Dr. Abtin is a highly skilled board-certified oral maxillofacial surgeon. He has completed a combined eight years of specialty training at some of Americas top institutions, including an Ivy League degree from the University of Pennsylvania and residency training at Emory University, where he was mentored by some of the country's best known surgeons.

He has performed thousands of surgeries, from outpatient procedures performing facial and oral implants, facial cosmetics and rejuvenation, corrective jaw surgery, and pathology, to extremely complex facial reconstructions and high-risk trauma cases in the areas Level 1 trauma centers.

Dr. Curtis J. Holmes is a skilled, board certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon that practices full scope. After earning a Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) at the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry, he completed a general practice residency at Indiana University. Following his residency, Dr. Holmes worked as a general dentist in the Indianapolis area. He completed advanced training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Brooklyn Hospital Center.

Prior to joining the North Georgia Oral Surgeon team, Dr. Holmes served as the Director of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery for the Northeast region of Geisinger Health System in Pennsylvania. He has a diverse skill set and extensive experience in dentoalveolar and implant surgery, facial trauma, minimally invasive and surgical management of temporomandibular joint disorders (TMD), sleep apnea, corrective jaw surgery, pathology and reconstructive surgery.

Dr. Holmes is personable and forthright, ensuring that he takes time to connect with each patient in order to provide an exceptional experience. Dr. Holmes also believes in the importance of giving back locally and abroad. He travels to both Jamaica and Ethiopia, providing services to under-privileged individuals that lack access to care. Additionally, Dr. Holmes has hospital staff privileges at Gwinnett Medical Center and Northside Hospital.

Dr. Mirela Memi is joining us after completing her Oral Maxillofacial surgery residency with the United States Army. She completed her dental education at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine and was soon after commissioned as a Captain in the United States Army where she was assigned to Joint Base Lewis McChord.

During residency, she completed a trauma externship in Tyler, TX at the East Texas Medical Center and Mother Francis Hospital operating on over 400 trauma cases. Her first military assignment was in Grafenwoehr, Germany with privileges at Landstuhl Medical Center where she was promoted to the rank of Major and was responsible for establishing the oral maxillofacial surgery department with a 24/7 schedule.

Dr. Memi has recently relocated to the Atlanta area, and is excited to join our practice caring for our patients. Her compassion and excellent bedside manner as well as her superb surgical skills will give your patients the best experience they could ask for with an oral surgeon.
