Dr. Bijan Afar, Periodontics and Implant Dentistry After graduating from UCLA with a degree in microbiology, Dr. Afar went on to achieve his Doctorate of Dental Surgery and Master of Science in Oral Biology from UCLA School of Dentistry. During his time at UCLA, he was a Regents scholarship nominee, and he received a California State Fellowship and Hortense Fishbaughs Scholarship. As one of the top 5 percent of graduating students in the country to receive the Dentist-Scientist Fellowship from the NIH, he was able to continue his education and research in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry at the University of Washington, Seattle.
Dr. Kakoli, Endodontics Dr. Kakoli graduated with a degree in biology from the University of Maryland. He went on to receive his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the schools School of Dentistry, and he completed his residency in endodontics there after attending a hospital general practice residency at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Baltimore. He has received such honors as the Harry E. Latcham Memorial Medal for excellence in complete oral restoration, and he is a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Society. Dr. Kakoli is an active member of the California Dental Association, the American Dental Association and the American Association of Endodontists. His work has been published in the Journal of Endodontics.
Dr. Allen Yaghoubzadeh, Orthodontics Dr. Yaghoubzadeh, who is a Los Angeles native, attended the University of Southern California. He completed his residency in orthodontics and dento-facial orthopedics at the University of Connecticut, where he also received his masters degree in cranio-facial biology. He is well versed in traditional orthodontics as well as more advanced orthodontic procedures.
Dr. Poneh Ghasri, General Dentist Dr. Ghasri is an experienced cosmetic dentist who regularly creates stunning smile makeovers to help her patients achieve their best smiles yet. She graduated with honors from UCLA, after which she attended the UCLA School of Dentistry for her Doctorate of Dental Surgery. She continues her education in order to provide her patients with superior service, and she has completed extensive courses in cosmetic dentistry, including Invisalign, implant reconstruction and Lumineers. Known for her professionalism and excellence, her patients include celebrities and Hollywood stars.
As the daughter of a retired dentist, Dr. Ghasri discovered her passion for dentistry and helping patients early in life. She enjoys taking self-improvement, communication, business, leadership, marketing and other educational classes. In her free time, she collects shot glasses and perfumes and enjoys belly dancing and reading. Dr. Ghasri enjoys spending time with friends and family.
Dr. Tiraspolskaya, General Dentist After graduating with honors from UCLA with a degree in biochemistry, Dr. Tiraspolskaya continued her education at UCLAs School of Dentistry, where she received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery and graduated in the top 5 percent of her class. She has continued her education and entered a residency program at Wilson-Jennings-Bloomfield UCLA Venice Dental Center for Advanced Education in General Dentistry. Dr. Tiraspolskaya has completed courses in dental implant reconstruction and cosmetic dentistry. She is qualified to diagnose and treat both simple and complex dental conditions and is experienced in implant restorations and prosthetic dentistry to treat the partial or complete absence of teeth.

I have been with this dental center for the last nine years, and besides the pricey service, which is ok for me, they have changed a lot. Their front desk representative is unprofessional and would cancel the appointment at the very last minute without advance notice. They changed my appointments several times and this year, and I finally had to leave and find a better dentist. Also, check pricing somewhere else before getting trapped here.

I've been terrified of the dentist for years, after some pretty intense experiences. The first time I came in here I was shaking with anxiety and tears, and now when I go in it's a world of difference. I honestly can't say enough great things about the staff here.. they really work to make you feel heard, and make sure you're comfortable. They're gold!

This place is horrible, I scheduled a basic cleaning, they up sold me a deep cleaning and wouldn't give me a basic cleaning after taking x rays, I left confusedand upset. Now I'm trying to get my x-rays for my new dentist and they're taking their sweet time sending them over. There's no way they're 4 star. 0 stars!!!

Shares lobby with a urgent care center so when you go to get your teeth cleaned you are sitting with a bunch of sick people. While I was waiting for my dental appointment an urgent care patient lost her mind and made a huge scene and was screaming about how long she had been waiting to see a doctor which was uncomfortable. I waited over 40 mins for my appointment and when I asked the front desk what was going on - it turns out that the receptionist had mistakenly crossed off my name from the waiting list without calling me up. Also as a few other patients have reviewed, very expensive. Higher prices than most dental offices. 2 stars instead of 1 bc the actual dentists and hygienist are nice (even though they try to up sell you).

I have a lot to say about Dr. Afar and his practice I'll save that for another time but right now I want to point out someone by the name of Azi, she has been my dental hygienist RDH for the past several years. As most of us hate visiting our dentist especially getting a good cleaning every 3 to 4 months, I have to really call out Azi for some outstanding work. Aside from the fact that she has the best bedside manner with the patient. She really seems to care about what she's doing and I really love her knowledge base as well. I think that's where I was sold. So with that being said, I highly recommend her and what appears to be some really good expertise in this line of business thank you Azi!

I've been coming here for awhile and always have excellent service. Dr. Afar and the friendly staff makes you feel comfortable and that's not always easy while sitting in a chair at the dentist!

I've been coming here for a few years now and have many procedures done, from basic cleanings to wisdom teeth removal and beyond. They are always kind, gentle and welcoming. If you are scared or uncomfortable, just tell them, and they will take their time to make you feel at ease.

I didn't know that I have cavities on my teeth since I met Dr Afar. He fixed all my cavities without any pain and problem. He is very caring about customers and what he did. He even contacted me when he was on vacation cuz he wants to make sure how do I feel. He is the best with more than 30 years experience on his career I'm so happy that I found NOHO dental group with the all friendly staff and knowledgeable group.

I already knew i need a deep cleaning but i was just looking for a regular cleaning in the meantime while i can afford. I paid $80 for Xrays because it's the "law" to have those taken Then for $150 the dentist spent maybe 7-10 min cleaning my teeth. So i made the sacrifice to pay $230 for them to tell what i already knew and barely clean my teeth. I've been to other places that for $150 they would do a very decent job. Don't let these 5 stars fool you.

Loose crown, very back lower right. Cracked roots wouldn't hold post. Extraction, bone graft, implant, a few months to integrate, new post & crown. Dr. Afar and his team did their usual outstanding job. Painless, and at a good price. And peace of mind is priceless. Thank you, everyone at NoHo Dental - 5 Stars! Edf

I hate to let the secret out, but Azi is the best! Only reason I'm an adult and go to the dentist twice a year. She "sandblasted" my teeth last time and they look whiter and good.

Like everyone, dental work is mostly unpleasant, but they took really good care that I wasn't in pain and despite having major surgery, it went really smoothly. I was surprised that they followed up a few days later that I wasn't in too much pain. I really happy with the result.
