I love my job. I got into dentistry because I love the variety. Every day I meet new and interesting people. Whether its an interesting conversation, or an interesting procedure to make your teeth healthy or improve your smile, I try to treat everyone as an individual. I take a lot of pride in my work and I hope I can be of service to you some day as your family dentist.
When not in the office, I try to stay as active as possible.I have played hockey most of my life and continue to play almost every week of the year. I also enjoy playing golf (poorly) and have recently re-taken up tennis after a 20 year hiatus.
I grew up in Minneapolis and attended high school at Minneapolis Southwest. I havent ventured far from my roots and still live in the Uptown area. I did leave Minneapolis for college and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology with a minor in Business from Colorado College and the University of St. Thomas, graduating with honors in 1998. Before dental school, I worked as an EMT, and then in the pharmaceutical industry for about 3 years. I graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 2005.
I am a strong advocate for advanced dental training, and am constantly expanding my knowledge and skills through an extensive amount of ongoing continuing education. I am a proud member of multiple local and national dental associations.
As our office manager, I enjoy the People part of my role best! I am here to help in any way I can to give our patients the care they need and provide them with assistance in the areas of scheduling, insurance, and billing. Ive enjoyed working in the dental field for over 25 years and had the opportunity to join Dr. Nelson in November 2019. When not working, I love spending time with my husband and two daughters. My family is my greatest joy!
Krissy grew up in Blaine and now resides in Champlin. She is a graduate of Herzing University in Dental Assisting and has been a part of the Nicollet Dental team since 2011. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 daughters. They are often at their family cabin fishing, swimming, boating and relaxing. She strives to make everyday positive for the patients and our team.
Erika grew up in Belle Plaine, Minnesota and received her bachelors degree at Mankato state. After college, she found a dental hygiene position on the Big Island of Hawaii. After 5 years she returned home to Minnesota and now lives with her fiance, Kyle, in uptown. Youll find her camping, at a music concert, and/or hula hooping! Shes even got a flaming hula hoop! Erika has been a part of our team since January 2015.
Sally grew up in Monticello. She received her degree in Dental Hygiene at Normandale Community College in 2002. She has worked in private practice ever since, joining our team full time in 2012. She enjoys getting to know her patients and educating people about the importance of a healthy mouth. Outside of work, Sally lives in Bloomington with her husband and 2 boys. They enjoy biking, swimming, skiing, sports and are involved at their church.

Dr. Nelson and the entire staff have been wonderful! They are friendly and thorough with each cleaning. I am especially thankful for the extra measures they have taken during this pandemic. I can't recommend them enough.

Because of this dentist's continued negligence for over a year (lack of complete oral cavity check which is supposed to be done at each 6 month checkup) , I ended up with tongue cancer, neck dissection and radiation. Do your own research online. "Besides routinely watching for cavities and gum problems, your dentist also is your first line of defense against oral cancer. " According to the American Cancer Society, "many precancerous and oral cancers can be found early during routine screening exams by a dentist..". My life will never be the same.
