Tracey was born and raised in Chillicothe, Illinois. She graduated from Illinois Central Colege in May 1990 with and Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene and was licensed to practice in Illinois. Her husband's job for the the rail road brought them both to Gretna, La in 1992. She attained her dental hygiene license through LSU to practice dental hygiene in the state of Louisiana in 1992.
Jeskea was born and raised in Bastrop, LA. She graduated from Career Technical College in May 2015 with an Associates Degree in Radiology. She started working in dentistry right after graduation as a dental assistant in Monroe, LA before relocating to New Orleans in 2016 to work with Dr. Schafer. At our office, Jeseka takes care of scheduling patients, working with dental insurance, and helping ensure that our patients get the best care possible.
Angela was born in Monroe, Louisiana but spent her childhood and teen years traveling and living abroad. She is a proud Air Force brat that calls Bastrop, La home. Angela graduated from Peachtree Dental Assisting School in 2009. She received her Expanded Duty Dental Assisting certification from Univeristy of Louisiana in Monroe in 2010.
Dr. Russell Schafer is happy and proud to call New Orleans his home. He was born in New Orleans, raised in Pearl River, and attended Jesuit High School and graduated in 2003. He went to Rice University in Houston where he graduated with a bachelors and masters in mechanical engineering degree. While at Rice, Dr. Schafer was a a cheerleader for all four years, active in Rice Catholic Student Association as well as student government, and tutored fellow students as well. Before attending dental school, Dr. Schafer spent time working for oil companies and both in the oil fields in Mexico as well as the refineries. Before he graduated though, he met his wife Alison who is also an engineer.
In the summer of 2009, they got married in Houston and moved to New Orleans so that Dr. Schafer could attend LSU Dental School. While in dental school, Dr. Schafer developed a love of learning, but he realized that dental school would not give him the knowledge he needed. While in school, he focused on learning modern dental techniques through attending courses given by the Louisiana Dental Association, American Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. In the past decade, dental technology has grown faster than any point in the past century. Dr. Schafer spends many hours researching and studying new materials and techniques so that he can help his patients get the best care possible.Dr. Schafer takes four to five times more continuing education hours than the state mandates dentists take in order to keep up with the ever-changing world of medicine and dentistry.
Dr. Schafer decided to focus on dentures because he believes that there is a need in New Orleans for well-made dentures. One key to well-made dentures is listening to the patient to understand the expectations and the type of smile wanted. Dr. Schafer understands that each of his patients has unique needs and focuses on having a personal relationship so that the treatment options fit the goals and budget of each person. He works hard to ensure his patients get great care at a price that doesn't break the bank.
When Dr. Schafer isn't in his dental practice, he is often found in the kitchen. He cooks all types of food but loves to grill. His mom taught his brother and him how to cook from a young age, and it's a hobby that they both practice to this day. The love of food and cooking is a big reason why he loves dentistry. It's hard to enjoy a poboy or a snowball without good teeth, and it's hard to enjoy New Orleans if you can't enjoy the food.

Dr Schafer is a denture expert. He worked with my husband to ensure perfect fit and comfort. The dentures look very natural and complimentary. We would definitely recommend his services, especially for anyone with a challenging fit for dentures.

Excellent people here. Everyone was friendly and approachable. It was easy to get an appointment as a new patient in a relatively short time, and preregister my information online. Dr. Schaeffer was gentle as he could be and he communicated well to ensure I was properly numbed for my fillings. There was no hard-sell for unnecessary work and they were transparent about my billing and cost before work began. I'll definitely look him up whenever I need to go back. Thanks!

The staff at NOLA Dentistry is awesome!!! Angela and Jessica make it feel like I'm visiting family every time I go for an appointment. The office is small enough that each staff member knowns me and my son by name. I absolutely hate going to the dentist (as do most people), but I love this place. Dr. Shafer is very personable and approachable. He always explains your treatment plan in depth and will never do any unnecessary work. I will miss Tracey, my hygienist b/c she's retiring in April. I visited Dr. Schafer office for my mothers dental implants. Doc was extremely thorough with her case and very helpful with all possible approaches to help her with the pain. Staff was extremely helpful as well. Will highly recommend this clinic for all your dental needs. The most humble and professional dentist I have ever visited.

Like many folks, I hate going to the dentist, and as such I put off taking care of a few problems I had. When the pain got unbearable I finally made an appointment with a dentist recommended to me by a friend. It was a great recommendation. The staff that I interacted with were very friendly, pleasant, and had a sunny disposition. Dr. Schafer possessed those qualities as well, and his thoughtful bedside manner made me feel very comfortable. The extraction work he performed was fast and efficient. I will definitely recommend NOLA Dentures to anyone asking. Ugh, I'm gonna say it...I can't wait for my next visit next month.

Everyone was so very nice. I have been to many Dentist in my life and always was uncomfortable during x-rays. When the lady did my x-rays she was Very gentle. Not one time did I experience any pain or discomfort from her during the x-rays. The Dentist was very nice and explained everything in detail about my upcoming visits. I would recommend this office to everyone!

Recently went to this office and had fillings...and I would love to return because the dentist was soooo nice and gentle. The office creeped me out a little at first with tooth fragments from dentures being made there but hey...the only thing that I will not return for is the front desk lady with the glasses. She is very rude and not patient at all. She was being very rough when doing x-rays. I told her she was hurting me several times and she got mad, stormed out of the room and told me the dentist would finish. Jesecka was very sweet and helpful and so was the dentist. But I will not be returning. Thank you Dr. Schaefer for everything.
