Dr. Friedman grew up on Staten Island, New York, and always wanted to be a doctor. His first experience with oral surgery occurred when he was just a boy, after a bike accident and the compassionate care he received was an inspiration to him. Witnessing his mothers life being saved by a doctor further fueled his love for medicine. Early in his general practice residency at Beth Israel Hospital, Dr. Friedman was able to connect with a frightened young accident victim who entrusted him with putting her back together.
Dr. Friedman realized that through the practice of oral surgery, he would be able to merge his creative and nurturing sides with his medical skills to care for people in a profound way, and this was the turning point when he knew that a life spent helping people get out of pain and out of danger using both his hands and his heart was his calling. Dr. Friedmans aim at his practice is to provide state-of-the-art, quality care in a calm, warm environment, addressing not just the surgical aspects of the patient experience but the emotional as well. North Jersey Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery is a happy place where they treat the patients, not just the task at hand. We dont take care of teeth; we take care of people!
Jerald S. Friedman, DDS, received his undergraduate degree in pre-med and Judaic studies from Touro College in New York City and his dental degree from Columbia University School of Dentistry in New York City.
Dr. Friedman has professional affiliations with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology.
Dr. Friedman resides in Teaneck, New Jersey with his six children, where he enjoys fishing, skiing, and being in nature. He fulfills his commitment to help others by participating in surgical missions to Mexico to provide life-changing cleft lip and palate surgeries, and he is an active member of his Teaneck, New Jersey, community. One of his philosophies is if youre not giving, youre not living, and he lives by this each day in both his practice and his daily life.
Zev Schulhof, DMD, MD, is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon as well as a physician, and is an attending surgeon at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. Dr. Schulhof grew up on Staten Island, New York, and was interested in medicine from a young age.
As a child, he wanted to be become a pediatrician, but as a teen and in his early 20s while volunteering as an EMT, he witnessed an oral surgery emergency and became inspired by the practice. His passion for oral surgery became deeply rooted when Dr. Schulhof was in dental school performing his first oral surgery in the OR he fell in love with the way oral surgery combines dentistry with medicine and with the artistry of working with ones hands to improve peoples lives. To this day, the most rewarding part of his work as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon is to be able to actively make a difference in the lives of his patients. At North Jersey Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Dr. Schulhof enjoys being able to treat each patient like family, spending as much time with them as they need to feel comfortable and at ease, and always going above and beyond to deliver the best possible results. He is proud to work with a team that loves what they do this positive attitude radiates to the patients, who often remain patients for life, bringing in their family members. Dr. Schulhof would like his patients to know that he and Dr. Friedman consistently stay on the cusp of technology two to three years ahead of what other practices are doing and have the skills and ability to help patients that have been told that they arent candidates for dental implants taking the time to make it happen for them safely and beautifully.
Dr. Schulhof publishes articles regularly for national medical publications and lectures nationally on various topics, including cosmetic surgery, oral pathology, oral and maxillofacial reconstruction and bone grafting, as well as implantology.

I was recommended by one of my best friends to go here for my wisdom teeth extractions. This office allowed me to feel so comfortable. Everyone was extremely welcoming and friendly. I traveled over two hours to get to this place and would do it again because of how amazing the service and attention are. Special thank you to Jose who was my personal tech before the surgery. He answered all my questions and such a professional. Dr. Y was so warm, welcoming and appreciative of me coming all that way. Thank you thank you! They also have payment plans to work with your budget if your insurance is not accepted, so that's always a plus.

Dr. Friedman and his staff were wonderful! I had to bring my 5 day old son to his office to evaluate if he needed a Frenotomy for a tongue-tie that was identified after his birth. Dr. Friedman was able to examine him and discuss the structure of his mouth, as well as the areas of his mouth that also presented lip and cheek-ties. After the examination, Dr. Friedman made certain to ask me about my son's nursing habits, my pain level during nursing, and my milk supply. After our discussion, we were able to determine that his ties were not affecting my nursing or causing me pain and were able to simply be monitored as his mouth developed and his teeth came in. Dr. Friedman's work with local lactation consultants definitely came through in his assessment of whether my son needed a Frenotomy. He saved us a ton of time and the hassle of having a procedure performed on a newborn!

I just had another superb experience at this practice, and this time with Dr. Montazem. We have been using this practice for many years for any surgical procedures, implants or consultation with full trust of Drs. Friedman and Schulhof. The implants in my and my wife's mouth are the most credible proof of their high level of skill and professionalism. The support staff from the front desk to the billing have always been accommodating and kind. They all are kind and leaving you with a very pleasant experience. Very highly and wholeheartedly recommended.

Doctor Jerald S. Friedman is amazing oral surgeon, he did amazing job removing my wisdom teeth and I recovered very quickly only 3 days, him and his team truly care and followed up with my progress, I truly appreciate the team, and highly recommend Doctor Friedman and his team.

The actual removal of my wisdom teeth and surgical procedure was amazing. I would highly recommend this team to anyone requiring oral surgery. However, their billing team is awful. I'm not sure if they're just not filing expenses on time but their billing policies and procedures are lacking. I paid a little over 2K the day of my surgery and then 18 months later received another bill from them. Seems like an incompetent accounting and billing team.

I got my wisdom tooth extracted here. The procedure was quick and painless. Doctors and assistants are super friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommended! Edit (2022): I just graduated dental school and I am now a dentist because Dr. Friedman's knowledge and passion inspired me to pursue the profession. I will never forget their team and everything they did for me!

Kelly Quintero was the oral surgeon assistant and she was the most comforting enjoyable person to work with. she is so efficient and I have SEVERE anxiety. She made made feel so safe, comfortable, and relaxed throughout the whole process I highly recommend using this office for any future references for others. The work they do is extremely professional and affordable. Dr. Yakobov was an amazing oral surgeon who also made me feel very calm and relaxed and handled it so well, I didn't feel the slightest bit of pain. And it was over before I knew it. I woke up and it was out. Like that's it's was already done? And they said yes. 100% highly recommended quality service

Walking into the office I was so nervous in getting my wisdom tooth extracted. Dr. Friedman and his staff were all so kind from the moment I walked into the office until the moment I left. They are the best! Thank you!!! Definitely recommend! :)

I saw Dr, Schuloff for 2 implants and I was one of the best experiences!! He and his staff, from the front desk staff, the ladies who collect your money (lol) to his assistants were a pleasure. Going to a dentist/oral surgeon is never anyones wish but if you want a pleasant and uncomplicated procedure. This is where you should go.

My wife's surgery went well, but after paying at the time we received another bill for $400 a year and a half later, and were told that it was "past due". My wife is happy, but I will look for other oral surgeons if I need one.

Dr. Friedman is overall an incredible and outstanding oral surgeon. Not only has he taken great care of my son during his wisdom teeth removal surgery, but also he is lovely to speak with at every appointment. The staff is very helpful and professional. I am so glad I chose Dr. Friedman and I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Very poor management.. my appointment was scheduled for tooth extraction 3 days back and just a day before the surgery I was told that they dont accept my insurance.. .. i wasted time and effort completing the paper work and had also shared my insurance details. Seriously? Pathetic ..

I don't usually write reviews, but I felt so compelled to write a review on this office. I was scheduled to remove all 4 of my Wisdom teeth and I was extremely nervous.The moment I walked in the office I knew I was a good hands from receptionist to assistant to oral surgeon. The office had very good energy and nothing but positive vibes. I highly recommend this office for anyone getting any type of surgical work.Dr. Schulhoff and his assistant June were absolutely amazing. They both kept me very relaxed and with no worries throughout the whole procedure.I would do this procedure all over again if I had to! Thank you!!

I have never experienced such an amazing dentist visit. I left with tears of joy because Dr. Farkas and Jose treated me with so much care and patience. I wasn't just the next patient coming to get a tooth extracted, they genuinely listened. They took the time to talk to me and understood my concerns as a terrified patient. Let me give you some context : Earlier this week, I was supposed to get a tooth extracted. I had a huge infection and the dentist in Maryland had a hard time numbing me for the extraction. I felt the pain from this procedure and it was traumatizing. I had to travel to New Jersey and called this office to see if they were available, since I needed this tooth taken out as soon as possible. I ran through some insurance issues and they worked with me to get everything that I needed to have this procedure . Dr Farkas and Jose went above and beyond to help me feel comfortable and calm (laughing gas ). They literally walked me through the entire procedure and constantly checked to see if I was fine. Visiting an oral surgeon can be scary, but this experience changed my entire perspective. Dr. Farkas and Jose, thank you for making me trust again! The world needs more people like you! I will give a million stars if I could! THANK YOU for being wonderful and caring people. I will forever be grateful to you both.

The whole team at NJOMS is amazing! I've gotten four implants done with NJOMS, and the whole staff goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and at ease throughout the whole process. Everyone is so helpful and knowledgeable. If you're looking for an oral surgeon, NJOMS is the place for you!

I love the professionalism and attentiveness that Dr. Friedman and his staff provides at North Jersey Oral. I had to get a tooth pulled and two implants. I'm currently healing from the implants now. They really know what they are doing there and they explain everything step by step as they go along. It's not all business at North Jersey Oral, they treat you like family. I'm not a fan of dentist or oral surgeons but I could honestly say that I always look forward to seeing Dr.Friedman and his bright staff. Keep up the good work. God bless -Samson Styles
