Dr. Shore is originally from Mocksville NC, but she and her husband Patrick are not new to Carteret County; they moved to Atlantic Beach in 2014, and have since called it home. She attended University of North Carolina Wilmington and graduated with a B.S. in Biology and Minor in Gerontology in 2013. Following graduation, she worked in the dental field as a dental assistant before pursuing her doctorate. Dr. Shore then earned her Doctorate in Dental Medicine from East Carolina School of Dental Medicine in Greenville, NC. Dr. Shore is very passionate about providing dental care to those in rural areas, as is the mission of ECU SODM. Volunteering with NC Mission of Mercy Clinics across the state, as well as the NC Baptist Dental Van right here in Carteret County, she plans to continue serving her community.
Madelyn married her high-school sweetheart, Patrick, here on the Crystal Coast in 2018. They have a lab named Hattie. Patrick works in both the commercial and sportfishing industries, and they all love spending time on the water. They have fallen in love with our Crystal Coast, and are excited to start this new chapter together.
Dr. Shore is a current member of the North Carolina Dental Society and American Dental Association. She is passionate about creating long-standing relationships with her patients, and providing compassionate care. Everyones dental needs are different, and Dr. Shore is committed to providing premiere, individualized care in a relaxed environment.
Dr. Harry M. Worden was born in Louisville Kentucky, where his father was attending medical school at the University of Louisville. Once his internship in Charleston West Virginia was completed, the family moved to Hope Mills, NC.
Dr. Worden attended school in Hope Mills until graduating from high school in 1968. While in college he married Gloria McIntyre, whom he dated from the age of fourteen. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1972, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After graduation, he worked in the Pathology department at UNC Medical School for two years; he worked with hemophiliacs and performed research associated with bleeding disorders.
Dr. Worden graduated with his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1978 from UNC-Chapel Hill. During his third year of dental school, he met Mr. Moses Howard; Mr. Howard assisted Dr. Worden in opening Newport Dental Center in August of 1978. Dr. Worden has been practicing dentistry in Newport for over 42 years.
He and his wife Erika enjoy traveling and visiting their mountain home. Dr. Worden enjoys fishing, boating, motorcycles, and shooting in his spare time. Despite over four decades in dentistry, Dr. Worden is still enjoying the profession to this day.

Dr. Shore and staff really do make the best of an otherwise stressful appointment. I have been a patient there for over 30 years. I am thankful that Dr. Harry Worden gets to retire and has put the practice in very capable caring hands!

Dr. Shore was wonderful! I broke a tooth and she got me in quickly explained my options. She took great care of me during my treatment and the staff was wonderful. I would highly recommend Dr. Shore and her staff at Newport Dental!

I suffer from dental anxiety and have avoided going to the dentist in several years. After finally mustering up some courage, I made an appointment with Newport Dental. I divulged my anxiety to my hygienist upon arrival, and she definitely helped put me at ease by explaining each part of the process and making conversation in between. She worked efficiently to get me in & out of the chair as quickly as possible but was super thorough throughout the X-rays and cleaning process. After the cleaning, Dr. Shore did the exam and answered all of my questions and thoroughly explained the few problem areas with me. We came up with a treatment plan and she made sure to show me the spots on the computer monitor/screen so I could see with my own eyes what was going on. Despite the fact that I brush and floss 2x/day I could see the effects that not going to the dentist in several years had upon my teeth and gums. I don't think I will ever be completely comfortable going to the dentist, but I definitely plan to schedule routine visits with Dr. Shore as they made the entire process as smooth and calming as possible! I highly recommend this practice and the staff here are very friendly and comforting!

This was my first time going to Newport Dental and it was a great experience! Bridget was very kind and helpful in explaining everything she was doing throughout the cleaning. Dr. Shore was great as well and very reassuring! I am glad to now have a new go-to Dental office in this area :)

I had a broken tooth emergency over the weekend. I called for an appointment 1st thing this a.m. and was in the chair by 10 and out by 1045. Dr Shore is an excellent dentist. Very smart, personable, and hygienic. Just the type person you want if you have to have someone rooting around in your mouth. She matched my tooth color perfectly and its not detectable in any way. Michelle is a great hygienist and my teeth have never been cleaner and whiter. If one needs a dentist,, THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO. HANDS DOWN! 5 stars are not enough. Thanks much girls. Bill Pedrick

My tooth started hurting today at 1230. Called at 1:30 to see if I could be seen and had an appointment sent for 3 today!! So thankful. Dr shore and her team did some Magic and made the hurt tooth all better just like that!!

Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be writing a review about anything on the internet, let alone a review about a dental office. Folks, let me tell you, if you need dental work done, Newport Dental Clinic is the place to go! They are the kindest, most caring, professional people you will ever meet. (And besides that, they know what they are doing.) A few weeks ago I broke a tooth off and it really wasn't bothering me, so I didn't go see my dentist. Well in due course it not only started hurting, it got infected. Last week I called Newport Dental Clinic and was scheduled to be seen. I was taken in, examed, x-rayed and told to take antibiotics for a week and return yesterday. Dr. Shore performed the procedure of cutting the roots out as that's all that remained of the tooth. Dr. Shore and her entire staff were constantly aware and concerned about my comfort and wellbeing. I got up this morning and had no pain and no drainage and was truly surprised. I can not say enough things about Newport Dental Clinic. Five Stars doesn't come close to what their rating should be. I give them a 10+ Star rating.

This place is GREAT! After calling about a broken tooth they worked me in , diagnosed and treated me within one day!!! Super nice assistant made my nervous self feel completely comfortable! The Dr. took time to explain thinks also and was quick and compassionate ! I recommend Dr Shore and her staff highly! If you need great dental care this is the place! Thanks to Dr Shore and Jennifer! You guys rock!!!

Love me some Harry Worden he took care of my teeth back when I had to make payments on a cleaning. I'm still going there after 45 years. Dr Storm is top knotch as well. I just love the entire staff.

So I had a dentist that I had for 31 years I called about my teeth in the back which was loose and was bothering me they gave me appointment for a month so I called Newport dentist office I went there today I called them yesterday they took care of me very nice people that work there very impressed with their compassion for their customers so needless to say I have a new dentist a woman dentist I was very impressed with her I'm grateful

I have been a dental patient of Dr. Worden's since I was a little girl. He is always happy, smiling, singing or humming and he and his staff make sure you feel cared about and leave with a smile on your face! I have now seen Dr. Shore the last two times and she is a delight! Our town is blessed to have these dentists and their staff of hygienists and receptionists!
