Dr. Stamata Blanas founded North Shore Dental Associates in 1991. She has been practicing dentistry for the past twenty-five years and is the driving force behind our innovative and community-based family practice.Dr. Blanas received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana in 1985. She then attended Loyola Dental School where she graduated with honors and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society in 1989. She has also done post-graduate courses in Orthodontics and Common Sense Mechanics. Dr. Blanas is in constant touch with the modern trends in the dental profession to give the most optimal care to patients. Her rich experience in providing dental treatments for over two decades makes a difference.
Our role is to focus on being the best in what we do, by creating efficient treatment plans, and providing patient education and superlative dental care. Our goal is to create a sustainable, long- term mechanism for a healthy dental system for our patients. Warning: I was taken advantage of recently by this office during an appointment. They were looking to get a mouth guard for my tendency to grind my teeth. They then sent a pre-estimate for this said guard, which I declined via email due to the cost. I attended a secondary appointment. While I walked in, I questioned what we were doing during the appointment, and they suggested it was for an old composite filling. This is in fact not was being done, they were planning to add composite to my front teeth. There was no treatment plan and I did not consent to this procedure. I then found out that the dentist was unaware I had previously turned down the mouth guard and would not be moving forward. As it turns out, the work done to my front teeth was done because they thought I was moving forward with the guard. Which I has declined??? So the communication between myself, the clinic, and the dentist was for naught. They were not in the same page and they did not communicate to give my (the patient) the care needed. The dentist then kept complimenting my "new smile" in a way that was uncomfortable, because I was fine with my smile before. Then, as I left I was stuck paying a bill I fully could not afford and was not offered a payment plan. Moving forward with this office, I would make sure you fully ask for a treatment plan and are your own advocate, because they will take advantage if not. I would give 0/10 if I could.

Absolutely phenomenal--super clean! Dr. Blanas is gentle! Went in for teeth cleaning my teeth felt refreshed. I went back to deal with a cavity and when she injected me with the Novacaine, I didn't feel a thing. Let me repeat this, I DID NOT FEEL ANYTHING!! It was truly a wonderful experience.

Wow, Dr. Blanas is the best dentist & has the best crew that I have ever encountered in my 35+ years. Very thorough & very intelligent. I would HIGHLY recommend seeing Dr. Blanas. The environment is clean & always has enjoyable tunes on. The staff is friendly & organized. I could not say one negative thing and I have been going to Dr. Blanas semi-annually for at least five years.

I have been a patient of Dr. Blanas for about 6 months now, and give her the highest recommendation. After moving to Chicago, I did not want to go find a new dentist and put it off for as long as I could. After receiving a recommendation from a co-worker, I am glad I choose North Shore Dental Associates.
