Always love this practice. Innovative, but never over-selling. Always have the latest tech. Efficient but never rushed. And ALWAYS excellent, professional, highly-trained, and welcoming staff, who work well together and with a range of patient ages. The patients feel comfortable and heard. So happy to have them so close!

Dr. Tilman has been my Dentist for years. He and his staff have always been professional, kind and quick to respond to any needs or issues that have arisen. I would recommend his practice without hesitation to anyone in need of dental care. Good place, good people.

Semi-Annual cleaning with Lisa M. Without a doubt the best hygienist in the business. I look forward to my cleanings. She always does a great job and is pleasant throughout. Dr. Tillman is always professional, thorough and friendly. Great Dentist.

The Newport office failed to return two voicemails over 10 days. The Portsmouth office scheduled an appointment but was dismissive about concerns related to dental anxiety/phobia, offering nothing more than the same trite statements you'll hear from any dental office that hangs a shingle. If you are dental phobic this is not the practice for you.

Show up for a six month cleaning and find out that my insurance claim finally went through after a year and I have a balance of $400 that was now outstanding on my account. That is a significant amount to unknowingly walk into. I asked about a partial payment which the lady at the front desk said no. I then communicated that was unable to pay that amount. Ultimately it is on me for not reading my insurance policy and assuming it was covered after not hearing anything about a balance after my last cleaning which was six months after the procedure. Apparently that's not uncommon for insurance claims to take that long. My issue is that once i offered a partial payment at that point the staff should've just explained what my options were even if it was "We are sorry that you weren't aware of this balance, unfortunately we cannot offer you a cleaning service today until the amount is paid". Instead they decided to talk about my "lack of ownership" over the past due amount. I decided to leave and on my way out I hear "you still have to pay it" I had a service performed and I should have been more inquisitive over the past year about when I would receive notice about a balance and that's on me. But the customer service skills of the front desk are atrocious. I can't be the first patient to be in that situation. My advice would be next time to just explain what the options are even if there are none and not mention anything about the customer's responsibility in the matter. To leave me standing there not sure what to do was very embarrassing.

After many years at another practice, I am so happy we changed to Newport Family. The staff was pleasant, the hygienist was kind, patient and thorough. The Dr. was very nice informative.
