  • Safe and Sterile Environment: We practice the utmost in sterilization and disinfection techniques on our instrumentation and in our dental operatories. Much of our continuing education and investment goes into your safety and protection.
  • Comfortable and Relaxing Atmosphere: During treatment, you can relax while watching a favorite TV show or movie, listening to music or taking in the view. Some patients prefer to just take a nap (really!). After your visit, you can freshen up with a warm, scented towel. We try to customize every patients experience to their individual preferences.
  • Commitment to Excellence: Dr. Halim is committed to excellence in dentistry. We employ the highest quality dental materials, the best supplies available, and superior laboratories. We have found that properly executed restorations can and will stand the test of time. In our office, Dr. Halim uses high-powered magnification during dental treatment, which allows us to detect problems that would not be detected by ordinary vision and to make excellent dental restorations.
  • Is this type of personalized dentistry expensive? Initially, yes it does cost more than HMO dentistry, but over the test of time, excellent dentistry is actually less costly. Quality products, including dental restorations, will last longer and be less expensive in the long run in comparison to inferior products purchased initially for less money.
  • The Patient Experience Matters the Most: Not only is Dr. Halim committed to making you want to visit his office again in the future, but he also wants you to tell everyone you know about the wonderful dental experience and five-star customer service experience you had at our office. Your opinion matters.
  • Dr. Halim is a Dawson trained dentist with advanced training in the diagnosis and treatment of complex dental problems, often related to the bite. Using the Dawson concepts of Complete Dentistry, Dr. Halim performs a thorough evaluation of your entire occlusal system when you visit with us for routine dental care. This means that we go beyond appearances and the health of the teeth and gums, analyzing the fit and function of your jaw joints. All aspects of your bite should be working together harmoniously with no discomfort- this is the foundation of lifelong oral health and wellness.

The best dentist experience I have had in a very long time! Dr. Halim and his team are incredibly knowledgeable, empathetic, kind, and supportive. I loved that Dr. Halim gathered all the information first, then analyzes it and creates the best plan for the individual patient.

The dentist and office staff are welcoming and professional. They will take the time to explain the complexities of a procedure or discuss billing options.

After almost two years of Covid delay I went back to the Dentist for a cavity filling and diagnostics for problems with my bite that was causing cavities & cracks in my molars. Marilyn was a wonderful, friendly Hygienist and Dr. Hamlin did a good filling and shared his prognosis. I'll be back for follow up to protect my teeth as I age

I've been with this practice before Dr. Halim bought it. He has developed the practice into state of the art practices. Dr. Halim and his staff are very professional and makes my experience well worth the drive from North Carolina. I will not let another dentist work on me.

I give this practice five stars for quality of dental care and one star for business practices. I do so with regret. I have been a patient of Dr. Halim's for three years. During that time I have had several problems getting the office to submit timely and correct claims to my insurance companies. Of note is that the office does not respond on a timely basis to my inquiries and requests regarding insurance claims.

I was so happy to find my new dentists right in my neighborhood a few years ago. Dr Nishan and his staff are war, friendly, and always professional. The scheduling is easy, they send appointment reminders, and the office is calm and quaint. I highly recommend them.

I'm torn writing this review because Dr. Nishan Halim and his team on Capitol Hill are a well kept secret! Seriously, I can't overstate the quality of the care here - and I'm dentist terrified. They don't have clients, they have fans.

Starting with the positives: A really beautiful office and modern, state of the art equipment with a very helpful dental assistant who did an excellent job with the cleaning. Negatives: There are definitely shady business practices at play here. This office is a "pay for services" office meaning you'll pay for the full bill before anything gets reimbursed directly to you by insurance. While I knew this going in, I was 100% assured my insurance was not only going to be accepted, but that they work with my insurance company with other patients. I kept trying to get written communication of what the end bill would look like and cost so I could verify with my insurance company and they kept on avoiding that and calling me to go over details (so as to avoid putting it in writing?). Well, you guessed it, I got a large bill, and only got reimbursed for a fraction of it, leaving me to pay over $300 for a freaking dentist appointment that was routine in every sense of the word. Just a cleaning and 1st time visit. I've since tried to communicate with the office about this as calmly as possible over many months only to be not responded to for weeks on end and claiming that staff quitting was the reason this occurred when finally responded to. I'm still waiting on responses after many emails sent in vain. One side note, there was a user car salesman vibe after my cleaning from the actual dentist while I was given the hard sell pitch for a water pik I didn't need as I already had one and it really rubbed me the wrong way. If you're not made of money (which is their ideal customer) go the traditional route and find someone who deals directly with insurance on your behalf as they will try to bilk you for every dollar possible.

Dr. Halim does more than fix dental problems. He considers and plans for the future health of my teeth and gums which I appreciate. His passion for his work is palpable as he and his staff run a smart, welcoming, neighborhood practice.

I was recommended to them by my cousin. I couldn't be happier to consider Nishan Halim DMD my dentist now and for the foreseeable future. He and his staff are warm, welcoming, professional and technologically superior to any other practice I've experienced. I am so much at ease during my visits that I have actually fallen asleep in the chair! Simply awesome!

I think Dr. Halim's practice is superb. He is very knowledgeable and up-to-date on the latest developments in dentistry, and he's also thoughtful and collaborative about when to take action and why. I appreciate that enormously. And he and everyone on his staff are so delightful. I recommend him every chance I get.

Dr. Halim is the best dentist I've ever went to. He's extremely honest and up front and was there for me when I had an emergency issue. He makes sure that you're comfortable during the procedures and does anything he can to alleviate any pain you may have. His staff is just as amazing! They always have a smile on their faces and make sure you have everything you need and respond immediately to any questions or concerns you may have. I've now found my forever dentist .

Dr. Halim is the best dentist I ever had, and that includes my cousin who my parents made me go to. I have since moved from DC but I still come to Dr. Halim for important issues and advice. You'll never go wrong when you become a patient of Dr. Halim!
