Wendy has worked in the dental field for over thirteen years, and she joined our team at NEXT Dentistry in 2005. A very versatile member of our dental team, she is a state-licensed registered dental assistant, is certified in CPR, and is trained in AED. In Wendys opinion, the best part of our practice is that we are able to create healthy, beautiful smiles free from worry or pain by using comfort-focused amenities and technology. When she isnt working hard to improve your smile and our practice, you might find Wendy camping and traveling with her family.
Nancy joined the NEXT Dentistry teamin 2013. She received her Dental Extended Functions II certification following the completion of a series of advanced courses from the University of California San Francisco and the Expanded Functions Dental Assistants Association in Fullerton, California. Nancy is in an elite group ofdental professionals in Monterey County to have achieved this certification. She loves working with our great staff and building relationships with our patients. Nancy and her husband, Zeke, have four beautiful children. In her spare time, Nancy enjoys camping, skydiving, white water rafting, and anything outdoors with her family.
Candy feels privileged to be able to bring her many years of experience to Next Dentistry. She graduated from University of Colorado with a bachelors degree, radiology license, nitrous oxide , CPR, sedation & laser certifications. Her specialty is working with high fear patients. Her favorite part of working at Next Dentistry is turning a fearful patient into someone who loves coming to our dental office.
Since 1996, Petra has worked at our Salinas, California dental office. She enjoys the long-lasting relationships she has built with our patients over the years. Petra graduated from the dental hygiene program at Cabrillo College in 1996. She is dedicated to helping her patients achieve and maintain their beautiful, healthy smiles through education as well as utilizing the latest technology and best information and techniques. Away from work, she enjoys weekend barbeques with her family, cycling, sightseeing, and hiking.
Daisy has lived in Monterey County her whole life. In her spare time, she loves taking road trips to visit new scenes with family, friends and her boyfriend. Daisy is big on country music and is what she mainly listens to. She graduated from Soledad High School in 2012 and is actively pursuing her associate degree in accounting. Hikes are important to her and boyfriend during the summer and she likes to explore a new park each week.
Rocio has been working in the dental field for over fifteen years. She received her training as a Dental Assistant through the Santa Cruz county ROP. In 2013, she returned to the University of the Pacific in San Francisco and earned her license for Registered Dental Assistant Extended Function. The dental field is Rocios true passion and shes grateful for every opportunity she has been blessed with. Rocio is extremely thrilled to be part of the Next Dentistry Team!
Marla has been a part of the NEXT Dentistry team since January, 2014 and brings with her over 30 years of experience in dentistry. Prior to joining our dynamic team she worked as a Registered Dental Hygienist and dental practice manager for 22 years. Marla now assists Dr. Hemingway with his presentations on TMD and a multitude of other dental topics as he lectures to other dentists across to the country. She is also responsible for ensuring that NEXT Dentistrys operating systems run smoothly and efficiently. Marla and her husband, Eric, have two growing daughters. In her time away from the office, she enjoys cooking, baking, reading, homemaking and chauffeuring her daughters to and from all of their various activities.
Dr. Greg Roos received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Washington University in St. Louis after which he completed a postdoctoral residency at Martin Luther King Jr General Hospital in Compton, California. He has been practicing in the bay area for over 36 year and we are excited he has chosen to join our NEXT Dentistry team.
His specialties include dental Implants, same day dentures, Implant placement, cosmetic dentistry, and Invisalign. In his free time, Dr. Greg Roos enjoys traveling with his wife, fishing and gardening.
As a dentist, he was trained to focus on the health of your teeth and gums. While we agree with that philosophy, he takes a more overall health approach for his patients. The health of your teeth and gums is directly related to your diet, exercise, habits, and self-confidence. A whiter smile can make you look and feel better. Straight teeth can improve your oral health and gums as well as boost your confidence.
Dr. Vazquez believes in listening to her patients and helping them make high quality, informed decisions with regard to their dental health. After graduating from Columbia University School of Dental Medicine in 2005, Dr Vazquez felt the need to give back to her community and provided dentistry and education to vulnerable populations as a National Health Service Corp Scholar. She then moved to San Francisco where she owned and operated a boutique dental practice from 2013-2019 providing cosmetic dentistry.
Dr. Vazquez is a delegate with the American Dental Association and sits on two national committees. She was born in South America and grew up in the Reno-Tahoe area. She earned her B.S. in biochemistry from the University of Nevada, Reno.
The team at NEXT Dentistry works to improve smiles with cosmetic dentistry in Salinas, CA using teeth whitening, porcelain veneers, and other cosmetic dentistry techniques for over a decade. I have had nothing but great service from all the staff. I really enjoy seeing the hygienist Petra because she makes you feel comfortable and does a fabulous job at being a hygienist. The dentist themselves are very nice and easy to talk to. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a dentist office who cares about their patients.

My husband and I have been patients here for at least 11yrs. Office staff is friendly and efficient. Petra, our dental hygienist, is personable and professional. This office offers every comfort possible for relaxation: your chair is a soothing sage green which MASSAGES, wall hook for purse/ jacket, individual ceiling TV with a noise proof Bluetooth headset set at YOUR choice of channel, calming water features in your space or you can see the outside water fountain from a window. Petra cleans my teeth, sets up my next appointment from HER computer, presents me a goody bag (regular size toothbrush, small tube of toothpaste, floss, and tube of lip moisturizer ).

On Wednesday 10/19/22 I went in for my cleaning with Petra. Petra does such an excellent job. I leave the office feeling great every time I have my cleaning. She is very professional and very knowledgeable when it comes to her job.

I've been to this dentistry practice for many years. Dr. Hemingway recently sold the practice who was the original founding dentist. I recently got 2 crowns done, I paid my copay of $1900 after they apparently got it approved by the insurance. A month goes by and they send me a bill for over $500 that supposedly the insurance didn't pay. So instead of going after the insurance they send you the bill. Then they threaten late fees. This is a greedy shady business with no ethics. I'm not going here anymore. I used to drive 40 mins each way to come get my dental work done but not if they are a greedy business. My crowns don't even fit right. I'm actually a doctor and my dad is a dentist and this place is insulting. Sorry to be vulgar but this is the truth. I hope everyone to be happy and healthy which would be best served by finding a different place to get your dental work. I really don't like leaving bad reviews but I'm sorry I'm pretty upset and wish your establishment good luck with how you determine to serve your patients.

I love this dentist office. All of the employees are very sweet and have your best interest in mind. They make you feel comfortable and relaxed with their massage chairs, tv, and neck pillows. Petra Martinez was my hygienist and she was amazing. I told her my jaw was hurting and she gave me a warm towel and light massage to make it feel better.

I really like going to Next dental. They are so professional, courteous, friendly and helpful. I see Petra every 6 months for my teeth cleaning and I always have a great experience. We talk and laugh the whole time. She is very gentle and wonderful!!

The Dentist Dr Vasquez did an awesome job on my tooth extraction and her assistant Nancy was very nice and professional. They did an awesome job with keeping me comfortable and explained what they were doing as they did it. The dentist office is very nice and clean and I really enjoyed being there, not scared at all like I thought it would be. They kept reassuring me and making sure I was ok and it was an awesome experience. I'm very pleased and will be returning to this dentist office for future dental work. I will recommend this dentist office in the future to all the people I know. Thank you for your hard work and care, I appreciate it very much!
