When bacteria, illness, or injury threaten your teeth and underlying structures supporting your teeth, endodontic treatments can help. Endodontic experts consider themselves specialists in saving teeth because of these specialized treatments. Endodontic services like root canal treatments can remove bacteria that damage the dental pulp, teeth roots, nerves, lymphatic tissues, and more. This not only stops the damage from getting worse but can even help you save damaged teeth.

At North Orange County DSC in La Habra, CA, we use advanced technology to see more of the bacteria affecting teeth and remove the problem more thoroughly. To perform these treatments, endodontists continue their education and training after dental school for three years. This allows endodontists to diagnose and treat conditions that specifically affect the teeth roots, pulp, and similar structures. Our endodontists have experience treating both simple and complex health issues affecting these innermost structures.

Endodontic services are designed to find and remove decay and infection that may be attacking teeth pulp, teeth roots, nerves, and other structures. At North Orange County DSC, we use dental cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) technology to create a 3-dimensional image of the area and get the closest look at the affected area. This allows us to remove more of the damage and design a minimally invasive treatment. Patients experience less pain, faster healing times, and a much smaller chance of a re-emerging problem.

Dental cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) is an advanced x-ray imaging technique that helps our endodontists to get the most accurate, detailed view of deep structures in the mouth. This allows us to detect signs of decay, disease, and injury that other x-ray techniques cant. By creating a 3-dimensional view of the area, we get 360-degree visibility of the problem, so we can safely approach it from the right angle. This allows us to intervene sooner, helps us provide the most accurate diagnosis, and lets us design the best treatment options and strategies.

I went to see my general dentist for extreme tooth pain on a Sunday. Turned out I needed a root canal and was referred to Dr. Kim at NOCDS. He was able to see me the very next day and did the root canal. He even took into account my anxiety disorder and kindly walked me through the entire procedure. He is a genuine and kind soul! I have to say if you need a RCT go to Dr. Kim! 10/10 and I'm finally out of my agonizing pain!

Dr. Kim is the owner of the practice (family run) with some sort of marine certificate post in the office. But he is not involved in managing of the staff. Senior often are fragile & easily been victimized in billing. Per insurance company, doc Ian Woo not in approved network, patients need to pay for work he does; or this practice use other physician's name (dentist Tina Sun) to get pay by insurance. RENTt a license operation? I dis-agree with this unethical practice Dr. Kim's office structured. If I didn't learn this from insurance company, no patients will know since they don't disclose this sort of relationship set up in billing. Is this ETHICAL?

I cannot express how much I loved this place for my root canal service. It was as smooth and gentle as it could Ever be considering it's a lengthy process for a root canal. My healing aftercare has been amazing as well. I only had to take 1 Advil right after numbing went away and just had soreness for a day and half. The specialist was amazing for my high anxiety self. Staff was reassuring as well.

Update 4/2022 - Well darn! Here again I needed another emergency root canal, so made the call to North Orange County Dental Specialty Center right away. Again, I cannot express how thankful I am to Dr Kim and his staff. Upon arrival, I know that I am in excellent hands. The office staff was quick getting me checked in. Amal (assistant) remembered me from my previous visit! I am a big baby and have extreme anxiety at the dentist and she was so kind and reassuring. Dr. Kim was extremely thoughtful and caring and made sure I was completely comfortable every step of the way. He even gave me some advil before the procedure to jump-start the pain relief. BUT I have to say that my favorite thing about Dr Kim, other than his bed-side manner, is how he explains very clearly what he is doing and how close we are to finishing the procedure. He and Justine (assistant) made the entire experience of getting a root canal painless and stress-free as possible. 2/2021 - I was suffering extreme pain from a bad molar that needed a root canal. I cannot thank Dr. Kim and his team enough. First, they were able to accommodate me next day as an emergency. Second, I was able to fill out all of my forms electronically before the appointment. I felt very safe with the COVID precautions and didn't have to wait at all once inside. Dr. Kim was very caring, made me feel very comfortable, answered all of my questions and reassured me there would be no pain. The procedure was amazingly pain free! He made sure that I was not feeling any pain, even checking on me during and adding additional medication. I feel SO much better. I just had the procedure yesterday and I have NO pain at all!! Dr. KIM AND HIS TEAM are miracle workers and I cannot thank them enough. Highly recommend.
