I am proud to be a Bruin. I graduated from UCLA School of Dentistry in 2009 and have been practicing for more than 12 years. I also have additional experience of practicing in India before relocating to the United States in 2004. I have been a licensed provider for conscious sedation for more than 8 years to help anxious patients. I completed additional certification training in Dental Implants in 2011 and Invisalign since 2013. I love performing cosmetic and general dentistry, including dental implants, dental crowns, and veneers, Invisalign, tooth extractions, root canal therapy.
Patient comfort is a top priority for me in my dental practice. I feel very passionately about taking care of my patients and enjoy my work every day. I like to take time to know my patients well, alleviate their fears, and make them feel comfortable. I like to place high importance on my patients satisfaction and comfort. It is very rewarding for me to see patients smile big after the completion of treatment.
When I am not restoring smiles as a dentist, I love spending time with my family - my husband and two beautiful daughters. I also enjoy traveling, reading, yoga, and listening to podcasts in my spare time.

Friendly front desk, assistants, hygienist, and dentist. Great technology for complete exams with detailed explanation of assessments and treatment needed. Dentists are gentle. Team consistently checks if you're doing ok during treatment.

I've been going to Newport Smiles for over 10 years and they've always been great. Dr. Puri is very detailed in her explanations of the various procedures and she takes a genuine interest in her patients, which is very much appreciated. The tech I had today (Arturo, I think) was very friendly and good at his job. Highly recommend Newport Smiles!

I always feel very cared about by all of the staff at Newport Smiles - from the receptionist to the hygienists to the dentists. They are great at explaining things, checking on how I'm doing/feeling, giving all the options, and providing great service.

Awful place, awful dentist. I tried one more time to give them them a chance and my 2nd time going due to dental work needed. Once again they give you the most expensive and worst case scenario and do not provide other options and will try to take advabtage of you. Went back to my dentist in Tijuana and once again great treatment and provide every option you have and you choose rather than a money grab selfish dentist office Newport Smiles is. Do not trust them, the dentist was rude, cold and un pleasant. It's all about money, they will tell you the maximum amount of work needed and now I think about it how many times do you think they lie to people about work needed just take money from you, don't believe what they say always get a second opinion and you will find out how selfish and inconsiderate they are and in fact that they may be lying to your face.

Great Visit With Dr Puri and her staff. I had 3 other consultations and I knew Dr Puri would be the one I chose . She went over my X-rays and explained the procedures very clearly and also gave me options s, some I could do without saving me money. Dr Puris' assistant Nimshi went over all the procedures and time frames for my implant and also gave me options . Nimshi was very kind and professional I decided I would go forward with Newport Smiles Right away. Thank you Dr Puri n Staff

Check in is always easy, greeting with a smile even thru the mask. Dr's. And staff are very personable. Dental work is painless, although today was only a cleaning. Quality care is provided!

Excellent dental service. Highly suggested. Extremely careful to make dental service as comfortable as possible. Have been a member with Newport Smiles little over a year. Dental work has included an implant, extractions and recently fillings. In every case the work has been PERFECT. Very highly suggested for anyone looking for high quality dental work to be done.

After having a bad experience with a prior Dr. I found them online, let me tell you the best Dentist around. Their customer service from their entire staff is amazing. Having so many dentist (my prior one) being just walking distance from my house I chose to drive 20min to them. I have very bad anxiety when it comes to dentist so having to find one that not only I feel comfortable with but that wont try to push you to do what best for them "money wise" its very important. Dr.Makanji was excellent not only pulling my wisdom tooth but in general great customer service. Their assistant remember that I get nervous from the consultation visit and as soon as she saw me she gave me a stress star to hold on to during the procedure. I will continue to drive 20 min to be seen by Dr. Makanji and his staff. Thank you for your great customer service, you have gain a patient for life!

Exceptional staff! The staff and Doctors are compassionate, professional, efficient, gentle and knowledgeable. I had my teeth cleaned this evening and they did a great job! I was so impressed at how comfortable they made me feel and how informative and helpful the entire staff is. The hygienist went above and beyond to make sure I understood every step of each process which I really enjoyed. The were able to work with me to make sure that I found a routine that worked for my finances. Hard to be excited about a dentist visit but this place is as good as it gets.
