Comprehensive care for all ages - including restorative, cosmetic, surgery,dental impalnts, orthodontics, laser dentistry , gum therapy. We treat special needs, medically compromised children and adults and patients with dental anxiety.
Full range of behavior management and coping with anxiety- general anesthesia does not need to be the only answer. We offer different levels of sedation and various behavior guidance techniques. General anesthesia is reserved for the most extreme cases. For treatment under General anesthesia we offer either in office GA or treatment in an hospital setting (Franciscan hospital for children) where Dr. Sapir is a faculty attending.
We follow precautions developed by the CDC and try to exceed them whenever possible! On top of our strict disinfection and sterilization protocols and the already sunny, spacious treatment rooms, with large open windows that provide natural fresh airflow, we added the following:
6. In order to reduce the load of patients in the waiting room we have equiped a third large and airy room to accommodate patients in their own treatment room. This will reduce interpatient contact to the minimum while providing safe personal care to our patients. As always our treatment concept is one patient at a time (no open bays or mass dentistry as was seen in the past in other facilities!).

I had the best experience with a dental implant here. They were very good at explaining possible side effects and the whole process. My two kids also go here and have had wonderful Experiences as well. Both my kids had braces done and even when one son lost his retainer about 8 times they stayed patient with us. I couldn't recommend them more. Great practice and great people. Thank you both so, so much kristy (using family members account)

We had an incredible experience at Norfolk Family and Pediatric Dentistry! My 4 year old daughter had multiple cavities, and she had a traumatic experience at a previous dentist when they attempted to fill one of them. We went for a consult with Dr. Sapir, and he was so friendly and very clear about what he would recommend. My daughter felt comfortable immediately. We went with sedation with a small amount of oral medication prior to the procedure and it was so smooth. My daughter said afterwards that she didn't feel anything! I was in the room right next to the chair the whole time, and Dr. Sapir and his entire team communicated clearly throughout the entire procedure, so I always felt comfortable. He was efficient and did not waste one moment of our time, and did not have her in there for any longer than necessary. He was even able to get all of the work done with one visit, even though initially it looked like it might take two. I highly recommend Dr. Sapir and his whole practice!

Dr Shabtai and his whole team is absolutely AMAZING! My daughter used to have the worst anxiety about going to the dentist but now she gets so excited to go see the whole team! They went above and beyond for her and I couldn't be more greatful!

We went for our son's first dental visit and scheduled with Dr. Sapir. He was AMAZING! He was extremely knowledgeable and thorough and so fast when checking our son's teeth. The ladies in the waiting room were very friendly and the place itself is kid friendly with toys and games and books. Most of all i was absolutely blown away by the knowledge that the Dr was able to share because i had very specific questions and he was thorough in his answers and guidance. 100% recommend!

There honestly isn't sufficient words that truly describe how wonderful, knowledgeable, and kind everyone is here. From admin staff, to the doctors and assistants, they are all what you would hope for and want in your dental experience. We can't say enough wonderful things about the people and the experience. If you want an all around perfect experience with a dentist, I highly recommend here without doubt!!!!!

I can't begin to explain how grateful my daughter and I are to Dr. Sapir and the entire team at Norfolk Family Dental. My 6 year old has had severe anxiety over going to the dentist for a couple of years. When her primary dentist told us she needed extensive treatment for several cavities, an extraction and crown she recommend we see a dentist that specializes in sedation. Norfolk Family Dental was one of 5 offices on her referral list. After calling a few we got in touch with Dr. Sapir's office who was able to squeeze her in the next day. The other offices were booking weeks out and my daughter was in a lot of pain. From the moment we walked in I knew we were in the right spot. The entire staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Dr. Sapir made sure to explain every step of the treatment plan to both me and my daughter. He was so kind and friendly through the whole treatment. We worked on half of it on the first appointment with no issues or tears. It went so well my daughter was excited to come back for the second half of treatment. The follow up calls, compassion and care shown by all of his team was beyond what I have ever experienced in any medical or dental practice I or my children have visited. I truly can't thank you all enough for everything you have done for us.

Dr Sapir and his team were wonderful! My 8 year old son was very anxious. (He threw up on the way due to nerves)They made him feel calm and made sure he was comfortable the whole time! He needs to come back again in a few weeks and now that he knows what to expect he is much more relaxed! I'm so glad we found this office! I highly recommend them!!

I have never wanted to write a review more than this. Dr. Minda has changed my life. Her and her staff are so wonderful. I've had a longtime issue where I was too intimidated and anxious that I've just been skipping the dentist. Since I'm getting married and wanted to change, I made it to Dr. Minda's office and from there working with her and her staff I was able to get all my dental needs addressed. The office works in timely manner, and not once did I feel uncomfortable or out of place. They worked with my needs and were direct on building a plan and executing on it. I felt supported and never ashamed. I would recommend this office time and time again, to everyone.

I took my 7 year old daughter here for some major dental work. All of the staff were amazing and made her feel comfortable and special. The dentist explained everything he was doing to her and even let her watch with a mirror so she never had to wonder what they were doing. She left begging me to go back again soon!

Dr. Sapir and his team were amazing! My 4 year old son needed some pretty extensive work and our original dentist suggested some form of sedation that they couldn't do. We found Dr. Sapir and after the consult, I was sold. My son left excited to go back and Dr. Sapir spent time with me explaining what the procedure would be like and some of the behavioral techniques he applies if a child is having a difficult time. I loved the transparency and approach and felt very comfortable, so booked the appointment. A couple of days later, my son wouldn't stop crying because his mouth hurt. Dr. Sapir and team fit us in on Christmas Eve (!) to address the problem. I was so grateful and will absolutely be going back for his regular visits.

I started seeing Dr. Minda (who I affectionately call The General) in the summer of 2021. I needed extensive dental treatment and her and her team have always made me feel like part of the family. She truly cares about the health of your smile and goes the extra mile. I'm 60 this year and for the first time in my life...I look forward to going to the dentist!! If I could give more than 5 stars.. I would!!

Best Dentists out there! I have been seeing both Dr. Minda Sapir and Dr. Shabtai Sapir for years now and I'm so happy with my choice to see them. They are both amazing, kind, compassionate, and caring! I have had a lot of procedures including two implants. My implants look so natural and I feel so much more confident (one of my implants are in the front) since getting them. I will always be a patient here and I'm truly grateful for all of the time and patience that the Drs give me. I suffer from extreme anxiety and both Drs make sure that I'm ok throughout all of my procedures.

My 4 year old gets a lot of anxiety at doctor/dental offices. Dr. Sapir and his staff made him feel comfortable, safe, and so happy to the point that at his first appointment, he didn't want to leave! Most recently, my son had to undergo some extensive treatment + be put under anesthesia and I cannot thank Dr. Sapir and his team for making a very nerve-wracking/stressful experience (for both us + my son), quite the opposite. I am so glad we were referred to Norfolk Family & Pediatric Dentistry. With no hesitation we would give this office a 10/10-- highly recommend.

I'll preface this by saying I had a bad experience with one dentist, my son had a great experience with the other dentist, and they tried to resolve my issues professionally - hence 3 starts instead of just 1. This office seems to be run by a husband and wife team. The male Dr. Sapir sees children and the female Dr. Sapir sees adults. My son had a great experience with the male Dr. Sapir. He screamed while getting his teeth brushed, but I think that was typical for 1 year olds. I had a horrible experience with the female Dr. Sapir. I'm someone who has always loved going to the dentist and jokingly call it the "spa." This was not that. Dr. Sapir was cold and unfriendly. She did the cleaning and had an assistant hold the tools. She and her assistant chatted unprofessionally, talking about boyfriends and taking days off and going out to lunch. I was in a lot of pain, tears rolling down my face and shaking from the nerve pain. I had to ask her to stop; she never stopped to check in with me even though I was visibly in pain. She made some rude comments ("You said your old dentist used this so I thought you'd be OK, but apparently not"). I've had braces, oral surgeries, skin graphs, extractions, expanders, everything - and I've never felt so violated and angry at a dentist. Perhaps you could bring your child here, but I would stay away from the female Dr. Sapir.

My son needed extensive work on his teeth. I had 4 consultations in the past that all left me not feeling heard. So I started searching for a new dentist that would listen to my concerns and preferences and I found Dr. Sapir at Norfolk Family & Pediatric dentistry and I am so happy I did! As soon as you walk into the office there is a comfy place to sit and there is toys under the seats for kids to play with! Immediately all the anxiety my kid usually has at the dentist disappeared because this didn't seem like the normal boring 'sit still and wait for your turn' type of office, this office was fun. During our consultation Dr. Sapir explained multiple options I had to get my child's work done, that my son would be a candidate for either oral sedation or anesthesia. He told me about his career and everything he said put me at ease to choose him to do my sons dental work. The staff was nice and offered stickers and a prize from the treasure chest at the end of each appt. O and Dr. Sapir even gives your kid a balloon animal! We have now finished all my sons dental work, we chose the oral sedation option. My son felt no pain, has no anxiety about the dentist and remembers nothing! We will be going to him as our regular dentist from now on. Thank you Dr. Sapir for listening to all my concerns and working with us on the best treatment plan for my son!

After a few other consults, we were referred to Norfolk Pediatric Dentistry for my 3 year old who needed somewhat invasive work. Dr. Sapir was absolutely amazing, made her feel comfortable from the beginning and her treatment plan went better than we could've imagined. It went so well that after years of not seeing a dentist due to a severe phobia, I decided to give it a shot with his wife, Dr. Mindy. We're about halfway through my treatment plan and this was the best decision I ever made. Give them a try, you won't regret it!!! They offer sedation dentistry for chickens like myself

My daughter was absolutely terrified of dentistry until I met dr. Sapir. He made her feel comfortable and very happy while going through extensive dental work. I highly recommend this office for all children afraid of dental visits! He is nothing short of a god sent gift!!!!
