Our dental team has decades of combined experience, enabling us to treat patients appropriately and efficiently. When I was seventeen, I began working at a dental office in Highland Park and thats when I realized I had a passion for dentistry. I immediately saw the impact that dentistry could have on someones life. This can be anything from transforming a patients smile, to relieving their discomfort. Educating patients on their oral heath, informing them of all treatment options, and addressing all their concerns, is my goal with every patient.
I lived my whole life in Highland Park until I left for the University of Wisconsin-Madison to start my path to become a dentist. At Madison, I received my bachelors in science. I then attended University of Illinois-Chicago Dental School and graduated in 2004. After completing my DDS degree, I practiced in two excellent dental offices for the next twelve years in Chicago. However, I knew that I always wanted to return to Highland Park to treat my family and friends and thats why Im so excited for this opportunity with North Suburban Dental.
I have been practicing general dentistry in Highland Park for over thirty years and was blessed to spend over twelve of those years side by side with my father. Upon graduating from dental school, I joined my father and brother at our family practice and have been here ever since. Excellent dentistry, continuing education, and building relationships with our patients are values that my father instilled in me and is what I pride my practice on. Our practice is family oriented and I believe that good dental health is extremely important in a persons overall health and well being. I take pride in helping and educating my patients on all of their dental needs. I also enjoy all aspects of dentistry from preventive services to cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry. I joined Webster Dental in 2016 upon the retirement of my brother and I am extremely happy to be able to continue to practice and devote my time and attention to my patients. During my free time, I enjoy golfing, traveling, and spending time with my wife and three children.

We have been back for our 6 month check with North Suburban Dental. After our initial exam. We would still highly recommend. This was our initial post: We moved to the area from out of state. I am always nervous trying to find a new dentist however, Dr Swanson and her staff at North Suburban Dental in Mundelein are the best! Everyone is so friendly, they explain everything very well and immediately put us at ease. I highly recommend!

Thank you all for the incredible care. Dr.Watson was able to fit me in for an emergency filing after my cleaning and was able to save my tooth. Thank you for caring and helping me avoid additional dental work in the future! The staff is amazing and I highly recommend this office.

I highly recommend this dental care and been visiting there for all my family members for past 6 years. They're more professional and best part is they are more caring and friendly. Once you have the online form filled out it will be a quick check-in at front desk. Hygienist had good dexterity skills and he examined every detail with patience. Later Dr. Watson walked in and she went through all the details. She was passion and knowledgeable staff. She listened and well explained the protocols for healthy teeth. With my Metlife insurance, they do cleaning, exams and routine x-ray with no additional cost, which was very beneficial for the whole family. Front desk was very ethical and she worked out in detail for my treatment with the insurance plan that I had and scheduled the best possible dates for follow-up treatment. Glad I chose North Suburban Dental for Dental care with great hospitality!!

I'm very happy and impressed with Dr. Shepherd and her staff. From the moment I walked in I felt comfortable. Iv been to a lot of dentist before, and this is the first office I'm actually looking forward to my next visit. I recommend anyone who dreds going to the dentist to make an appointment with nsd. I have never been so happy with a dentist office or it's staff! From the time I enter the office to the time I'm walk out I'm 110% satisfied! I never wait to get in, they spend the time explaining and answering questions and they really cleaning my teeth well! Then I found out they see children too and I was over the moon because I was so happy them for myself. They were awesome with my 4 year old and I'm taking my other daughter back next week! A+++ experience every time!

Had my first cleaning with Elizabeth. She was gentle and continuously asked me how I was doing. She did an excellent job and had some very good advice on how to keep my teeth in tip top shape. I look forward to seeing her again in 6 months. Dr. Shepard is awesome as well, she came in right after my cleaning was complete and did a complete exam quickly and efficiently. The front desk staff are a pleasure to work with as well. I will not hesitate to recommend North Suburban Dental to anyone looking for a dentist.

Needing a dental check up for a heart procedure, Cathy at the front desk was able to get me in within a month and gathered the approval forms from the surgeon. Dr. Watson came up with a treatment plan for my uninsured budget, then did the cleaning and polishing herself on a day when they were all busy. Very professional and courteous. Hard working and efficient.

We have been going to North Suburban Dental for over 20 years! This practice has changed names and dentists but one thing has remained...EXCELLENCE! The front office ladies are so kind and helpful and Dr. Watson is so invested in us as patients! The hygienists have AMAZING bed side manners to put anyone at ease! Our son has severe anxiety and handles going because of the care he gets there! Our whole family is so well taken care of from exams and cleanings to referrals and restoration! If I could give this establishment a Zero I would. Kathy (Office Manager) is a very very rude unprofessional employee. Blaming others for their mistake. She became annoyed when asked to produce an invoice and acted like she had no idea what that was.

Questionable work, went to see one of the dentists, had 2 corrections, and another dentist in the same facility insulted the first one's work horribly. Aside from that red flag, pricing changes based on customer and insurance, they're reluctant to tell you anything because unlike honest places that have extensive price lists that don't change , they switch it up for their own financial convenience. They get defensive about it which is another red flag, reputable establishments have no problem being straight forward, even when variation may occur. Lastly, Linda is extremely rude. Full records were requested and they were sent piece by piece, in extremely low quality (Specifications were clear). Due to Linda's reluctance to cooperate there was much back and forth for something straightforward. They never sent proper ones. Highly suggest finding an establishment that has transparent practices.

I gave this office 5 stars because they go overboard to make you comfortable and health safe. The Technician is efficient and caring. Gets the job done rather painlessly I might add. The background music is a good variety. The receptionists are also very welcoming and try to make you comfortable when you sign in. The doctor was able to do a complete check on the "soft" tissue of the mouth and around the mouth. That's a plus. I left with a new toothbrush and toothpaste and floss.

My anxiety level usually goes up when I go to the dentist, but I had the most relaxing cleaning today. I know it sounds weird, but I could have fallen asleep! That's how comfortable I was. Thanks for making it a great experience! : )
