Dr. Stimmler fit me into his schedule as an emergency, which was awesome. I didnt feel a thing when he was working! The procedure really didnt last that long, and once the numbness wore off the pain was gone!
I went to see Dr. Stimmler for a 2nd opinion, got xrays, and got a cleaning, then we sat down to discuss the cavities. He explained that they were the start of cavities and that if I take really good care of my teeth.
While in dental school, Dr. Stimmler was involved in outreach organizations providing free dental treatment for underprivileged youth both in his local community, as well as throughout Californias Central Valley and in other countries such as Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Mexico. He was also part of a group of students who started a club to discuss professionalism and ethics in dentistry a club that eventually found its way into dental schools nationwide.
During his residency at Montefiore, Dr. Stimmler was able to further refine his knowledge of cosmetic dentistry, full mouth rehabilitation, and implant dentistry. He has also retained a desire for continuing education, always working to ensure that his practice is on the cutting edge of modern and cosmetic dentistry.
A cosmetic dentist is a licensed dentist who is committed to achieving a beautiful outcome, regardless of the treatment being performed. Dr. Stimmler and many cosmetic dentists have completed training specifically in aesthetic procedures to better understand the latest guidelines for safety and optimal results. Enhancing the appearance of your smile should not mean having to sacrifice function, and it is our goal to provide dental care that maximizes the presentation and the health of your smile.
North Brooklyn Dental Care is a practice that focuses on conservative treatment and biomimetic dentistry. This type of dentistry results in stronger teeth, less cutting away of the teeth, and is often less expensive than traditional treatments. It also uses the newest materials to more closely mimic the natural tooth structure, so that teeth look more natural and results are longer lasting. Additionally, Dr. Stimmler offers Digital Smile Design, an innovative approach to cosmetic dentistry that uses a combination of high-definition imaging technology and advanced modeling techniques to enhance each stage of many dental procedures.
Dr. Stimmler was born and raised in Southern California, one of five kids. Most of his youth was spent outdoors, resulting in his continued passion for surfing and snowboarding. After graduating dental school, Dr. Stimmler packed up a U-Haul truck and drove across the country to New York City, eventually finding a home in Greenpoint, where he and his wife have lived for the past 7 years.
Dedicated to helping patients of all backgrounds achieve the smile of their dreams, Dr. Stimmler is a participating member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistrys Give Back a Smile (GBAS) program. This charitable foundation helps men and women who have experienced dental injuries due to domestic and/or sexual violence restore their smiles. GBAS recipients are selected to receive restorative dental treatment from extensively trained dentists like Dr. Stimmler, who have the skill to provide exceptional results. The GBAS organization has assisted many individuals in regaining the confidence to smile and, just as importantly, supported their efforts to lead healthier and happier lives.
One of the most important dental decisions you can make is selecting your dentist. One way to determine which one is right for you is to ask a lot of questions. Some of the questions we recommend include:
Take a look at your prospective dentists CV to get an idea of where they studied dentistry and what sort of training theyve completed. This biography can also give you an idea about how much experience they have and whether they might be the right fit for your needs and goals.
Good dentists like to show off their work, as do happy patients with beautiful smiles. Ask if the dentist has a gallery of dental before-and-after photos that you can search through, particularly with cases that feature patients who received the same type of procedure you are considering.
Advances in dentistry have made the field much safer and more comfortable for patients. Digital X-rays, Digital Smile Design, and Invisalign are just a few examples of innovative options that are now available. Talk to your dentist to find out what modern treatments and devices they use to keep your mouth clean and healthy.
Find out from current and previous patients what you can expect from treatment at your prospective dentists office. Many practice websites offer a page of reviews and testimonials that can give you a clear view of what can be achieved at a particular practice.
