Dr. Kelly grew up in Southeast Missouri, which is why Nixa feels just like home. After receiving a bachelors in biology at Westminster College, Dr. Kelly spent four years completing her doctorate of dental surgery at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. While in dental school, Dr. Kelly met her husband Dr. Steve. They have been blessed with one son together named Clark. The Doves are avid golfers, love traveling, and spend much of their time volunteering at church.
Dr. Kelly easily relates to her dental patients. Ive been told before that Im a not a very good dental patient, says Dr. Kelly. Im antsy, nervous, and dont particularly like having dental work done. Even though I have a REALLY good and gentle dentist my husband. Hahaha. Dr. Kelly has felt that this has been a huge advantage for her to be able to relate to her patients, especially the fearful ones. Over half of the population has some form of dental anxiety, thats huge! As a dentist, you cant ever forget this! I always strive to be gentle, kind, and non-judgmental with each and every patient.

When a local church hosted several orphans from Ukraine for a few weeks during the summer of 2017, Nixa Smiles volunteered to donate multiple dental care services. About a dozen children needed a broad range of services, including regular dental cleanings, fillings, sealants and fluoride treatments, as well as some more complex procedures such as tooth extractions. Those kids really needed dental care, so we jumped in and took care of all of them, said Dr. Kelly Dove of Nixa Smiles. Where they live, they dont have fluoride in their water or in their toothpaste, so we focused a lot on preventative work such as sealants and fluoride treatments.
Born a Buckeye and raised a Hoosier, Dr. John Yoon is blessed to serve Nixa and the Ozarks communities. He grew up learning about patient care early on from his father being a physician and mother being a nurse and enjoys improving peoples lives thru a healthy smile. After receiving his undergraduate degree from Indiana University, Dr. Yoon received a Masters in Biology from Indiana Purdue University of Indianapolis while employed with the Indiana Health Department.
He furthered his education at the Indiana University School of Dentistry and graduated in 2006 to receive his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. The following year Dr. Yoon continued his training at the Roudebush VA Medical Center of Indianapolis for his General Practice Residency in dentistry.

11 years young. Who knew that at such a decisive age Dr. Steve would decide that being a dentist was both his calling and his passion. Becoming a dentist has driven Dr. Steve since childhood, and even after attaining his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Missouri in Kansas City in 2012, he still cannot learn enough about the science of smiles. This is why Dr. Steve spends many of his days off, you guessed it, learning more about dentistry.
So, what makes Dr. Steve so different? Well, hed say threefold: primarily, his faith, a guiding force that helps to ensure he makes the best and most ethical decisions regarding his patients and their treatment. Secondarily, his insatiable desire to be the best at what he does, which is why every year, he spends double the required amount on continuing education. And Finally, his wife, Dr. Kelly Dove, who not only supports his ambition but shares in it too as she is also a dentist!
I want when friends (I call them friends because I dont like calling them patients, they are much more than teeth, gums, and a chart) walk in the door of our office and they think, There is something special about this place, this place understands me, this place gets me. I happened to come across Nixa Smiles as an emergency and the only dentist in the area that could get me in as an existing filling had broke the beginning of this year. Not being a fan at all and having multiple bad experiences with dentists i wasnt looking forward to any visit. The entire staff is amazing and will go beyond your needs to take care of you and make you comfortable! I highly recommend them. Dr Dove and Emily are the best.

Very kind, polite and calm environment. They all asked my husband and myself several times if we had questions and listened to us if we did. I appreciate such an overall supportive staff and a business that works together as a team. The Nixa Smiles crew is so friendly! They go above and beyond to make sure you have a great experience. My 7 year old actually ENJOYS going to the dentist. Bonus: their Nixa Plan is so helpful for those of us who don't have traditional dental insurance!

What a great dental experience! Friendly and comfortable from the time you walk in. Had a broken tooth that was restored to like new. Everything was explained very well through the entire process. I saw Dr. Kelly Dove. She was just great and very pleasant. The doctor and all the staff are to notch!!! I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a dentist.
