Dr. Nathan Christensen is an advocate of biomimetic dentistry (minimally invasive dentistry preserving maximum natural tooth structure). He works hard to stay on top of the latest techniques and advancements in restorative dentistry by dedicating much of his time to continuing education. He has done extensive post-graduate work at UCLA in root canal treatment, he is Invisalign certified, has his oral conscious sedation license, and completed a two-year program in Esthetic Dentistry at the McGann Postgraduate Institute. Dr. Christensen has also dedicated a great deal of time to the study of implant dentistry. His vast experience with implants ranges from single implant surgery and restoration to full mouth implant reconstruction.
When Dr. Christensen is not practicing dentistry, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing basketball, running, and surfing. He also enjoys volunteering his time to the community and has been given a humanitarian award for his service to children in Southern California and Belize.
Dr. Coleman operates on the philosophy of exceeding patients expectations and giving them the best care available. Thus he keeps up with the latest developments in advanced dental technologies through extensive continuing education.
After earning his Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree in 1978, Dr. Paul Coleman served as a dentist and Commissioned Lieutenant in the US Navy Dental Corps. At the conclusion of his military service, he settled in the San Diego area and started in private practice.
Dr. Coleman has been practicing dentistry in the San Diego area since 1981. He combines comprehensive dentistry with advanced cosmetic dentistry procedures to create beautiful and healthy smiles for his patients. He also providessedation dentistryandsleep apneatreatment.

He has completed advanced cosmetic and restorative training at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI). He has additionally earned credentials in sedation dentistry, comprehensive sleep apnea treatment, TMJ/TMD treatment, and non-surgical laser treatment for gum disease.
Dr. Jennifer Villalta is passionate about helping children improve their overall and oral health. She believes every child is unique and the dental care provided should be individualized for each child and their family. She strives to make each dental visit an enjoyable and positive experience.
Dr. Jen is a first-generation Latina who grew up in Los Angeles, where she spent her formative years. She later moved with her family to Sonoma County, where her love for pediatric dentistry began. At the age of 16, she started working at a dental office, and by 17 she obtained her Registered Dental Assisting (RDA) license. She completed her undergraduate studies and obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Physiological Sciences at UCLA. During her time in college she continued to work as a RDA working primarily in pediatrics.
Dr. Jen returned to Northern California to obtain her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, where she focused on Pediatric Dentistry. She was President of the Pediatric Dental Society, was in charge of the advanced pediatric dental clinic, and was community service director. During her time she received numerous accolades for her leadership, including the coveted Pediatric Dentistry Award presented for her superior proficiency in the field of dentistry for children.
Dr. Jen missed her Southern California roots and returned to UCLA to complete her residency in Pediatric Dentistry at the UCLA School of Dentistry, as well as simultaneously obtaining her Master of Public Health degree from the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health.
Dr. Jen is excited to be working with the team at North County Dental Group! When she isnt practicing dentistry, she enjoys being active and outdoors whether it be at the beach or exercising, and during the winters she enjoys snowboarding.

I was looking for a new dental office since my previous dentist shut down her business last year due to Covid. Since then I've been to another dental office in town and I did not have a good experience because I felt like they were trying to upsell me for services that I didn't need. It felt like I was at a car dealership. Then I found North County Dental Group in Poway. What a difference. I didn't have to wait long for cleaning appointments for my family. Melissa was very helpful in taking care of my insurance information ahead of time. Danielle the hygienist was gentle and thorough. I like Dr Coleman. I HATE going to the dentist but I love North County Dental County dental group. Suzy at the front is an absolute angel (my schedule makes me a nightmare for scheduling appointments). My dental hygienist are so 0sweet and professional. Dr Christensen has an excellent bedside manner and is thorough and efficient. He gets me out of the office in no time yet never makes me feel rushed. Thank you to this team, I would give them more than 5 stars if I could!!!

North County Dental Group is the ONLY dental office I trust my smile and dental needs with. For over a decade I Dr. Coleman has been professional, patient and helpful in assisting me with my bright smile goals. It all started with a scaling and cleaning 12 years ago. Through the years, I have replaced old ugly fillings with a more natural filling that doesn't make me want to cover my mouth when I laugh. I'm also happy to have had Dr. Coleman guide me through last year's cosmetic changes I'd been wanting for years! I have a new bright white smile with no discolored teeth, no odd gaps and no chips from years ago!! He is the gentlest dentist and every visit is pain free. Danielle, their dental hygienist is just as patient and comforting when helping me keep up with my cleanings. She's full of advice on proper dental care as well. Also, Suzie is the sweetest receptionist and will help you out on scheduling and making you feel important and a priority, even when life interrupts your plans and you're running behind on an appointment. She goes the extra step to help assist you and not make you feel like a burden. I ONLY recommend this dental group to my friends and family.
