Dr. Shahhal has completed many courses on advanced cosmetic dentistry at the Worlds leading Las Vegas Institute (LVI), including advanced courses in Occlusion and Neuromuscular Dentistry. Additionally, Dr. Shahhal is a certified dentist for the fabrication and placement of Lumineers by Cerinate. Dr. Rima C. Shahhal has received many awards for her commitment to outstanding dentistry including The Pierre Fouchard Academy, Candidate of Merit Omicron Kappa Upsilon, and The Quintessence Award for Academic Achievement. Dr. Shahhal is a member of American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and San Diego County Society Dental Association.
My life long passion for dentistry originates from the scientific doctrines emphasized by my loving parents who have worked in the medical / dental community. My father & mother constantly emphasized the concepts of integrity, empathy & respect throughout my academic career. A close connection with my mother harvested an admiration for the dental profession. It was obvious that her ability to be a constructive source in an individuals life was deeply rewarding. This feeling was reciprocated through the immense loyalty and respect each patient had for her practice.
At UCLA School of Dentistry, I continually sought to expand my depth of knowledge within dentistry. I was fortunate to serve a wide variety of patients providing a variety of services. Furthermore, I have been fortunate enough to serve various leadership roles throughout my tenure at the school:

Dr. Ashley Ingram, D.D.S. believes in quality, conservative dentistry and the importance of life-long learning. After graduating from UCLA School of Dentistry, she completed a General Practice Residency where she worked as a dentist in the VA Hospital of Fresno and Community Regional Medical Center. Here she became experienced with dental trauma and treatment on small children. She strives to give the best experience to every patient and provide a calm, positive atmosphere in the dental office.

It was very nice experience working with Mallory, you almost can't feel her hands working on your teeth, amazing results and will check on you every 2 minutes to make sure you are alright and nothing is hurting. The doctor was amazing too she remembers my conditions very well and explains what I need to be looking forward for regarding my teeth. Thank you Nordahl Dental team :)

I came to ND after my trusted dentist of 20 years had retired, and I had a couple bad experiences trying to find a new provider. I am fortunate to say that I have hit the jackpot with Dr. Sami and his team! They address all of your dental concerns with a "no BS" attitude, and go the extra mile to thoroughly go through the procedures and their level of timely, medical necessity. In simpler terms, I've never felt pressured to get unnecessary work done nor hustled in the work received. The office itself is beautifully articulated, stockpiled with all of the latest equipment and technology; a hidden gem to say the least. Even the administrative personnel is super friendly and helpful. They send out plenty of reminders, advise of copayment prior to the visit so no need for surprises. Also, honorable mention to the Med Assistant, Sandra, for being a fantastic advocate for my comfort and peace of mind - it felt like I was amongst friends and my dental work was completed entirely painless and at record speed! I can't thank everybody there enough for how flawlessly you execute your roles.

This place is just fantastic. Dr.Sam and his team are extremely nice and give you all the information you need to maintain good and healthy teeth. I love how good he is at explaining your case and guiding you to healthier habits. I highly recommend this place.

Everyone is always so happy to see me and they make me feel so welcome. I think my dental hygienist remebered me even though I hadn't seen him my last visit. He gave me advice without making me feel ashamed for any shortcomings. I appreciate that they perfer to address potential problems before they become a real issue.

I always have a wonderful experience at Nordahl Dental! Over the past 8 years, Dr. Shahhal and her staff have helped me keep my teeth clean and healthy. I'm especially grateful for their work on my veneers - I get many comments about how great my front teeth look and when I say they are veneers, I always get surprised reactions because they look so natural. Dr Shahhal and Sean are amazing! She has a wonderful demeanor and Sean is an amazing hygienist! He caught a medical condition before my doctors. He's knowledgeable and shares that with his patients. Nordahl dental is no longer in network but I will be staying put because I trust them and am willing to pay a little extra for quality care.

Vanessa is professional, kind and honest as much or more than any hygienist I have worked with. She has always been nice to me. Today I mentioned I use a topical anesthetic. She said thanks for reminding me, I had forgotten. I appreciated that honesty. It is so easy to paper over little oversights in the medical world. She also said which do you like, the gel or rinse. Other hygienists just give me the one they want without mentioning the choices. I appreciated the consideration.

Love this group. Vanessa is kind and caring as are all of the staff my husband & I have encountered at Nordahl Dental practice. We have been more than satisfied over the years with Dr Rima at her old location & then when she partnered with her son Dr Sami and the new office just steps away from the old. For someone who was terrified of the dentist office Dr Rima certainly has gotten me over that fear. Highly recommend .

I have been going to this dental office for several years. I have shared my experiences with family and friends hence many of them now go here. Most recently my dental hygienist was Mallory, and I can't say enough about her! This visit was for a routine teeth cleaning. She was friendly, professional, gentle and efficient - all of which worked together to alleviate my usual "dental office anxiety". The appointment went by quickly and I was highly satisfied with the results. See ya in 6 months!
