Dr. Vivek Patel was born in Chicago and raised in Skokie, IL. He completed his undergraduate degree in biology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD). While in school, he served as as a board member of his graduating class and the American Student Dental Association (ASDA).
After dental school, Dr. Patel completed his orthodontic specialty residency at the Seton Hill UniversityAdvanced Specialty Education Program in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, where he obtained a Master of Science degree and Certificate in Orthodontics.
Dr. Patel is certified by the American Board of Orthodontics and is involved with many professional associations, including the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, and South Carolina Dental Association.
When not in the office, Dr. Patel enjoys spending family time with his wife, Krupa, who is a native of the metro Detroit area. They both enjoy traveling and finding good eats. Dr. Patel is a huge sports fan and is a proud supporter of all Chicago teams, especially the Chicago Cubs.
Dr. Steve Garrett has been delivering the highest standard of orthodontic care since 1979. He graduated from the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry with a residency in orthodontics and is certified by the American Board of Orthodontics. He is passionate about his patients and is committed to giving each patient the best possible orthodontic experience.
He and his wife, Susie, have three children, Justin, Anne, and Mykenzie, and one precious granddaughter, Autumn. Dr. Justin Garrett followed in his fathers footsteps and is an orthodontist practicing in Charleston, South Carolina. Anne is a registered dental hygienist and practices in Northern VA. Dr. Mykenzie Garrett is a physical therapist.
Dr. Garrett is a black belt in Kenpo Karate and has taught martial arts in his free time. He has also served as Chairman of the Boy Scouts Eagle Board. He and Susie enjoy shoot sports, golf, tennis, and traveling with family and friends.
Dr. Trevan Samp received his undergraduate degree in Biology from Brown University, where he was also a wide receiver for the Brown Bears. He then attended the University of Pennsylvania for dental school and completed his Masters in Orthodontics at the University of Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco. He is also certified by the American Board of Orthodontics.
Dr. Samp was born and raised in Green Bay, Wisconsin, which explains his allegiance to the Green Bay Packers, but is excited to now call Charleston home. When he isnt helping patients, he enjoys playing sports, hiking, skiing, travelling, and spending time with his wife, Ashley, and his family and friends.

I have a decently large family and I always thought getting braces for my kids would be the most expensive thing I could imagine. After looking on the internet for a couple weeks I stumbled across Charleston Orthodontic Specialists and I can not state enough how they were so helpful and definitely budget friendly! The experience was amazing! The whole entire staff was so friendly and really made my visit fun! I recommend everyone to check out this location. Also, Ms. Carmen did a flawless job cleaning my teeth! I'm so glad I found a new home for my dental care.

Took my son here and and it was so painless. He was nervous and didn't believe it would be painless. The staff was so friendly, kind and engaging. Dr Sav was funny and so kind to Chase that he thinks Dr Sav is the funniest Dr he has ever had.

Great Orthodontist. The girls who work there are the best. I am getting Invisalign treatments to correct some upper teeth issues and the whole experience has been just perfect. Starting to see results and very happy with North Charleston Ortho.
