Born & raised in rural northwestern New Jersey, Dr. Pier has lived in his second home state of Maine since 1984. He graduated from Bates College with a BS in Chemistry & married his wife, Karen, before the year was over. He graduated from Fairleigh Dickenson University School of Dentistry & after a General Practice Residency in Morristown, New Jersey, he & Karen moved to Maine where Dr. Pier joined Glen Cove Dental Associates. After 20 years of practicing with the late Dr. Michael Dougherty, Dr. Bill Barbour, Dr. Deb Endl & Dr. Mike Hersom, Dr. Pier left Glen Cove Dental Associates to open Mount Pleasant Dental Care in January 2004.

Dr. Pier was an assistant professor at the University of New England College of Dental Medicine for six years. He has also developed & presented courses throughout the United States on clinical topics related to direct composite dentistry, including the Bioclear technique, & interpersonal communication skills to teach dentists to communicate better with their patients. He is a recognized leader in the field of dentist/patient relationships as well as direct restorative dentistry. An avid continuing education devotee, Dr. Pier attends over 100 hours every yearmore than five times the required amount.

Dave & Karen have been married for over 40 years & enjoy spending time with their three sons & their families.They all enjoy outdoor sports, especially skiing, sailing & hiking. A committed Christian, Dave is an active member of the Rockland Congregational Church where he has served on many boards & committees & occasionally fills the pulpit when the pastor is away.

The daughter of a Navy dentist, Dr. Laliberte spent her early years in the U.S. Territory of Guam & then in Brunswick, Maine, before spending the majority of her childhood in Merrimack, New Hampshire. She developed an early interest in dentistry while assisting in her fathers office as a teenager. Dr. Laliberte attended the University of New Hampshire, majoring in Biology, & continued on to receive her Masters degree in 2002. After teaching biology at Noble High School for four years in North Berwick, Maine, her interest in dentistry led her to return to academia. She graduated from Tufts University School of Dentistry in 2009 at the top of her class, earning a place in the esteemed dental fraternity of Omicron Kappa Upsilonan honor only given to the top 10% of the graduating class.

Dr. Laliberte joined Mount Pleasant Dental Care in 2012. She is especially passionate about comfort in dental care & restoring her patients confidence through aesthetic dentistry & implantology. She was the first provider in Maine to work with the revolutionary & innovative CHROME GuideSmile from ROE Dental Laboratories.Her philosophy aligns with the mission of Mount Pleasant Dental Care to listen first, then deliver individualized, uncompromised care.

Dr. Laliberte married her dental school sweetheart, Doug Laliberte, in 2013. Dr. Doug is an orthodontist in Rockport at Granite Coast Orthodontics. They have two adorable boys, Wyatt & Owen. They love to travel, spend time at Sugarloaf, explore the natural world & enjoy time with family on Chickawaukie Pond. Dr. Laliberte is also an avid hiker. She has climbed all 48 of the 4,000+ foot tall mountains in New Hampshire to become a member of the Appalachian Mountain Clubs 4,000-Footer Club. They are thrilled to call this area home & look forward to becoming involved with the community.

As a child growing up in Cincinnati, Ohio, Dr. Stevens spent many hours at her dads auto trim shop, watching him fix cars & build relationships with new & old customers every day. She knew she wanted to do something similar: work with her head & her hands to serve people from all walks of life.

So, off to The Ohio State University she went. There, Dr. Stevens earned her B.A. in History with Honors & minored in Studio Art. A die-hard Buckeye, she returned to Ohio State for four more years & earned her doctorate of dental surgery at the OSU College of Dentistry. She practiced general dentistry in central Maine before joining Dr. Laliberte & Dr. Pier at Mount Pleasant Dental Care. She commits herself to being the best dentist she can be by broadening her knowledge & skills through continuing education.

In 2016, Dr. Stevens married Ben, her high school sweetheart, whose passion for all things Maine brought her from Ohio to Vacationland. Braving ticks, angry seagulls & noreasters, she has fallen in love with Maines sense of community & appreciation of the outdoors. Ben has inspired Dr. Stevens to hike some intense trails across Maine, kayak in Acadia & watch independent films; in return, she begs him to go strawberry picking, makes him read all the signs at the Boston Freedom Trail & subjects him to the macarons she bakes, which she calls more of a hobby than a skill at this point.

Dr. Stevens shares our pride in practicing dentistry with a team that shows the utmost integrity & care with each & every patient. She strives to deliver excellent dental care while ensuring her patients feel valued, respected & at ease.
