It was a pleasure to serve the community of the Central Coast for over 15 years, Also the Newport Beach Community for the past 6 years and now I am happy to announce my new practice in Costa Mesa, California. I enjoy spending time with my two children, traveling, and visiting with family and friends. My professional career has been dedicated to providing patients with the best that dentistry has to offer. Due to my commitment to continuing education, I am able to offer my patients state-of-the-art technology along with my old fashioned caring touch. I have recently incorporated Invisalign, Lumineers, Implants, and Laser Periodontal Treatments to my already wide range of dental expertise. These modern additions are able to enhance my patient dental experiences with comfort as well as convenience.
I was born in Brazil but moved to California in 1996. I have been fortunate to integrate into a new culture and enjoy being fluent in three languages: English, Spanish, and Portuguese. I graduated in December 1994 from the Federal University of South River in Brazil. I received my license to practice in the state of California in the year of 2000.
I have a strong sense of diversity due to my many active memberships in professional organizations: Orange County Dental Association (OCDS), American Dental Association (ADA), California Dental Association (CDA), Central Coast Dental Association (CCDA), Brazilian Dental Association (ABO), Appliance Therapy Practitioner Association (ATPA). I also volunteered in a dental clinic for the underprivileged (DEMAE), in Porto Alegre, Brazil as well as in a dental clinic for Disabled Children within the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). Recently, I had the privilege to participate in the Santa Maria Valley Dart Dental Clinic and Give Kids a Free Smile for the last 5 years. As a member of ADA and CDA, I attend biannual conferences to refine and advance my techniques in smile makeovers.
I take great pride in my profession and the pleasure of being associated in a quality-oriented practice with current technology. It enables me to maximize treatment results while providing high-quality comprehensive care to patients.
Personal Bio: Dr. Ferreira has been practicing orthodontics since 1997. He believes that his biggest strengths are his personality, ability to form relationships with patients, and his clinical abilities. He has 3 publications (one in the Journal of Orthodontics and 2 in the Columbia Dental Review). He also was an Assistant Clinical Professor in Orthodontics at Columbia University for 4 years and taught 5 international lectures in Brazil and the Phiiii' inns.
Personal Quote: 'My uncle influenced me to become a dentist (he was a DMD), since I was 5 years old, it was what I wanted to become. I enjoyed all fields of dentistry but orthodontics became my favorite, because of changing people 's lives by transforming their appearance. I was very pleased with how quickly they were able to make me an appointment for me due to the emergency I was having. It was such a relief to have received all that attention and care while I was in so much pain. That meant the world to me.

Amazing! Staff is super friendly and make sure to take very good care of you. I got my cleaning today and they always exceed my expectations. Overall, if you are looking for a calm environment and amazing service I always recommend Newport Smiles Dental Spa. They are amazing!

Came in to get a tooth pulled out and was asking the girl assistant me about what I wanted to be done and another older lady interrupted me by giving me attitude about my insurance like if my bill was going to come out of her pocket. Ridiculous! Done with this place. Many more dental offices with better educated employees in the area.

I can honestly say I have never had a more positive experience in any medical setting, let alone at a dentist! Dr. Renata Adames is so friendly and knowledgeable, and there two assistants Erik and Vanessa that are amazing they makes you feel so comfortable. I have been recommending this dentist to everyone I meet also my family and friends..... also the front desk greets you with a smile and makes you feel right at home and u have nothing to worry about...... EVERYONE FROM THIS OFFICE ARE AMAZING THANK U !!!!!!!!!!!

I had my first visit for a cleaning yesterday and I must say I was pleasantly impressed. Everyone was very friendly and the Dentist was knowledgeable. The pricing is affordable and she didn't try to upscale me.

Called in as a new patient and they immediately scheduled me for later in the week. I got a call back and they said that they were not going to be accepting my insurance in 30 days so they wouldn't be able to promise a follow up appointment if they found anything. I just wanted a basic cleaning and told them not being able to follow up wouldn't be an issue. She then decided to tell me that they aren't accepting new patients at the moment, after they were more than happy to schedule me before they found out who my provider was. I understand that they don't want to commit to all the paper work for a new patient but that doesn't sound like a good customer service oriented location.

I can't begin to tell you enough how great Newport Smiles is. I've been a patient of Renata Adames for about 5 years now and will never switch to a new dentist. Not only is she fantastic, but her whole staff is wonderful. I feel taken care of at all times and even in emergency situations, she always makes a way to fit me in her busy schedule. In terms of the work she does, it's top-notch. Her technique in the way she gives numbing shots makes it near painless. Don't hesitate to make an appointment. A++++

I've been a patient at this office for a long time, even before the change of owner. It's such a disappointment to see the front office being handled the way it is now by the new front staff GIGI. I have never dealt with someone with such a rude attitude and so unprofessional, I can see why the last good review was 3 months ago since that's about the last time I saw the last two girls working here. GIGI seems money hungry and doesn't respect contracts that were done before she arrived and it's not ok. I encourage anyone else that is experience this to speak up because the way she's running this office is not ok. PS the website is so inaccurate with the pictures of the staff most of those lovely girls aren't working there anymore, only Lisa which she's great/friendly and a trooper for sticking around.

I rarely leave negative reviews but I've done so here after a history of incredibly rude and poor (and painful) service. There are far better dental offices out there.

I called Dr. Renata Adames for a chipped tooth. Before I go any further a bit of history. We have known Dr.Adames for over 15yrs. She was my dentist when she was in Santa Maria. When she moved to Newport I drove the 3.5hrs for her to work on my teeth. Now we live in Moreno Valley so no more 3.5hr drive. Dr.Adames knowing I dont do well with dentist. The 1st time she treated me was the 1st time anyone explainded what they was going to do. Now back to my worse then I thought chipped tooth. She got me in today and was welcomed by front staff. She repaired my 2 teeth and staff was very helpful and friendly. If your looking for that 1 special dentist that well take the time to explain what's going on and how to fix it then you need to call her office right away... Thank you all for today.. For us cry baby's she well take good care of us and you.... Give the office a call....dont wait.,..

I am extremely impressed with the amazing service Dr. Renata has given to me today. She has saved the longevity of my teeth. I have spent years seeing a dentist in my neighborhood, and he did not notify me that I had periodontal disease. Once I switched to Renata, she took care of me completely. I highly recommend Dr. Renata to anyone that wants to have very healthy teeth. She will be super honest with you and will take care of you like family!:)
