Whenever Im doing a job, I like to be the most prepared for it I can possibly be. Getting a medical degree on top of my dental degree prepared me for my future career in a better way. My patients love knowing I have this extra medical expertise so I can not only provide the best possible outcomes but also manage any potential problems I might encounter.
I consider myself friendly, calm and down-to-earth and work to provide my patients with information that is easy to understand. My focus is on building relationships with both my patients and referring dentists. I am meticulous in my treatment planning and strive to provide excellent clinical results as well as an experience that exceeds my patients expectations.
Dentistry allows a nice balance of a medical profession, where you can help people and still have a quality lifestyle outside of the profession. It gives me the opportunity to do what I lovegolfing, skiing and scuba divingand spend time with my family and friends.
Dr. McDonald enjoys teaching other dentists in the community through North County Oral and Facial Surgery Centers continuing education program. Beyond work, he has been involved with sports teams throughout his life. He has served as the wrestling coach at his sons middle school and supports Pop Warner football.

Dr. Thompson and his entire team are amazing. This is the best dental experience I have ever had. I'm not kidding with this next statement. I had a tooth pulled about an hour ago, prepping for a dental implant. I experienced more discomfort during the process at my last visit to get my teeth cleaned. I usually don't leave recommendations but seriously if you need this type of dental work done GO HERE. The staff asked me my favorite type of music and they played it while the doctor pulled my tooth. I shopped around and the cost here was very competitive. And finally, I just received flowers from the dental office saying hope you are feeling well.

I am a patient of Dr. Brandon Soelberg. I was in excruciating pain from a wisdom tooth extraction with a negligent dentist prior to my visit with Dr. Soelberg. Dr. Soelberg immediately got me in for an appointment and he took my health concerns very seriously. He took x-rays and examined the area of concern. He was very detailed and thorough with his investigation and took the time to discuss a treatment plan for recovery. It was a process and Dr. Soelberg monitored my pain and jaw popping issues resulting from the extraction. Prior to my visit I could not sleep because of the pain. The area began to heal properly with execution of Dr. Soelberg's treatment plan. I am so thankful I found Dr. Soelberg. He is #1 and an oral surgeon that I can trust. He valued me as his patient. I recommend Dr. Soelberg and his practice to my family, friends and co-workers. Thank you so much Dr. Soelberg for saving my oral health and helping me to recover safely.

I don't know where to begin in express my gratitude and appreciation for this establishment. I was sent here after a failed tooth extraction and as soon as I walked in I was welcomed and reassured that I will be taken care of and they were there to make sure that everything would be comfortable and peaceful and easy going. I went in on edge, in pain and uneasy... I left the complete opposite. I left with a big smile and pain free. I highly recommend this place and it's staff. I cannot say enough about it. Great experience and staff was amazing, second to none. Cheers to them

I had the best experience. The entire team were so great. Dr Sorlberg is a a real pro.I had an extraction and I had no pain or discomfort. I had a fast recovery. The staff was caring. Silvia, Jessica, and holly took great care of me and all my needs. I highly recommend this practice. -Maricela G

This place is amazing! I got all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed last Friday which I had been nervous about for quite a while. I got a consultation done a few days beforehand where I was greeted by Kayla & Tina up front, and they were both so friendly and sweet which in itself is very comforting; they were also extremely helpful with all my questions. The waiting time was so quick before I got taken back both times. Silvia was the surgical assistant that was with me during the consultation and the actual procedure, and I can not emphasize enough just how great she is. I think I exploded all of my questions that I had about everything on her which she answered happily and diligently. I remember right before I was put under for the surgery that I said, "I'm nervous" and she calmly touched my shoulder and reassured me. I seriously loved having her there! The day of my surgery, Stephanie was up front that early morning when my nerves were the most tense, but she was so cool (my partner who was waiting for me met her when she told her to pull around to pick me up and agrees that she was very nice). I also met another amazing surgical assistant named Anthony who was just as reassuring and friendly. Dr. Thompson was the surgeon, and maybe I'm just biased at this point but he was the BEST. Here I am on day 6 and feeling totally fine! Although I am of course sore, it is not nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. I have been to places where I have gotten procedures done and the people there don't care because they deal with it all the time, but everyone at this office made me feel like I was their only patient and that they'd do anything they could for me which is so sweet. Anyway, I 10000/10 recommend them a million times over!

I recently had Tori removal, they were the size of grapes on each side of my lower jaw interfering with my speech. I expected to be down for the count for a week at least. Dr. Soelberg's magic hands performed a nearly painless procedure to remove the Tori. He has a very calm manner and I highly recommend him to anyone needing this procedure.

I have been to the location at Escondido and Encinitas. Dr. Thompson performed the surgery both times. He was very professional and caring. I was very nervous the first time and he put my mind at ease. The second time I was very comfortable from my positive experience the first time. His assitants who gave me the anesthesia were very caring also.The ladies working the front desk in both offices were also very friendly and professional.

When I found out my daughter had a Dentigerous Cyst we were scared and didn't know what to expect. We contacted Dr. Soelberg at North County Oral & Facial Surgery Center and he immediately put our minds at ease. Once we came into the office he walked us through every detail and took such good care of my daughter. The procedure was fast, instructions for follow up care helpful and effective. And she had minimal pain the next day. We will definitely use North County Oral & Facial Surgery Center and Dr. Soelberg for all our future needs.

I just wanted to take the time to say thank you to Dr. Thompson and his team. I had four wisdom teeth extracted by Dr. Thompson, and I was a bit more nervous than I wanted to admit walking into the operating room. Wisdom teeth removal was something that I definitely dreaded the thought of, and it's been a source of anxiety of mine since I received a referral from my dentist a few weeks ago. However, Dr. Thompson and his team did an awesome job of helping me feel more calm and comfortable with their conversation and kindness when prepping me for the extraction. Before I knew it, I was back in the car with my parents halfway home already. Thank you again Dr. Thompson and team!

I took my son in for surgery last week and he was extremely nervous. Dr. Soelberg did an amazing job calming my son's anxiety and it turned out to be one of the best experiences we've had in a doctor's office. The surgery went great, and my son has had minimal pain or swelling. I highly recommend Dr. Soelberg and this surgery center!

Dr Thompson is a wonderful Oral Surgeon! His patient care is over the top. He recently treated a family member and he even called to check on them that night. From the initial call to make the appointment and all the way to the end the staff was amazing!! I would highly recommend this office to other family and friends!!

This office is very professional as well as friendly. Both Dr Chan and Dr Thompson are dedicated to making the patient's experience a pleasant one. All the assistants are also very sweet, answering all my questions and even call to check on you after surgery. Come here for your oral surgery needs!
