv on the ceiling while Dr. Jeff Nelson quickly fixed me up. He's super fast! I live in Garland and make the drive cause I only trust him with my mouth. If you have doubts about where to go, GO TO THIS OFFICE. He's a good guy!

I went in for an intra-oral scan for clear aligners. The team was very professional and Dr. Nelson came in to look ever scan and review options for treatment plan. Looking forward to my next step in process towards straighter teeth!

The staff is very comforting and the doctor didn't listen, had a 30 mins procedure last almost 3 hours. Worst pain I've ever been in. Couldn't open my mouth fully for almost 3 weeks.

At 66 years of age and having lived in several states and other countries I've seen a lot of dentists. I've never encountered a dental office where the entire staff was as cheerful. Cheerful as they are, their competence exceeded their cheer. Always a tech-nerd, I was impressed with their technology. Ive worked in the computer industry and I appreciate the hardware & software... very cool. My first exam, this was, and I don't recall any more thorough--from the screening interview to the technology. I'm impressed. Dr. Nelson's professionalism and poise were delightful. Through our conversation he instilled confidence in me for his skills. All in all, I had fun at the dentist's office. Never thought that would be a thing. Aye, and so it is.
