Mack Elbert Coker was born in Houston, Texas, to Anne Hassetine Colemen Coker and Mack Coker. After completing his work at Mirabeau B. Lamar High School in Houston, Texas, he entered The University of Texas at Austin in 1959. In September 1962, he entered the University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from that institution in June 1966. In 1966, he was also selected for the senior award in anesthesiology, and placed second in the National Student Achievement Award from the American Society of Dentistry for Children.

Upon graduation, Mack Elbert Coker was awarded and served a one year rotating internship at the U.S. Naval Hospital (Balboa) in San Diego, Calif., from July 1966 to June 1967. He was then assigned to the U.S. Naval Base Subic Bay, Republic of the Philippines, until July 1969. A portion of that tour was served at the Naval Hospital on the U.S.S. Repose in Vietnam. He then served at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., from August 1969 to July 1970.

After leaving active duty as Lt. Commander, U.S. Navy in July 1970, he entered the Graduate School of the University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston. In May 1972, he received a Master of Science Degree, with a major of Biomedical Science, and a certificate in periodontics. In June 1972, he entered the private practice of periodontics, and is still practicing with the intent of staying in this practice. For several years, he held a part-time position as Clinical Professor at the University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston, in the department of periodontics.

Dr. Daniel Ho is a board-certified periodontist, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. Dr. Ho received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from McGill University, in Canada. He went on to specialize in periodontics and implant dentistry, and received his Specialty Certificate in Periodontics and Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) degree at Harvard School of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Ho has about 10 years of clinical experiences in periodontics and implant dentistry. He specializes in the treatment of gum disease, and provides care in implant dentistry, laser gum surgery, esthetic gum grafting, and oral bone grafting.

Over the past years, Dr. Ho has written several textbook chapters inClinical Maxillary Sinus Elevation Surgery,Clinical Cases in Periodontics, andClinical Cases in Implant Dentistry.He has been actively involved in clinical dental implant and periodontal research, and has published many scientific studies in peer-reviewed dental journals. Additionally, Dr. Ho has received many awards, including two prestigious awards given by Harvard School of Dental Medicine Henry D. Epstein Award and Joseph L. Henry Award the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) research fellowship, the Dr. Andre Charest Prize awarded by Quebec Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Sunstar GUM Award in Dentistry, and the International College of Dentists Prize. He is a finalist in Richard J. Lazzara Fellowship in Advance Implant Surgery, offered by American Academy of Periodontology.

As a Clinical Assistant Professor in The Department of Periodontics at The University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston, Dr. Ho has taught many dental students and specialty residents over the past years. He has given many lectures ,and supervised residents in their periodontal and dental implant surgeries. Moreover, Dr. Ho also provides continuing education courses to general dentists in the area of implant dentistry and periodontics. He is very passionate about his work, and strives to respect, care about, and educate his patients in their periodontal and dental implant health.

Dr. Ho is happily married to his wife Rachel, and has a daughter Mirabel. When he is not working, Dr. Ho enjoys acrylic painting, hiking, traveling, and visiting ancient ruins in different parts of the world. He also likes photography!

Dr. Daniel K. Ho firmly believes that clinicians need to be constantly updated in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Patients can be confident that Dr. Ho is committed to offer treatment therapies basing on evidence from current literatures. In fact, Dr. Ho himself is actively involved in conducting clinical research, and has published many peer-reviewed journal articles and textbook chapters over the years. Dr. Ho strives to offer his patients different treatment options, and explains to patients the advantages and disadvantages of each option, thereby allowing patients to make the most educated decision pertaining to their dental health.

I used the same dentist for 30 years & I had the need to see a DDS with DR Ho skills .I cannot express how empressed I was with Dr Ho he fully explained ever thing so very helpful ,companion & understanding .I have never been to DR that had the customer needs in mine as he did it is generally 15 min & $250.i rate DR Ho a TEN STAR

The staff was very polite and friendly. Dr. Ho did a great job performing the gum graft. He was constantly checking on my comfort level during the procedure. Its been two days since the procedure and I have had relatively little pain associated with it.
