Dr. Rhonda has been providing dental care in our area since 2012, when she and her husband moved here from Minnesota. She is passionate about getting to know her patients wants and needs to provide the best dental experience possible. She frequently attends continuing education courses to improve her skills, and is constantly learning new techniques.
Since moving to Port Lavaca, Dr. Rhonda has immersed herself in the community, serving as an ambassador for the Port Lavaca Chamber of Commerce, treasurer for the Rotary club, campaign chair and board member of the United Way, and member of the Board of Managers for Memorial Medical Center.
She graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, and spent her first 6 years as a dentist with Midwest Dental in Minnesota. Her dedication to serving veterans stems from serving 23 years in the Army National Guard where she was deployed twice to Iraq.

Dr. Nielsen and the professionals that she works with were comforting and amazingly gentle. I had not gone for a dental exam for well over a year and expected much discomfort. I had NONE!! The exam rooms are extremely clean and it is evident that there is much effort is put towards keeping people safe during this COVID time. Plexiglas at the check in desk, a quick pre-appointment temperature check and waiting in vehicle until appointment are just a few visible ways that Nielsen Family Dental keeps their patients safe and healthy. Amazing job Nielsen Family Dental, keep up the great work in these trying times.!!

Nielsen Family Dental is my family's Dentist, The whole staff is wonderful and Dr. Nielsen is amazing. She takes her time and listens to you and makes sure you are happy before you leave! Great local business!

Excellent and very professional office. Dr. Nielsen saw 3 of my grandchildren (ages 4-7) and did fillings and sealants on one. Not a tear!! They were all very happy. She is not only and excellent dentist, but volunteers her time with the Chamber Ambassadors, as well. My husband is a retired dentist who specialized in Cosmetic Dentistry and he thinks she is awesome. Wonderful staff and office.

I was looking for a dentist since mine retired. Dr Neilsen was highly recommended by family and friends. I had a broken tooth that needed removed. She made sure that I had no pain, very gentle. The hygienist was excellent and other office staff very helpful and courteous. I highly Dr. Neilsen.
