Dr. Patel was born and raised in Bombay, India. He completed his first Dental School in Maharashtra State in 1997. After graduation, he attended UCLA for advanced dental education and later was accepted in the prestigious and one of the oldest Dental schools in the world, New York University, College of Dentistry in Manhattan, NY. He graduated with Honors in General Dentistry, in 2005. In 2006, Dr. Patel started NJ Smiles Dental in Edison from scratch.
He has attended over 1500 hours of CE credits in the various dental related course. He has amassed over 700 CE hours in Implant Dentistry and over 400 CE hours in Orthodontics including Invisalign. Dr. Patel, belongs to Elite group of handpicked Dentists, known as Reingage, hosted by Dr. Galler. This group processes more than 10% of ALL Invisalign cases in US.
Dr. Patel, is known as a very competent and well-mannered person with the philosophy of patients first. His gentle nature and calm attitude makes a dental visit enjoyable. He is known for his Painless Shots. Dr. Patel, resides in Edison with his wife and two children. Dr. Patel's wife, Reshma, helps him run the dental practices.

Bad experience with Dr. Desai. She injured my mouth badly while removing my wisdom tooth. I don't recommend visiting this place. Feels like I just paid to get myself injured.

Dr. Patel, Dr. Chopra, Neha, and the rest of the staff are really one of a kind. I can't remember everyone's name, but my experience with this dental office over the past 6 months has been progressive, gentle, informative, and patient. From dental implants, Invisalign, extractions, cleanings, bondings, etc., I can definitely say I feel like I'm in excellent hands. Dental work is not cheap and outside of the PATIENT taking the responsibility to advocate and inform themselves on different options, the staff helps as well and is understanding. Highly recommend!

I had a dental emergency and needed a tooth extracted and happened to find NJ Smiles Dental on Google. Gave them a call and they did a wonderful job helping me get an appointment ASAP. Once I got there, the staff was friendly, kind, and efficient. Dr. Patel got the tooth out and had a great sense of humor. Can't thank them enough, they saved me from a ton of pain and anxiety! Also, the office was clean, nice, and I was in and out quickly.

Dr. Patel is a life saver. I have been having continuous headaches and infections only to realize that the previous root canals were not done properly which did cause irreparable damage to my bones. He helped me with the necessary treatments to resolve those perrenial headaches. He believes in doing the right treatment all the time. For me he has performed multiple root canals, fillings and a couple of implants. The facility is modern and equipped with all the modern tools. The staff is fantastic, friendly and patient. Last but not the least, you want a doctor who is available in emergencies and Dr. Patel has gone out of his way to attend to my emergencies. I highly recommend him.

Never ever book appointment with this Dental office. They never honor your priority and respect. I have booked an appointment 2 months back toward the end of the year and they have cancelled my appointment as their staff is unavailable. They have 2 office, they could find any alternative try to adjust on their existing schedule after understand the importance of the patient but they literally cancel the appointment . Their staff is very unprofessional and does not have any respect to talk to their patients. I would recommend no one should visit to their office as you never know you may stuck with cancellation or you may need to hear the garbage from their staff.

Highly recommend! There are alot of great things to say about this practice from the receptionists (Neha), to the technology, their cleanliness, and most importantly Dr.Chopra. She is personable, extremely knowledgeable, knows her stuff, and she explains things to really help you understand. You ask questions she takes her time, provides her opinion/suggestion, and she is super honest; I love her honesty! Dr.Chopra is exceptional and I wouldn't go anywhere else even though I'm 30 minutes away.

Best dental experience yet! Great staff, very friendly, great energy, and knowledgeable. This office has newer technology that I've never seen before (3D teeth scan). Went as a first time patient for a cleaning which was quick and painless. They also did X-rays so they could properly check the status of my teeth. All of this was fully covered by my insurance as they were in network. The dentist explained everything about my teeth to me in depth and in a way that I could understand as I don't have much dentistry knowledge. It was overall a great experience. I was very comfortable and felt like everyone cared about my teeth and genuinely wanted to help me today. Thanks for a wonderful experience. I definitely found my new dentist.

My first time experience taking my son to NJ Smiles in Avenel was very pleasant. Dr. Chopra and Dr. Patel as well as the staff was professional and kind. The establishment is very Clean and updated. We will be returning soon and locked in our next appointment.

The doctor is really good but the staffs are very illiterate and negligent. Doctor Patel referred my wife to another doctor and the staff didn't give the full report including CT scan even after asking multiple times. When we went to the referred doctor he asked us to bring the CT scan and NJ smiles staff gave me the CT scan of other patient with my wife name written on envelope which I did deliver it to the referred doctor. Now their unprofessionalism is that they are calling me again to pick and deliver the right CT scan report.
