Dr. Nicholas Kugia earned his undergraduate degree from Illinois Benedictine College. He attended dental school at the University of Illinois Chicago Dental School, graduating in 1990. He worked in Chicago for his first year, then in 1991 Dr. Kugia opened his Elgin dental practice in the same office as his father, Dr. Angelo Kugia, MD.
Dr. Kugiais an attending staff member of Sherman Hospital in Elgin. After 20 years, his practice has grown to include children as young as 3 to the adult as young-at-heart as 101. He is dedicated to offering comfortable, quality dental care in a relaxed, friendly setting.

I have enjoyed being an office administrator for Dr. Kugia since 2013. One of the many things I love about my job is assisting our patients with their insurance questions and helping anyway I can. Outside of the office, I love to cook for my family and try new vegan recipes.
I'm excited to be the newest hygiene addition to Dr. Nicholas Kugia's team. Although I have been in the dental field for the last 5 years, I recently graduated from Rock Valley College with a degree in dental hygiene in spring of 2016. What I love about my job is building relationships and helping patients achieve the best oral health possible. Outside of work I enjoy boating and spending time with my Husband, family, and friends.
I have been assisting Dr. Nicholas Kugia since October 1998. I love helping patients to be comfortable and relaxed. It is my pleasure to help patients regain a healthy smile again. I was born and raised in the Bavarian region of Germany. I moved to the states when I married my husband. I have two adult daughters and will soon be a grandparent. I enjoy kayaking and walking in the summer
I have been apart of Dr. Nicholas Kugia's team since 2011 and in the dental industry since 2010. I graduated from the First Institute with a Dental Assisting certificate in October 2011. I love having the opportunity to educate patients about their oral health and assist in restoring them back to health. Afterwork, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two children. When I'm not with my family, I enjoy sewing and crafting.

Quality family-owned practice, not a chain or corporate office. Dr Kugia is locally grown and cares about his patients. He's very experienced, skilled and gentle, hygienists are the best; I highly recommend, and I'm tough to please. This doctor also responds personally and promptly to emergencies, meeting patients at the office on his days off, whatever it takes. A+

If you have to go to the Dentist (and we all should) it's great to have a dental practice like Dr. Kugia's to go to just as my family has for the past 20+ years. Their staff is top-notch, providing professional dental services in a friendly and caring manner. The appointments are always on time and I always receive the best in care whether it's for a routine appointment like today or for other needed dental services. Dr. Kugia solved 3 different cosmetic problems for me all at one time, which show his years of experience and competence. This in addition to his compassionate and friendly nature. He is a true artist and works great as a team with Carrie. I felt very comfortable and taken care of, which is not easy to find these days! Thank you!!

I have been a patient of Dr. Kugia for 25 years. Throughout the years he has treated my husband, my children and even my grandchildren. And we ALL love him! He is an AWESOME dentist! There are many things to appreciate about the Kugia Dental Practice. 1.) An 11:00 appointment means you will be in the dental chair at 11:01. None of this 30 minutes in the waiting room followed by another 15-20 minutes in the next room waiting for your appointment to start. Dr. Kugia and his staff respect your time by not setting an appointment time that has you come in and then wait 45 minutes to be seen. 2.) Dr. Kugia and his staff are ready for you when you come in. Your chart and the dental tools they need are ready in position. They are ready with any pertinent questions they need before getting started, followed by an opportunity for questions from you to them. 3.) I have complete confidence that I am in safe hands even in the midst of the Covid epidemic. They practice high safety protocols in all aspects of your dental visit. 4.) The office staff is not only friendly but efficient in both scheduling and insurance/billing. 5.) Dental care is important because problems with your teeth and gums can affect your heart and other parts of your body. I know that when I visit Dr. Kugia's practice that I am also getting a comprehensive check up for my overall health. I appreciate that he and his staff take the time and initiative to care about their patients rather than just shuffling them in and out. 6.) Finally, a big shout out to Debbie for my recent visit. You're the best! I appreciate your friendly and professional demeanor. RF

I love how the entire staff makes my family feel as part of their family. They are very professional, but very caring as well. Deb, the hygienist is sooo incredibly caring and make my son feel comfortable and wanting to keep going. Dr Kugia is awesome too!! Thank you!!

Dr. Kugia has been my dentist for well over 10 years and I LOVE HIM AND HIS STAFF!! I am one of those persons that waited for a millennia to see a dentist. When I went in, I was greeted in a VERY understanding and caring manner. That treatment HAS NOT changed in all the years I've been there as a patient. Some faces have changed but the treatment is still top notch! Deb has now been cleaning my entire family's teeth for about 6 years now and her sweet and caring demeanor have even become a great comfort for my 6 year old. She really cares about how her patient is feeling and will go above and beyond to make sure you're comfortable. If I could give these wonderful folks 20 stars, I WOULD! They deserve them and they deserve our business!

Dr. Kugia and his staff are excellent! Kind, thoughtful, thorough and most importantly gentle. Never been a fan of going to the dentist, but, have no issues coming in for my 6 month checkups. So glad they were referred by my old dentist out in Shorewood.

One of the most patient and friendly doctors I have ever been to. Explained in great detail my options for my tooth pain and spent a very good amount of time with my examination. This was my first time here and I was very much impressed.

My first visit to this dentist office. Very nice and courteous staff Kelly and Debbie. Hygienist Deb very detailed and nice. Dr Kugia extremely detailed and excellent manners. He took the time and explained my situation in detail. I felt very comfortable and I thank you all.
