Dr. Virginia Ginger Kirkland has provided periodontal care to Alpharetta residents since 1998. She earned her undergraduate degree at the Medical College of Georgia in 1987 in the field of Dental Hygiene. She practiced dental hygiene within the field of periodontics for four years prior to beginning her dental education. She received her dental degree from the University of Louisville, Kentucky in 1995. A postgraduate residency completed at the University of Louisville in 1998 allowed her to develop greater expertise in periodontal treatment. Dr. Kirkland received her Master of Science Degree in Oral Biology in 1998 from the University of Louisville, completed in the field of bone regeneration.
Smita is another one of our fabulous Treatment Coordinators! She also holds a degree in dental assisting from the Dental Assisting School of Georgia. Hailey is one of a kind. She is a fantastic surgical assistant as well as an invaluable front desk coordinator. She was born in Florida, but became a Georgia Girl at age 12. She came to us to begin her dental career following graduation from Dental Assisting School in 2020. She is wonderful with patients and truly enjoys helping people become more confident through their smile. Her future plans revolve around expanding her knowledge of the dental field and pursuing her dream of becoming a Dental Hygienist. She is a Georgia native and graduated from Gwinnett Technical College with a degree in marketing management with a concentration in social media. Shirley comes to us with dental experience in the areas of pedodontics and general dentistry.

The entire staff, from the front to Dr. Kirkland was professional, proficient, and personable. The introductory tour was efficient and informative without being lengthy. It seems to be pretty common knowledge Dr. Kirkland is at the top of her field. She does amazing work. Pro-tip, schedule early in the day. You might get Hailey assisting. Or maybe just ask for time Hailey is there. The two of them together are amazing. I think they use telepathy. They work extremely efficiently and produce great results. Dr. Kirkland is an amazing periodontist and Hailey will make sure nothing is missed from scheduling to aftercare. Congrats on reading this, you will get the best possible care here.

Dr. Kirkland spent a fair amount of time with me to introduce herself and review my health history. She answered all of my questions, asked a lot of questions, and pointed out the areas of concern to her and how she will handle my care going forward. Her team is very professional, from being greeted at the front desk, to taking a tour of the facility, to the pre-hygienist work, to the actual cleaning. The only negative would be that they require payment in full up front, then bill your insurance, so you have to wait for a reimbursement check from your insurance carrier.

This review is only based on scheduling. After scheduled, I got a call one day before my appointment telling me they have to push me to next week. When next week comes, they called me one day before this week appointment and pushed me another week. They pushed my appointment twice within 24hr of the appointment time, yet they require a fee from you if you cancel within 48hrs.

A pleasant experience until the estimate for services arrived. I blame myself for being ignorant of semantics. Prior to booking an estimate for work, I asked if they take my insurance (Anthem), they said YES. I proceeded to take time out of my day and get the facts and numbers. In the end I was given a treatment plan over $14,500+. This gross price was to be expected, but because I did not ask are they "in-network" the cost is as-is (net) with no insurance contribution. For inconveniencing their staff, I paid them $250. I apologize tremendously for the miscommunication. There seems to be a pattern of deceptive practices. And it seems most of your positive reviews are from people with limited postings. Did you ask them to post? Or are those fake/coerced to attract more clients? Honesty is the best policy, Doc. Pre-Response to Owner: Please don't patronize me with your awful response as below. Call it what it is. You don't have to wish luck to disgruntled patients finding another Perio; fortunately there are several in ATL metro. Care before greed or do you NOT promote the Hippocratic Oath in your classes to young dental professionals? PS - Get well soon.

Very impressive and welcoming office. A very friendly and informative staff and doctor who take the time to explain every aspect and detail of your issue and treatment. Everything about this office is exceptional including a very thoughtful giftbag handed to you when you get a tour of the whole office. Who does that? I would highly recommend this practice to anyone!

I thank my lucky stars that Dr. Kirkland was referred to me by another dentist. I have no anxiety whatsoever when I have an appointment. I now have and have maintained a healthy mouth since I have been under her care. Also a great staff.

DO NOT go here. The staff is very manipulative, and they will try to commit you to a full procedure within minutes. You will be forced to pay the FULL PRICE up front, which was never communicated when making an appointment. Regardless if your insurance will fully cover your visit, they will force you to pay the total cost up front, which is well above the reasonable and customary price, and then submit a claim for you, leaving you to try and recoup any money back from them if necessary. This includes your first consultation, which is over $200.
