Dr. Megan Snyder is a friendly, highly-trained general dentist, and she is supported by Dr. Yaritza Vazquez, our periodontist (gum specialist). Between their combined knowledge and our excellent team, well make getting the smile of your dreams easier and more convenient than you could have imagined.
Numerous members of Dr. Snyders family are healthcare providers, from nurses to therapists to doctors. As a result, she knew that she wanted to care for other people too from an early age, but it took a while longer to figure out in what capacity. Throughout high school and college, she loved completing puzzles, as well as taking art classes. Shadowing her dentist and orthodontist and volunteering at a childrens dental clinic showed her that she could combine these seemingly different arenas into one profession dentistry!
Dentistry combines so many wonderful things, including science, art, compassion, and a willingness to solve puzzles. All these years later, Dr. Snyder still feels confident that this profession is the perfect match for her strengths and passions.
Dr. Snyder completed her dental doctorate at Baylor College of Dentistry (now Texas A&M College of Dentistry). During her time there, she was part of the Odonatological Honor Society and graduated in the top 10% of her class. Today, she is happy to be part of a close-knit study club through the world-renowned Pankey Institute. This group of DFW-based dentists meets two full weekends a year to discuss challenging cases and dental topics. It has been a very fun and fulfilling way for her to continue to grow in the field.
Dr. Vazquez achieved her Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of Puerto Rico School of Dental Medicine, followed by a GPR at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston. Finally, in June of 2009, she completed her Residency in Periodontics at Boston University, as well as her Masters in Oral Biology. During her residency, she mastered periodontal procedures like dental implant placement and cosmetic gum surgery.
Today, Dr. Vazquez is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Dental Association, and the Texas Dental Association. In 2010, she achieved the great honor of becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, which demonstrates the competition of a rigorous peer review process and a commitment to maintaining high standards of care as a periodontist.
Outside of work, Dr. Vazquez enjoys spending quality time with her husband, Dr. Jan Ortiz, her daughter Zoe, and her son Noah. One of her biggest hobbies is traveling as often as possible and learning about different cultures.

Used this family dental in early July. My husband needed tooth pulled, we were told tooth could not be pulled at this time and was given a prescription to rid infection before tooth could be pulled. We were given a quote for pulling tooth and thought it was too costly . They insisted on setting an appointment for a later date, as the dentist was out of office on vacation until July 22, 2022. They insisted we needed to get on their schedule as soon as possible as the dentist will be busy upon returning. The tooth was pulled yesterday by another dentist for half the charge. Today this company call me and told me they did not collect the proper amount of money and I needed to pay them an extra $20.00. They did not identify themselves, so I assumed it was the dentist office that pulled the tooth yesterday. I therefore gave them my credit card. On the same day I pulled up my bank account and seen it was the previous dentist collecting the money. I have a receipt showing I paid the dentist in full at time of service. Be aware of this dentist as they are calling people to collect additional moneys. If they collect $20.00 from all customers, they have a nice bonus. I advise you, Do Not Trust This Dental Office.

I love NGFD! I've been a patient for over 13 years. We lived around the corner from the office when I first started... But we moved 38 miles away over 10 years ago and I still go back twice a year. With the exception of last years. Only went January of 2020 before Covid. Was so happy to go today teeth cleaned and I'm so happy to have seen the staff. I missed Heather and miss Dr. Patrick!

GREAT !! This is from someone that hates to have work done on his teeth. Dr Snyder and her staff are always very friendly and professional, she makes sure you are happy before you leave and checks on you afterwards. It would be hard for me to go anywhere but here.

I've been a patient at North Garland Family Dental for over a decade and still leave every visit pleased with the doctors and staff here. They also take excellent care of my children's teeth, starting when they were barely school-aged. Dr. Paterick and Dr. Snyder are both friendly, personable, and do excellent work. I trust their recommendations completely, knowing that they always have the patient's best interest in mind with all treatments. The hygienists in the office are experts at making sure the patients are comfortable and feel welcome, and they were amazingly patient - even with my restless and super talkative toddler. And almost as important to me as the level of care received from the dental staff, is the amazing administrative staff at NGFD! The professionals at their front desk are some of the most welcoming and helpful people that I've encountered. You can tell that the office culture is very family-like - highly recommend NGFD!
