Dr. Niemiec's dental career began in Peasco at the Health Centers of Northern New Mexico. After four years in public health, he branched out into private practice in Taos where he has been since 1998.
As a graduate of The University of Texas Health Sciences Center Dental School, (the second highest ranked dental school in the nation), Dr. Niemiec is passionate about his work and is never content with anything less than the highest quality. He has a very personable manner and is always approachable and patient to answer all of your questions. He is accessible to his patients 24 hours a day for emergencies, and strives to make your office visits not only pleasant, but also enjoyable. 'We are a nice office, and we only have nice patients.'
Dr. Niemiec has spent years expanding his areas of expertise with some of the highest rated training programs in the country. He spent 18 months attending courses with The Dawson Academy for occlusion and TMJ problems. 12 months of courses in Los Angeles brought him surgical training at the University of Southern California, with special emphasis on implant placement. He is certified to offer conscious sedation for the ultimate in stress-free dentistry, as well as being a certified provider of Invisalign and Smart Moves for straighter teeth without braces.

I'm so disappointed with the way this office handled my mothers broken tooth. The first time she went she told me the doctor asked her if she was eating rocks. She took it as a joke the second time it happened again to the same tooth the doctor told her again if she was eating rocks she said everyone in the office was laughing. She came home very upset and doesn't want to go back. If this is how you treat your patients I won't go back either. What a shame. You should be there to help your patients not insult them. This office is incredible! The office is clean and the staff are extremely kind. They have helped me out many times when I have had to reschedule last minute or had problems with insurance coverage. They are extremely accommodating. The atmosphere they create is very welcoming. My #1 recommendation for Dentists in Taos!

Dr. Niemiec's staff is really helpful, especially in the front office. They always do their best to accommodate requests and listen to the patient's needs. Anjanette was especially helpful this morning fulfilling a request on short notice!

We recently moved from the east coast and took our time finding a good dentist. Mark Niemiec came highly recommended by many of our friends. One friend told us his dentist in Dallas was impressed with Dr. Niemiec's work! My husband and I are extremely pleased with the excellent care we are receiving from Dr. Niemiec and his staff.

Obviously, negative reviews are removed. 2016 - I was in absolute pain for weeks because an extraction was not scheduled. It started with a broken tooth that I wanted pulled. Dr convinced me to crown it. All the epoxy couldn't keep the crown on & it came off in less than 3 months. ($800.) So then I'm told to get a root canal & the crown would be discounted. So I again asked for an extraction & was ignored. Unfortunately, Humana's only dentist in the area was Niemiec.

I loved my dentist appointment, I was told in detail what was going on inside my mouth from my X-rays to pictures to questions I had. Dr Niemiec had lots of knowledge and new just how to tell me without overwhelming me or loosing me.

I love Dr. Niemiec's office. From the very first visit they welcomed me with friendly smiles from the women in the front office who also gave me a welcome gift for choosing their practice. Dr. Niemiec's assistant Veronica was very thorough in explaining how they do their procedure by taking pictures of each tooth so that when The Doctor came in he would explain each one. She was so kind and sweet. When Dr. Niemiec came in he was very nice and thorough by going over all X-rays and pictures tooth by tooth. Then to top off my first appointment Dr. Niemiec went out of his way to give my vehicle a jump start due to a dead battery. I am very happy with their friendly and upbeat staff that I would recommend them to anyone.

The Staff were all amazing and prompt. I was able to be seen in no time at all and subsequent work was scheduled for a reasonable time in the future. Dr. Niemiec was honest, thorough and detailed in the procedure he needed to perform. I am quite satisfied with the work.
