NOLA Pediatric Dentistry - Pediatric dentist in New Orleans, LA

If you visit our office, youll see right away that everything was designed with children and parents in mind. Our facility is bright, fun, clean and modernwhich the kids love. And our all-digital platform means all of your childs dental information and records are stored digitally, so parents never have to worry about keeping up with paperwork.

Our team, beginning with Dr. Norbo, is trained and experienced in pediatric dental care. Children are not just a subset of patients for us, they are our only patients. Since we care exclusively for children and young adults, we believe we are better suited and better equipped to provide pediatric care than general dentists are.

Its important to us that our young patients are as comfortable as possible when they visit our office. We dont want kids to dread their visits to the dentist. If possible, we want them to look forward to those visits! So weve designed a clean, bright office with surroundings and amenities that kids enjoy, and an all-digital platform to make life just a bit easier for busy parents.

Kris Norbo, DDS, MSD has brought the highest standards and practices in pediatric dentistry and oral health to the New Orleans area. Dr. Kris obtained his BS in Biology and minor in Chemistry from Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia. It was during his undergraduate tenure that he would gain his first experience in patient treatment as an EMT with the local fire and EMS department.

After college, Dr. Kris attended the VCU School of Dentistry in Richmond, Virginia, where he obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. During his fourth and final year, Dr. Kris was fortunate to match as his number one choice for residency at LSU's Pediatric Dentistry program in New Orleans. It is here at LSU when he obtained two additional achievements: his certificate of speciality in Pediatric Dentistry and Masters in Science of Dentistry (MSD). Further, Dr. Kris then successfully passed both a written examination and oral examination administered by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD), a feat achieved by only a small percentage of pediatric dentists nation-wide.

While attending residency in New Orleans, Kris met his now wife, Dr. Ashley White. After graduation, Drs. Kris and Ashley moved back to Dr. Kris's home state of Virginia. After several years of successful practice in Loudoun County, they decided to move back to New Orleans and establish roots there. Once back, Dr. Kris quickly realized that there was much more to be offered to the New Orleans patient base and decided to open NOLA Pediatric Dentistry.

When Dr. Kris is not at NOLA Pediatric Dentistry, he will continue to be an associate professor at LSU School of Dentistry's Pediatric Department. In addition, Dr. Kris is a member of the Craniofacial (cleft palate) team at Childrens Hospital. His office offers nitrous oxide sedation, oral conscious sedation, and even IV sedation with Dr. Robert Watson, a pediatric anesthesiologist. For patients with special needs and those needing full mouth dental rehabilitation, Dr. Kris has privileges at Children's Hospital of New Orleans where he can complete all of their treatment under general anesthesia.

To ensure his patients are receiving the highest possible care, Dr. Kris has also obtained a license in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Basic Life Support (BLS). He also spends time regularly volunteering with the Special Olympics and Mission of Mercy (MOM) dental projects.

Dr. Kris brings honesty and professionalism to your family while still maintaining an approachable and fun nature. He actively works to better his local New Orleans community and is a staunch advocate of local culture and sports.

When not practicing pediatric dentistry, Dr. Kris and his wife Ashley enjoy spending time trying new restaurants, running, playing golf and tennis, and riding bikes alongside their three dogs, Pepper, Polo, and Gracie.

Dr. Robert Watson received his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, Alabama. After completion of an internship at Carraway Methodist Medical Center, Dr. Watson completed his anesthesiology residency training at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He received his pediatric anesthesiology training at the Childrens Hospital of Alabama.

Upon completion of his training, Dr. Watson returned to his hometown of Mobile, Alabama, to provide anesthesia care at the University of South Alabama Childrens and Womens Hospital as well as at USA Health University Hospital. He received board certification in the specialty of Anesthesiology in 2007 and achieved board certification in the subspecialty of Pediatric Anesthesiology when certification first became available in 2013.

After over twelve years of providing inpatient and outpatient anesthesia care at the University of South Alabama, Dr. Watson has now focused his practice on the care of children undergoing office-based dental procedures. Dr. Watson is committed to providing high-quality, safe sedation services to children in need of dental treatment in the offices of pediatric dentists.

I was denied an appointment because my kid is 11. Angelica told me they don't take new patients after 9 years old. It seems odd being a pediatric dental office.

Took our two boys, ages 6 and 2, for their first visit since moving to New Orleans. This was our 2-year old's first time in the chair. Our dental hygienist was very patient and encouraging. The kids loved the TV on the ceiling. Dr. Norbo spoke to my husband and I about our kiddos' teeth and was very open to hearing our questions and concerns. Will definitely continue to go back.

Excellent dentist! We just moved to the area and my daughter had to get a filling and sealant, and they were so professional and kind. Everything went smoothly and my 5 year old said she loved the new dentist (which I did not expect after a filling!). Dr. Kris explained everything in detail so we could decide what needed to be done and the assistants and office staff were super sweet and helpful!

I recently took my 3 year old for his first dentist appointment. All of the staff members were so welcoming and friendly. We were taken back right after we checked in, and my son watched tv on the ceiling with headphones on while they cleaned his teeth. He had a great experience, and we were in and out pretty quickly! I'm so glad we found Nola Pediatric and that they accept our insurance!

Really appreciated the thorough visit & feedback on changing bad habits that affect dental health! We are new patients & surely won't be going anywhere else. Very grateful to Dr. Kris for spending plenty of time w us & talking through a treatment plan. Mostly I appreciate his philosophy on the emotional/mental health associated w dental care & children. He truly allows what's an overwhelming experience for most to becoming genuinely enjoyable. Thank you to a very warm, helpful, & friendly staff as well!

My experience began BEFORE coming to the office. When I called to request an appointment for my 3 year old nephew that has ASD and some sensory issues I was asked about his reactions to lights, music, whether or not he'll prefer the door open or closed etc., that let me know they had a lot of experience with kids with disabilities which was important to me. There was plenty of parking, friendly and cordial staff, office was clean, modern and kid friendly. Rebecca was AMAZING! She was soooo patient and accommodating with my nephew and was able to get the cleaning done and X-rays (even though he was squirming a bit) Dr. Kris was friendly, explained X-ray findings and recommended future procedures that's needed. Megan and Lauren were very helpful in explaining cost, billing, and scheduling future appointments. I'm very confident that future dental work will go as smoothly as todays first visit here. THANK YOU ALL!

We absolutely love NOLA pediatric dentistry! The entire clinic is so focused on kids and making their dental experience so positive. I have never experienced such a kid-centered clinic and the staff is so kind, professional, competent and thorough! I only wish I had access to a dentist practice like this when I was a kid. So grateful to find this gem in NOLA. We couldn't recommend them more!

Dr. Norton and his staff were friendly and wonderful. He addressed issues with my son that had been overlooked by his own dentist and found a few issues I wasn't even aware of. I knew my son had a tongue tie but I was not aware of the lip tie or the other cavities he had from teeth grinding. I had noticed one and asked his dentist about it and they said that his teeth were fine. Sometimes second or even third opinions are needed. So thanks Doc for fixing my baby's teeth lip and tongue!

Dr. Kris and his staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable! My son needed a procedure requiring anesthesia, so naturally, I had several questions. They were very thorough and accommodating before, during, and after his procedure. Dr. Kris provides a lot of one-on-one time with his patients and their parents, which is invaluable. I highly recommend!

My baby teeth looks amazing thanks to Dr. Norbo & staff. My baby had to get root canals and white crowns placed on his two front teeth. Dr. Norbo made sure I was fully informed about the procedure. Everyone at the office really went above and beyond to take great care of my 23 month old.

I still cannot shake the experience here. The visit was traumatizing. My child left traumatized and as an adult/parent I exited feeling the same way. The hygienist was annoyed as my daughter and I came back. My 5 year old entered in fine but once in the chair was a bit nervous, the heavy annoying sighing of the hygienist set a tone. Along with her lack of "bedside manor" at every movement of my child she would force her arm down into her. I interjected after the 2nd time thinking clearly this was a mistake and inquired what the procedure and protocol is when a child is having a hard time. She said we just hold them down. I said you don't mean you HOLD them down...she said yeah we do what we need to clean I mean we don't hurt them. I was upset by this response obviously. I had been trying to talk my daughter down while in the midst. Hearing my distaste for the statements made the dentist enters..never thing I know the hygienist is hiding my daughter down the dentist has and elbow into her and I'm looking at him he says I can stop if you'd like I said yes stop he continued until I was able to get her up off of the chair....she was glued to me I was in shock of what had just occurred. He continuously attempted to reassure me "we didn't hurt her you know we didn't hurt her" I was at a loss for words but wish I would have said are you kidding me?! Upon exiting I'm being called over and stopped before exiting to schedule my next appointment to which I respond absolutely not. My child has never had issues with the dentist and has left this business traumatized.
