As a young child, Dr. Hedi Kermani always looked forward to visiting her own dentists and orthodontists offices. She especially always enjoyed seeing the cool equipment and gadgets used at her orthodontists office, and knew from a very young age that one day she would become a great orthodontist with her own cool gadgets and toys!

This is the same feeling she strives to bring to her own patients. She loves the look of each new patient when they first enter her practice. Dr. Kermanis goal is for her patients to love visiting her office, both for the treatment they receive and for the fun, warm, and friendly environment.

Dr. Hedi Kermanis awards and recognitions have been exemplary. During her undergraduate college training, she was a recipient of many awards, including the prestigious UCLA Alumni Scholarship, Deans List Awards, and cum laude honors. She graduated from the UCLA School of Dentistry with many honors and was among a select few to receive the Advanced Education in General Dentistry training in conjunction with her doctorate in dental surgery during her dental school years.

She subsequently achieved one of her prime goals by entering into and completing her orthodontic residency training at the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania. During this period, her masters degree thesis was published in the American Journal of Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics, a highly respected orthodontic journal and magazine.

Dr. Kermani continued her specialty and advanced training in the areas of Invisalign and lingual braces. She has since accomplished another milestone standard for excellence in orthodontics, that of becoming a board-certified orthodontist: a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.

She is also an active member of many dental societies such as the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Board of Orthodontics, the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, and the Orange County Dental Society. Dr. Kermani believes strongly in keeping up to date with advances in orthodontics by attending continuing education courses on a regular basis.

Dr. Hedi Kermani and her family have lived in and contributed to the greater Newport community for many years. Dr. Kermani has two wonderful children and is married to Dr. Michael Kermani: a prestigious ophthalmologist who also practices in the city of Newport Beach. Both Drs. Kermani take great pride in their community and are involved in many community events. Together they provide the highest levels of care for local families, something they find to be very rewarding.

Dr. Kermani has remained actively involved with local schools and participates in volunteer programs whenever she has a chance. She enjoys going to the beach, hiking, playing tennis, and traveling. Dr. Maryam Meschi is an incredible specialist in pediatric dentistry. From a young age, she planned to enter a profession where she could help and work with children. Her goals have always included making sure her patients have a superior experience at their dental visit and giving each patient the utmost in care and comfort. In fact, Dr. Meschi routinely goes beyond the call, to make sure that each patient has a superior and positive dental experience.

Dr. Meschi graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a bachelors degree in human development. At UCSD, she was an active member of the San Diego Pre-Dental Society and the Dental Clinic Project, where she would help provide dental care to many within the community. She served as the clinic manager of the Pediatric Dental Clinic Project, which was established and organized under her guidance and provided accessible, quality dental care to many children.

Also at UCSD, she coordinated the Thousand Smiles Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides care for less fortunate children abroad, who face a lack of dental care and maxilla-facial deformities such as cleft palates and cleft lips.

Dr. Meschi received her Doctorate of Dental Medicine at the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health. Her advanced training included courses at the renowned A.T. Still University School of Health Management and culminated in her certification in public health with dental emphasis. Dr. Meschi has also actively contributed to many community events. Dr. Meschi served as president of the Pediatric Study Association and was a team leader within the Give-Kids-A-Smile Committee of the dental program.

Dr. Meschi pursued and completed her specialty training in pediatric dentistry at Texas A&M Universitys Baylor College of Dentistry. Baylor is a dual university- and hospital-based training program that has a strong emphasis on working with many types of children, including those having special needs and those who are medically challenged. During this rigorous training, she also served as a teacher of pediatric dentistry to other Baylor dental students.

Dr. Meschi currently holds active standing in the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the California Society of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the California Dental Association.

In her free time, Dr. Meschi enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, and skiing, scuba diving, and experience-based traveling. She also loves quality time with Cody, her special black-and-white Pomeranian.

Dr. Judy Gillard is a true California native: born and raised in California. From the very beginning, Dr. Judy knew she was destined to be working with children. Dr. Judy has always enjoyed being around children and has the patience and outstanding skills to create the most comfortable and enjoyable dental experience for all her patients.

She especially loves taking the time to care for and comfort her patients so that visiting the dentist is a rewarding, informative, and all-around fun experience. Dr. Judy also enjoys helping younger anxious patients and enjoys transforming them into kids who are happy to see their dentist again and again.

Dr. Judys pediatric dentistry education has been truly exceptional. She graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a B.S. in cell and developmental biology. Next, she attended the University of California, San Franciscofor her dental school training andreceived her Doctorate of Dental Surgery.

While in dental school, she was very active within the dental community and her university. Dr. Judy volunteered frequently to give back to her community by providing dental services to underserved areas within the Bay Area. During her dental school education, Dr. Judy strengthened her commitment to pursuing a career with children and was the recipient of the first-ever Pediatric Dental Clerkship coordinator position. Dr. Judy was also a recipient of the prestigious National Board Scholarship for her academic excellence in dental school.

At the completion of her dental school training, Dr. Judy was accepted to and completed an additional two-year dental specialty program in pediatric dentistry at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia. Dr. Judys pediatric dental residency is well known for its emphasis on a clinically oriented curriculum. As a resident of this program, she gained considerable experience working with children and was exposed to all facets of pediatric dentistry.

Dr. Judy is currently an active member of multiple dental societies, including, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the California Society of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Orange County Dental Society, and the California Dental Association, which enables her to stay active and involved in the dental community and at the leading edge of her field.
