For the past 20 years, along with his wife, a physician who he met on mission surgical work in Cambodia, they have spent the better part of the those years in multiple countries in Africa, as well as Honduras and Cambodia, working at mission hospitals doing maxillofacial and craniofacial surgery in subsaharran Africa and teaching and advising other surgeons, especially national doctors. His workload there included a very wide range of maxillofacial, plastic and craniofacial surgery and he gained expertise in these areas working in limited resource settings. They have recently rebased back in Vermilion as family demands have changed. His areas of interest are dentoalveolar surgery, IV sedation, oral and facial pathology as well as correction of minor facial lesions. Dr. Bartholomew spends 1 day per week at the Erie County Health Dept to serve the population there doing basic oral surgery. He is fluent in French.
In their spare time, Dr. Bartholomew and his family enjoy returning for short trips back to Africa 2-3 times per year to continue work in countries where they have previously been. He also enjoys what outdoor activities are afforded living near Lake Erie. Together with Dr. Clemow, they offer a truly unique blend of oral and maxillofacial surgery expertise combining their wide ranging skills to provide a variety of options for patients both in a private office setting or health department setting as well as a university hospital setting nearby by Dr. Clemow. Justin B. Clemow DMD, MD, FACS grew up in Connecticut and moved to Ohio after residency in 2013. He has been with North Coast Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery since 2017 and loves working in this area because of the relaxed atmosphere and honest people. When he is not here in the office, Dr. Clemow is an active staff surgeon at Metrohealth Medical Center in Cleveland where he is a clinical assistant professor for the Case Western Reserve OMFS residency. His main focus in the office is wisdom tooth extraction, complex bone grafting, dental implants, and IV sedation. In the hospital he provides expertise in obstructive sleep apnea surgery, facial trauma and reconstructive surgery, and corrective jaw surgery. Dr. Clemow lectures locally and nationally on topics including sleep apnea surgery, corrective jaw surgery, and facial reconstruction.

We've had services twice now from North Coast Oral and Maxillofacial and from the staff to the doctor, we've had nothing but superior care. When calling in this time to the office to schedule a procedure, not only was the Staff helpful but she went above and beyond. I told her what needed to be done, according to the referral I had and she was able to 1. Tell me that they are a participating provoder with our insurance and 2. An estimate for services that will be provided over the phone. Top notch office and Doctors. Highly recommend and will definitely use again when needed in the future.

Charged in full day of appointment and paid. Now they are billing insurance for the same fee I had to pay in full the day of. Also quoted me $7000 for my procedure out of pocket wonder if they were gonna turn around and bill insurance $7000 too. This place is a joke insurance scamming office and I will not go back!

Just want to give out a HUGE Thank You to Dr. Clemow & Heather and the whole staff at NorthCoast Oral Surgery. I have high anxiety. I had to have some teeth extracted and surgically removed and Dr. Clemow explained everything about the process and made me feel Very Very comfortable. I opted for the IV Sedation route and it was painless as can be and I felt great after waking up and had no issues or problems. Great staff at the office. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Justin Clemow Hands Down!!!!!

I've been to the office for implants & bone grafting a few times,Kris always greets you with a smile.Dr.Clemow & Lisa are wonderful & friendlyThey explain everything that's going to take place& make you feel @ease. I had to have a tooth pulled and my anxiety was running high. They were very understanding and helped me relax. The process was easy and fast and I went home feeling relieved. The next day I experienced pain, however, the pain pills they gave me (non-narcotic) helped. I had a very great experience with this practice and highly recommend them to everyone.

I recently needed to have a tooth extracted that had broken off at the gum line. I was a little nervous but Dr. Helmkamp was amazing. I didn't feel any pain from start to finish and he even called me personally later that evening to see how I was doing. The staff was friendly as well. Five stars.

Very impressed with the doctor and staff. Dr Helmkamp explained the procedure before hand to make sure I was comfortable and at ease. I had a tooth extracted it was completely pain free. Dr Helmkamp personally called me later that evening to see how I was doing. I would recommend highly.

I had a tooth extracted yesterday and I have to say it was a pleasant experience,( as pleasant as having a tooth extracted can be). The staff and the Dr. were wonderful. I didn't even fill the pain medication and I have no discomfort whatsoever! Highly recommend.

My husband had to have a tooth extracted and he was nervous before the surgery. He also has a bad gag reflex and was afraid this was going to be a problem. The minute we walked in the door the staff was very friendly and put him at ease. Dr Bartholomew was very patient and professional throughout the whole procedure and made my husband feel very comfortable. My husband was so relaxed that he did not have a gagging problem and the tooth was extracted before he knew it! Kudos to Dr. Bartholomew and staff and thank you for calling back later in the day to check on him.
