Growing up, I was fortunate to have had a great dentist who made sure I never experienced any anxiety during treatment. When I started my own practice, I knew I wanted to give my patients the same relaxing environment. Many people have had negative dental experiences, so my staff and I strive to create a comfortable, positive atmosphere for each and every patient.
After graduating from high school, I joined theU.S. Air Force,where I had the opportunity to learn about dentistry as a dental assistant. During my time in the Air Force, I took two years of night classes that allowed me to complete my undergraduate education after two more years at theUniversity of Georgia. I then achieved my Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree at theMedical College of Georgia.
I am a regular participant in the Rivertown/Seattle Study Club, meeting monthly with other local dental professionals to discuss the latest advances in dental care. I also ensure my staff and I are up-to-date on new technology, as well as fully certified in Invisalign.
My staff is wonderful with transforming potentially stressful situations into the best dental experiences possible. From the moment our patients make their first phone calls to the moment they walk out of our doors, everyone here strives for excellence each and every step of the way. We ensure quality care by continuing to improve our clinical excellence through advanced education courses, as well as strengthening our relationships and teamwork through staff retreats.
Having grown up in Blakely, Georgia, I now make my home in Midland, just north of Columbus. My wife, Lacy, and I have two kids, Halee and Brock. We are a tennis-playing family, and I personally enjoy spending time on the golf course. We love to travel as a family, and we are very active at Cascade Hills Church.

Kim has been a member of our dental family since 1995. Kim performs cleanings for our patients, takes X-rays, creates night guards, and assists with many other responsibilities around the office. She enjoys the opportunity to work with patients throughout their lives, building a strong relationship with each individual. Kim and her husband have a large family consisting of five children and many grandchildren who are all significant parts of their lives. Kim is also an active member of her church, and in her free time, she enjoys reading.
Lucyhas been a member of our dental family since 2013. We love Lucys enthusiasm for her career! In all of her duties for the practice, she brings a true dedication to dental health. Lucy joined us fresh from Columbus Technical College, where she studied dental hygiene and won the coveted Hu-Friedy Golden Scaler Award. In her free time, Lucy enjoys spending quality time with her husband and participating in all kinds of outdoor activities.
Heatheris in charge of our practice's financial records, including patient care plans and insurance claims. She brings over8 years of experience in dentistry to our office.She loves the positive, professional work environment of North Columbus Dental Care. In her free time,Heather enjoys spending quality time with her familyand riding her horses.

If there's one word to describe this office it's EFFICIENT. Holy smokes. I called in today for an emergency dental visit, new patient, and they were able to squeeze me in immediately (like within the same hour). The staff is so helpful and just genuinely very nice. Dr. Swords was also great. While it's not ideal to find out you need a root canal on Halloween (the irony am I right?), they certainly made the whole ordeal a breeze. 10/10 Highly Recommend. Thanks for helping me out!

My father in law had a severe pain in his mouth and they took his appointment right way. The front desk was very friendly, caring and comforting. The doctor was patient and took the time to explain the treatment. I would recommend this doctor for emergency dental issue.

I hate going to the dentist. It is a huge fear of mine to the point of panic attacks for a regular cleaning. But coming to Dr. Swords is the best decision I ever made. I am never scared or nervous once I'm in the chair. The entire staff is incredibly nice and understanding, always willing to work with whatever situation you're dealing with. It also helps with how early and late they are open. I hate having to miss work but their schedule truly helps with that. I will always recommend this office.

The staff was nice & explained everything in detail regarding my consultation as Well as With questions That I Had. They showed me every picture of each process Of My dental work That They Did On me. They asked me to Feel Free To Reach Out To Them If I have any questions regarding anything. They provided me with two recommendations of an oral care being that's the only thing they don't provide. I highly recommend coming here for all of your dental needs!! I will be back for another appointment this was my first time being there but it definitely won't be my last.
