Dr. Shore is originally from Mocksville NC, but she and her husband Patrick are not new to Carteret County; they moved to Atlantic Beach in 2014, and have since called it home. She attended University of North Carolina Wilmington and graduated with a B.S. in Biology and Minor in Gerontology in 2013. Following graduation, she worked in the dental field as a dental assistant before pursuing her doctorate. Dr. Shore then earned her Doctorate in Dental Medicine from East Carolina School of Dental Medicine in Greenville, NC. Dr. Shore is very passionate about providing dental care to those in rural areas, as is the mission of ECU SODM. Volunteering with NC Mission of Mercy Clinics across the state, as well as the NC Baptist Dental Van right here in Carteret County, she plans to continue serving her community.
Madelyn married her high-school sweetheart, Patrick, here on the Crystal Coast in 2018. They have a lab named Hattie. Patrick works in both the commercial and sportfishing industries, and they all love spending time on the water. They have fallen in love with our Crystal Coast, and are excited to start this new chapter together.
Dr. Shore is a current member of the North Carolina Dental Society and American Dental Association. She is passionate about creating long-standing relationships with her patients, and providing compassionate care. Everyones dental needs are different, and Dr. Shore is committed to providing premiere, individualized care in a relaxed environment.
Dr. Harry M. Worden was born in Louisville Kentucky, where his father was attending medical school at the University of Louisville. Once his internship in Charleston West Virginia was completed, the family moved to Hope Mills, NC.
Dr. Worden attended school in Hope Mills until graduating from high school in 1968. While in college he married Gloria McIntyre, whom he dated from the age of fourteen. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1972, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After graduation, he worked in the Pathology department at UNC Medical School for two years; he worked with hemophiliacs and performed research associated with bleeding disorders.
Dr. Worden graduated with his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1978 from UNC-Chapel Hill. During his third year of dental school, he met Mr. Moses Howard; Mr. Howard assisted Dr. Worden in opening Newport Dental Center in August of 1978. Dr. Worden has been practicing dentistry in Newport for over 42 years.
He and his wife Erika enjoy traveling and visiting their mountain home. Dr. Worden enjoys fishing, boating, motorcycles, and shooting in his spare time. Despite over four decades in dentistry, Dr. Worden is still enjoying the profession to this day.
